NO BS I have been buying cars for 60 years. In the past, I settle on a price, when I go to sign the papers there are all kinds of charges. With Varsity Li I have been buying cars for 60 years. In the past, I settle on a price, when I go to sign the papers there are all kinds of charges. With Varsity Lincoln in Novi Michigan thee is none of that BS. My lease was handled primarily by e-mail and phone since I live 60 miles away. Most other dealerships won't do this. My local dealership was no help. My current purchase experience was just as good. My salesman was Barry Harnos for both the lease and purchase. I felt I was treated very fairly. More
Very Dissatified Customer I had an extremely unpleasant experience at Varsity Lincoln in Novi, Mi. My story is long, but there is a character limit here. The summarized v I had an extremely unpleasant experience at Varsity Lincoln in Novi, Mi. My story is long, but there is a character limit here. The summarized version is that the dealership personnel did not communicate with each other, which resulted in me making a 2 hour drive each way for a car that was already sold when I got there. The salesman I had been working with was off, and the person he asked me to work with when I got there knew nothing about the sale I had been working on. After standing around for 15 minutes waiting to talk to someone in authority (at their request, not mine). The individual I was directed to was unapologetic, somewhat confrontational, and rude to me. When I very calmly said that I would not be shopping there, and that my internet review of them would be unfavorable. He said (this is a quote), "I don't know if that is a threat or a promise..." then proceeded to tell me how I was at fault for the situation. When I interrupted him, he said (another quote) "I listened to you, now you listen to me..." and continued to tell me what I should done to avoid this. I want to be very clear that I never raised my voice, never called anyone any names, never cursed, and never made any threats (unless you feel that the above was really a threat). I really feel that he was more interested in telling me why I was wrong than trying to make the situation better. I feel that I had been very professional (especially given how angry I was). I have to state that he was correct in that I could have placed a deposit on the car earlier, but I had agreed with the salesman that I would do so over the phone on Saturday morning before I left for the dealership because I was unsure if I would be able to make the long drive. The salesman could not be reached on the phone (even though he said call him on Saturday morning). We were only able to text. The salesman didn't pass along the specifics of the deal (even though we agreed he would call and have the car and the paperwork ready for me when I got there). I don't care that they sold the car (mistakes happen and I could have helped the situation), but I do object to their mishandling of the situation, and then treating me like I was the cause of it, when I was the one who did exactly what I said I would. More
