I purchased a 2011 Volkswagen Jetta from Cook Volkswagen. After leaving the dealership and driving home, it started getting dark outside. We contacted our salesman, Rich, the next day (Sunday) on his cell phone and he told us to bring the vehicle into the service department on Monday and they would address the problem. On Monday, my husband took the car in, and a fuse was replaced, correcting the problem. The next day, Tuesday, I was contacted by Peter Burns from the finance department. Peter had signed the original contract with us. Peter told me that we had agreed to a down payment and that the dealership did not collect that from us, so we needed to make the payment. I reviewed the contract to find that we never agreed to make a down payment. My husband was contacted by Manager, Don, who questioned him about weather our trade in had ever been involved in an accident because they thought something was wrong with the frame. They truck had never been involved in an accident, which my husband told Don. Don also told my husband that there were duplicate contracts, and that we signed the wrong one, so we would need to come back to the dealership to sign the correct contract. Again, we reviewed our contract and did not see any errors, so we declined to come in and sign a new contract. After getting off of the phone with Don, we were contacted again by Peter. Peter told us that there was an error in our contract. We again told him that we did not see any errors. Finally, Peter told us that we were given a rebate my mistake and that we needed to come in and sign a new contract that did not include the rebate. We declined. Peter then told us that Cook Volkswagen would refuse to pay off our trade in (which was agreed to in the contract) until we signed a new one. Again,we refused. We then received another phone call from Don. Don told us to immediately sign a new contract or return the vehicle. We explained that we have a contract, and that we would be doing neither. Don then told us that they would see to it that our financing would not be approved, thus forcing us to return the vehicle. Our salesman had given us our credit scores on Saturday when we purchased the vehicle, and both were in the 700s. We explained that to Don. There is no reason that our financing would not be approved. Don and Peter continued to harass and threaten us. They threatened to come to our house and to even contact a sheriff and obtain some sort of a warrant and to have our vehicle repossessed. On 8/10/11 my husband and I agreed to return the car to Cook Volkswagen. We had to go through the trouble of contacting an attorney to draw up an agreement to protect ourselves and to rescind the sales contract, reimburse us for any taxes or fees that we may have incurred and to reimburse us for window tint that we had purchased for the car and receive our trade in back. Since all of this was due to Cook's error, and we were already going out of our way and returning the vehicle, which we were not obligated to do, we did not feel that we should be out any money. My husband contacted Don and arranged this. Don resisted. He wanted us to return the car immediately and receive our truck and a check for the window tint tomorrow. He also refused to sign the agreement that the attorney drew up. We told Don that we will just keep the car and stick to the contract we have. Don continues to call and harass and threaten us and has even become verbally abusive. More
Mike was one of the most professional salesman I've seen in a very long time. He promised and what he promised he delivered. He did not push us into a car, he let us choose and then gave us the specificatio in a very long time. He promised and what he promised he delivered. He offered his opinion, based off of our needs, and before we even asked for it ( we always do), he gave us the cars carfax report. Mike was a very pleasant salesman and I will recommend him to everyone I know. A quick recap is, my wife has no credit (a ghost). We were not sure we would get financed, Mike asked his bosses (very very good people) and somehow got it approved (with a fairly low interest rate). If ever a car is needed, I will recommend the entire staff at Cooks in Fallston, especially the salesman Mike. More
We traded in our 2006 Harley and purchased a 2011 VW Jetta with Lenny in used cars. He was extremely helpful and spent several hours over a 2 day period with us while we took time to decide what was be Jetta with Lenny in used cars. Thorughout it all, Lenny was extremely patient and has recently helped us with our new car check up and some paint touchups. He worked very hard to coordinate the paint shop with the service shop to make sure our car was serviced properly and quickly. I have a 13 and 14 year old that are already picking out what cars they want from Cook Volkswagen when they turn 16 - hope Lenny is still there! I would highly recommend him!! More
I was very happy with the treatment I received at Cook.My credit isn't the best but they hung in there with me and I could really tell they were working hard with the bank for me. I visited Cook Volkswagen to purchase a new vehicle. The salesman was very helpful and knowledgeable of all the vehicles, made me feel very comfortable and helped me decide which car was for me! Wow, what a great place to buy a car. The finance person and the managers all work hard on my deal. They put there all into this because my PASS credit history is terrible. I went to many side dealers and they wanted too much money and were trying to get over and when we went to other dealerships they didn't even send my information to the banks after viewing my credit reports. I appreciate this dealership and i AM GOING TO PASS the word on to my family members and friends. If you want a deal, COOK Dealership is for REAL!!!!
