My wife and I had been searching for an Audi Q7 for several weeks when we found one at Cook Volkswagen. The price was very competitive and the vehicle was well equipped. After a brief conversation with several weeks when we found one at Cook Volkswagen. The price was very competitive and the vehicle was well equipped. After a brief conversation with Mr. Kelly, we decided to travel from Silver Spring to Fallston to purchase the vehicle. During our initial test drive I mentioned to Greg that the passenger side mirror was not working properly. He acknowledged it and we continued on. After evaluating my trade, Greg asked if we had a deal. That was strange to me because I had not been presented any numbers. When I asked for the numbers, he comes back with a blank piece of white paper with nothing more than several numbers scribbled on them. I was not presented with a purchase order or anything official. After evaluating the numbers, my wife and I realized that not only was the math wrong but that they had added approximately $2500 back into the price of the vehicle to cover "reconditioning fees and inspection". The excuse for why these fees were not disclosed online was poor at best...he mentioned something about being competitive. I didn't kick back because my wife was so in love with the truck and because of the distance travelled to get there. They corrected the error in mathematics and we agreed on a monthly payment. To our chagrin, the bad math and incorrect prices reappeared once we got to the business office to sign the paperwork. We explained to the finance person that there was an error. He corrected the error and reprinted our purchase order. We then met back up with Greg to wait for our Q7 to be finished being cleaned. You would think that for $2000 the vehicle would have been immaculate. It was far from it. There were areas that were seemingly untouched by the cleaners. I chalked it up as an inexperienced cleaning staff and kept my mouth shut. When I asked Greg for the second set of keys and the owners packet he told me that they didn't have it. I recognize that when you purchase a used car you get it "as is" but when you pay $2500 for inspection and reconditioning there are certain aspects that should automatically be included. When I asked Greg to get me a 2nd key and owner's manual he told me that He would look into it. We left the dealership not completely satisfied but happy to be in our new SUV. When I inquired on several later occasions about the key, books, and mirror I was told, by Greg, that I should have requested it at the beginning of the deal and that because it wasn't on the "We Owe" paperwork they wouldn't be able to do it. When I asked about fixing the mirror, he told me that it wasn't covered under the 30 day/1000 mile warranty because that only covers MSI components. My wife and I signed the "We Owe" form before we were even made aware that there were no keys or books. Our experience has always been that the books and 2nd keys are presented just before taking ownership of the vehicle. Had I known that a "reputable" dealer such as Cook VW would have participated in such deceiving and shady practices I would have never given them my business. From what I understand the GM is on vacation this week. Please believe that we will be following up with him first thing next week. More
Greg was very nice and helpful! He practically worked magic for me and didn't give up until I left with a car! I will definitely be recommending others to Cook Volkswagen. magic for me and didn't give up until I left with a car! I will definitely be recommending others to Cook Volkswagen. More
Mr Greg was very helpful, was not pushy at all. He knew about the vehicle I was buying and had the tags already on the vehicle when I got there. I called earlier that day and let him know I was coming, but about the vehicle I was buying and had the tags already on the vehicle when I got there. I called earlier that day and let him know I was coming, but would be late, he stayed past his scheduled time to better serve my timeline. I was impressed with the service and personality of the staff. I have been shopping for about a month and this was the first dealership I was happy with. I have already told friends about them, and will be looking there when I need my next car. Thank you to the staff, and I hope you all have a great year. very resectfully, SSG Billy Weber More

Customer service was great. Friendliness was very good as well. The only complaint I have is with the price I was originally quoted and the price that I paid at the end of the deal, they were quite different well. This review is for the "pre-owned" portion of the dealership and meant for those that make a long trip to buy a vehicle listed online. I knew the precise vehicle, 2007-2010 Tundra Crewmax w/5.7L the dealership and meant for those that make a long trip to buy a vehicle listed online. I knew the precise vehicle, 2007-2010 Tundra Crewmax w/5.7L, I wanted so I did a search within 500 miles of my home in Norfolk, Va. A few dealerships and private sellers had vehicles that matched my criteria. It was comparable to the others I found within the same distance and the price was less than $1000 difference. I decided to go with this particular dealership because the price(listed and told to me over the phone). When I get to the dealership, which was 258 miles from my home, I discover the 'internet price' did not include an additional $2,000 in 'Refurbishing' fees. I was told these fees are to cover the very stringent 160 point inspection that maryland requires. I manage to get them to reduce that to $1000, but only because I was stuck driving 500+ miles already. On the drive home I noticed a shimmy and grinding noise coming from the front in when I applied the brakes. I took it to a shop to have an inspection done, since not even a maryland sticker was on the car despite what the dealership said. The front rotors were extremely warped, which was the cause of the noise and shaking when the brakes were applied. During the inspection the mechanic also noted that the water pump was failing (coolant leaking from the weephole). When I asked him if any of this could have suddenly occurred during a 250+ mile trip home, he replied that it wasn't likely simply because the amount of coolant that was caked on the motor and subframe. Now, less than a month after I purchased the vehicle I need new brake pads and rotors ($700 for parts and labor) and a new water pump ($1200 for parts and labor). Total additional cost for picking Cook Volkwagen over an honest dealership: $2,900. Expect to pay much more than the 'internet pricing' suggests. I understand that parts fail and sometimes there is issues with used vehicles. What I do not agree with is the bait and switch tactics with the price of the vehicle. An additional $2000 on top of the price listed is no where near reasonable or realistic to think that anyone would simply shrug it off. This hidden fee should have been added to the total price when listed, to do otherwise just lures people in with false hopes. It is a shady and dishonest practice. More
