I responded to an add on AutoTrader.com for a new Jetta, which was listed at $21,916. I sent an email through the website asking for a total "out the door" price, since I live an hour away and wanted to be which was listed at $21,916. I sent an email through the website asking for a total "out the door" price, since I live an hour away and wanted to be sure the deal was worth traveling for, and was answered by Matt Appleby with a quote of $23,500. When I arrived to purchase the car, I was told by Matt Appleby that the price listed was dependent on my qualifying for a $500 rebate for being active military AND a $500 rebate for being a recent college graduate AND a $500 rebate for trading in a 3yr old or newer car of different make. He also stated that if I was knowledgeable about car sales, I would have known that all car dealers price their ads this way. He told me that the email answer I received was from a disgruntled salesperson who used his email account and then quit the company. He further told me that he would not honor the price I was quoted and that the best he could do was $23,600 for the price of the car, before tax, etc. I left without doing any business with them and I do not recommend them. More

When my Jetta was on its last legs, I went to Cook Volkswagen hoping to get a decent deal on a new one. He said that cosmetically the car looked great and made me an offer that was higher than I expected. Then he asked what I was looking for. Even though I really needed a car, I still wasn't willing to settle on something I didn't like and I had a budget in mind that I had no way of surpassing. I gave Dave my loooong list of requirements and there were two cars on the lot that fit! I looked at both and decided to test drive one of them. I had a guy friend with me just for a sanity check. He sat in the back seat during the test drive and commented that the car had lots of power and great suspension. He and Dave started talking about some technical engine stuff that I didn't quite understand, but at least they knew what they were talking about! I was kind of nervous about financing. With credit slightly below average, I figured I would either get stuck with a high interest rate or maybe not even get approved. Dave chatted with the finance person about some creative options. I got approved and at an excellent rate. I love my new car!! More
I’ve been looking to buy a different car for a while and I finally stumbled across one that I was interested in at Cook Volkswagen. I decided to go down there and take a look at the car and test drive it be I finally stumbled across one that I was interested in at Cook Volkswagen. I decided to go down there and take a look at the car and test drive it before buying it and I was pleasantly surprised when I got there. Usually when I go to dealers they try to push you into something that you’re not interested in or try to sell the cars for way more than they’re worth. The salesman that I talked to was very friendly and helpful and he didn’t try to convince me to buy one of the other cars on the lot that was higher priced or anything like that. The car that I found was priced very competitively and the salesman was very helpful in helping me get my paperwork filled out so that I could enjoy my new car. More

My salesperson, Lenny, was very friendly and helpful, particularly with explaining to say, it was the best experience I’ve ever had at a dealership! My salesperson, Lenny, was very friendly and helpful, particularly with explaining all the different options and working with my budget, so I was able to choose exactly what I wanted for a great low price. I also really liked how accommodating Lenny was, especially the way he was straightforward without being pushy. Overall, I certainly recommend Lenny for his excellent customer service, extensive knowledge, and honesty! More

I thought I was paying 13k and they snuck in 3k worth of so called RECODITIONAL FEES that they nev WARNING: DO NOT GO TO THIS PLACE, VERY DISHONEST! I thought I was paying 13k and they snuck in 3k worth of so called RECODITIONAL FEES that they never presented to me before i signed the contract, car ended up selling for 16k. Lenny pushed me to sign the contract and never reviewed it with me. This is the first place i've ever bought from that did not review the contract in detail. I now know why, because they secretly slide in extra profit to the cost of the vehicle, hopeing , like me , the customer doesn't catch it and signs the contract. I come to find out that the higher management , Don, and the used car manager could care less about you once you signed the deal. THEIR BUSINESS MUST BE SO GREAT, THAT DON'T WORRY ABOUT RETURN BUSINESS. I REALLY HOPE THE OWNER OF THIS DEALERSHIP READS THIS because i'm 40 years old and have bought about 20 cars in my life. I could of been a very good return customer but because lenny and the used manager had to be greedy and sneak in 3 k worth of extra profit , not reconditional fees, I will never set foot in this dealer again. Look at all the maitenance money you will lose from me not coming in for oil changes and repairs. I guess heritage vw will enjoy my business. More
Dont be fooled by the low used car sales price on their website. I traveled all the way from PA because my vehicle was listed for 15,998. Only when the reviewing the paperwork in detail later did i discover a 2000 reconditioning fee was added to the price of all used vehicles. It is not itemized on the invoice or mentioned once by the salesman. Under no circumstances would i advise buying a car from here. More
