In under 24 hours after my purchase, I realized that I was not given fair values for my trade in vehicles. This was not determined on KBB or some consumer web site. I was in the business for years and looked at MMR. At the time of inking the deal I had not done my homework but rather relied on the conversation I had with the salesman and the sales mgr. We are not talking about a few dollars we are talking about $4000 - $5000 in lost revenue from both of my trades not to mention the tax savings on that money. I was going to involve my attorney because in NJ you have 3 business to terminate a "deal". That is the law. I decided against it and chalked it up to a lesson well learned about being too trusting. By the way, my purchase was a $70,000 ram. Lastly, this deal was concluded on 11/23/20. It is now 12/11/20 and I am getting emails telling me my Subaru account is past due. Does it really take almost three weeks before there is a payoff? I was just told by Subaru that the dealership called for a payoff on 12/8/20 which means they had not even sent out payment as of 12/8. Extreemly aggravated at this point! If my credit rating gets dinged because of a late payment, there will be legal action taken against this dealership. Getting back to the issue of the low amount given for my trades. The proper and professional thing to have done where the dealership would still have my respect would have been to split the difference and offer me an additional $2000 - $2500. That's what you should do when you get "found out". At least, that's what I would have done. As a business owner, money and profit is NOT everything and pigs get slaughtered. I gave the dealership two stars and not one because it was my fault fo not doing my homework and the staff was quite friendly. Too bad they didn't do the right thing. More
