SUPER HIGH SALES PRESSURE AND BAD MECHANIC SERVICE!!! I absolutely would not buy another VW here or have it serviced here! Ben (our salesman) was extremely informative about the Tiguan we bought and the absolutely would not buy another VW here or have it serviced here! Ben (our salesman) was extremely informative about the Tiguan we bought and the vehicles abilities, more so than other brands of car dealers who just offer you a quick test drive. That being said is where anything worth going to this dealer stopped. Ben was low pressure during the test drive and the entire time. We had the "sleazy used car salesman" technique pulled, but not by Ben (who sat quietly across from us) as Josh the Sales Manager stuck a pretty high price in front of us for a new 2012 or 2013 model. My wife and I said no.. we didn't want that new of a vehicle or that kind of expense. We wanted to stay in the low $20's and all he wanted to know is the monthly payment he could stick us with for the next 7-8 yrs in stead of a 5 yr. loan (typical bad salesman technique). We said "no" again, and that we wanted to look at another brand of vehicle. He had our salesman running through the lot to try to find "something in our price range". Then he went back to see "how low he could go" with his advisors or who ever- and to my not so surprise said the sleazy used car guy "what can I do to get you into this car TONIGHT" as he brought out a used Tiguan I negotiated until I was blue in the face, finally got to a reasonable number. We arrived just after 8:30 and ended up leaving after 11:00 pm because of all the "negotiating". Another sleazy technique that bad dealers love to do to try to break a person on the price or get you to buy. We love the VW but I feel bad about not buying the Rav4 from the Toyota dealer we drove for the fact the sales guy was so nice or giving the business better VW dealer. They also said it was certified mechanically, took the car home and the very next day it leaked a puddle of oil about a 20" diameter circle on the driveway. We ran it back and they said "they must have over-tightened the oil bolt/washer causing it too leak. I had similar tales told to me by co-workers about service done that shorted out the electrical and over-filled the oil on a Passat and a Jetta when they went to Southtowne VW. They said it's worth the drive to go to the other VW shops downtown or elsewhere. More
South towne VW drained my oil and had me drive off the lot without filling it, they destroyed my headlight ECU and would NOT replace it, VW broke my air intake engine manifold because their techs are not lot without filling it, they destroyed my headlight ECU and would NOT replace it, VW broke my air intake engine manifold because their techs are not adequately trained and to top it all off they scraped my car into another vehicle while working on mine and denied it. Horrible humans work there. More
We purchased a new Tiguan recently. Our sales guy, Bo, was extremely knowledgeable about the car, which I found to be a rare quality among most of the other sales guys I've met at other dealers. We are loving the car and the whole experience of dealing with this dealer and with Bo was just great. More
Very poor ethics, They don't care about their customers, only about making the extra dollar. Whatch what you sign because it's not always what they say!! only about making the extra dollar. Whatch what you sign because it's not always what they say!! More
Alan was a great sales man. He helped us with all that he could in a very respectful manner. The Jetta we purchased is a very good car and runs great. I purchased a VW golf 2000 for my son on 6/17/11 for his 16th birthday. After high pressure, and my son liking the Golf we purchased it, cash. After only driving it home from the dealership it failed to sta 16th birthday. After high pressure, and my son liking the Golf we purchased it, cash. After only driving it home from the dealership it failed to start the following day, it was towed in, they replaced 2 electronic parts then made it sound like they did me a huge favor (they agreed to fix anything needed to pass emissions…a car must start to have the emissions checked.) By the time I got the car home it was smoking and the clutch was out. Having this car operate for less than 1 hour. At time of purchase, I asked how the timing belt was, the manager said “We just replaced the serpentine belt and the timing belt is right there if it had needed one they would have put it on”…guess what I talked to the mechanic after the first repair they never looked at it. Then Josh in customer relations let me know how bad they feel so they offered to help me out on replacing the clutch instead of $1900 they will only charge me $1300 if it needs a fly-wheel it will only be $2300. (i can get the clutch, fly-wheel and all replaced elswhere for $1,064.00) They may be legally justified by a stupid piece of paper I signed but they are morally compromised. I own three volkswagens I will never go anywhere but Strong’s again! More
very pleasant people to work with, easy to negotiate and willing to work with me on #'s, anyone who says they were "taken advantage of" obviously has some deep rooted issues and needs to be informed that un willing to work with me on #'s, anyone who says they were "taken advantage of" obviously has some deep rooted issues and needs to be informed that unless they had a gun to your head there is no way that someone.. can MAKE you/me or anyone do anything. I bought a 2008 passat and just recently purchased a vehicle for my daughter, and each time, the negotiations were easy, when i didn't like numbers on the first car they presented me i did something crazy.... i said no.... and they respected it, and a week later found me a car that worked for my budget and fit my needs better, thanks David and Luke More
They low-balled (by about 10K) me on my trade before I could find out what it's actual value parameter's were. They wouldn't work with anything other than MSRP. They made errors in their favor multiple ti could find out what it's actual value parameter's were. They wouldn't work with anything other than MSRP. They made errors in their favor multiple times on the paperwork (which kept lowering my trade in value even then, by thousands). They (collectively) would not return phone calls inquiring about errors. High pressure tactics, with a lot of vocal volume and the only interests mentioned are what they are doing for themselves. They now have my trade as hostage, and I just want the whole deal to go away.... More
The business ethics I experienced there were the lowest of the low. They will lie and pull out every trick in the book to dip deeper into your pockets. There was so much pressure there that I literally in of the low. They will lie and pull out every trick in the book to dip deeper into your pockets. There was so much pressure there that I literally in tears. They even made threats to pressure me into getting a car from them. I cannot even express the disgust I feel for every employee that works there! I wasn't aware people like that even existed and apparently they all grouped up at South Towne like a pack of wolves prying their way into your wallet. Buying a car is stressful and hard enough without having to worry about being scared to not buy a car from them. I ended up in Vegas to buy my car due to the lack of inventory at the time at Strong VW. Please re-consider buying from this dealership. I can GUARANTEE that if you look elsewhere you will be getting better service, a better price, and you will feel better in your overall car buying experience. More
