My 2016 Golf SportWagon consumes a quart of oil every 700 miles. I'd visited two other VW dealers for advice and was prepared to spend up to $8,000 to have the engine replaced. Instead, Raymond Massey, the Service Manager, suggested that we do an "oil-consumption test" first, which could help narrow down the possible engine problems that would then be confirmed by an examination of the appropriate part(s) of the engine. Once we had settled on that approach he read every line of the service contract aloud with me to make sure I understood everything. In my 53+ years of owning and servicing cars that had never been done before. Then, he answered every one of my many questions and I left satisfied that we were going to find a cost-effective solution so that I could keep the car, as planned, for another 3 or 4 years when I intend to replace it with an electric vehicle.
