First off, let me start by saying…this was the BEST car buying experience I’ve ever had. I do a lot of research on every “big ticket” item I purchase, especially a car. After I test-drove cars and picked what I wanted, the proper offer search was on. I checked the inventory of several dealers between work and home. Cook Volkswagen of Bel Air was my first stop. The search was over…my sales person Teena, was so professional I thought I was at the Waldorf Astoria. I told her what I was looking for and she accommodated, smiling and very friendly every step of the way. I checked the car out and left. (I could not believe there was no pressure as I walked out the door) The next day I was back and we talked numbers and they were below what I was expecting to hear. Long story short from Teena (Sales) to Mr. Burns (Finance) who by the way is just as strait forward and honest (Yes this is a car dealership) as Teena, the whole experience was a breath of fresh air in what is usually a poker game. Do not buy from this dealership. It is understood that dealers "play the game" but this dealer will blatantly lie to your face. We inquired about a car through their website and received a call from Rich dealers "play the game" but this dealer will blatantly lie to your face. We inquired about a car through their website and received a call from Richard Hieronimus (goes by Ritchie) who deals with their internet sales. After a few back and forth conversations he offered us a car for $27.5K out the door (incl. taxes, tags, etc.) if we could be at the dealer on Tuesday night. This offer was presented in writing. We confirmed this with him a few times and he repeated that this was in deed the out the door price (all in writing). We drove about an hour to the dealership on Tuesday night and took a test drive in the car. We then filled out the loan application all with his reassurance that the car was $27.5 out the door. After about 15 minutes he came back and said his finance manager would not honor this price and that the car was $29.6 out the door. The only effort he made after this was to offer $100 from the dealers shop. He lied directly to our face over and over and played a bait and switch when we got to the dealer. When he told us the new price he tried to play the sad "puppy dog" roll and stated this is not how the dealer does business. Unfortunately, this too is a lie as well because obviously this IS how they do business. Again, DO NOT buy from this dealer. Ritchie will lie to you in order to get you in the dealership and then raise the price hoping that you will pay the higher price. The manager is no help either as he will not stand behind the price that they offered. More

The first trip's purpose was to investigate and test drive candidate models. I deal with salespeople in my work, mostly very good salespeople who are mainly sociable, friendly problem solvers. Melissa is there with the best. After deciding to buy the car a few days later, Teena Cardoni and Richard Hieronimus handled the sales and paperwork as well as I could want. They dealt with me in a straightforward, friendly manner; I thoroughly enjoyed the time I spent there. These guys impressed me as good people to do business with. More

I went to Cook to buy my son a car. Our original salesman was Mike Hamilton who I would never deal with again. Not only does he promise things that he does not follow through with, he really needs salesman was Mike Hamilton who I would never deal with again. Not only does he promise things that he does not follow through with, he really needs to think before he speaks. Mike is only out for a sale, not to make people happy with their purchase. After many problems with Mike I was referred to Neal the operations manager for Cook. If it weren't for Neal I would never go back to Cook again. He not only made sure that the cosmetic issues we had with the car were fixed, but also made sure we had no other concerns. It's to bad for salesmen like Mike. If I had only dealt with him I would have thought Cook was a lousy dealership, not the case at all. I am very pleased with the purchase of the Jetta and am very appreciative of Neal's dedication to customer satisfaction. More
