I brought my 2018 Toyota RAV4 Limited to this dealership for a pre-purchase inspection. Their service department noted “pad shift” and “pad slapped” brakes but failed to mention that the front brake pads we for a pre-purchase inspection. Their service department noted “pad shift” and “pad slapped” brakes but failed to mention that the front brake pads were the wrong size — a serious safety hazard. Weeks later, I discovered the pads were too small for the calipers, which could have caused complete brake failure if they had worn down just a little more. When I called the service manager to express my concern, he refused to take accountability and tried to claim he had warned me. But nowhere on the invoice does it say “wrong size brake pads” or that the vehicle was unsafe to drive. Their language was vague and dismissive of a potentially fatal issue. I’ve since replaced the brake pads myself, and thankfully avoided a dangerous situation. But I expected better from a certified Toyota dealership. If this had happened to someone less experienced or less lucky, it could’ve ended in a crash — or worse. This level of negligence is unacceptable. If you’re trusting them with your safety or the condition of your vehicle, I recommend getting a second opinion. More
Oil was not changed properly. Later, discovered that air and cabin filters were not "cleaned" as claimed. Had problems in past with tires not being rotated as claimed. Don’t get your car serviced here if you value your time or clear and truthful communication. Called in on 2/24/22 to see if they had the battery I thought I may need in stock, read off the part number a or clear and truthful communication. It was a Toyota battery a different dealer installed. Decided to squeeze in for an oil change as well. Fast forward to Friday the 25th. Spend nearly three hours waiting at the dealer after I give them the car before I hear from anybody again. Then for the first time, it’s brought up that it might be the wrong battery (that’s worked fine for over a year, and I do think the other dealer put the wrong one in) still no offer to replace although it’s a TOYOTA battery that you can only get from Toyota. NO offer to prorate for the correct one. Only that they’ll “see what they can do”. Finally get the keys after 4 hours of waiting. Tried to charge me for an alignment I didn’t get since the wheel bearings need serviced. No mention of battery. Pop the hood later because things just seem suspicious and what do you know? THE SAME ONE is still under the hood. They didn’t even have the decency to say that it couldn’t be done and hoped I’d just leave and not notice! NOW I just get off the phone with the service manager Robert Riffle who isn’t an inkling of apologetic, and sure he did offer to try and help three days later, but after his lack of apology and the fact that I’d have to drive a half hour out of my way when I can’t even be sure they actually even did the oil change? I’m done with this place. Bottom line, seek service elsewhere. More
