I was deployed and trying to order a new Ford Focus. I already had financing and this dealership was a "preferred dealership" with my bank (which is military affiliated). I was ordering the vehicle to be already had financing and this dealership was a "preferred dealership" with my bank (which is military affiliated). I was ordering the vehicle to be ready for me to pick up when I returned. I was able to scan or fax any documentation and had someone in the area with a power of attorney for "wet" signatures. At first Doug attempted to find me a car, then told me that I wouldn't be able to order it until I could be there in person. I asked if someone with a power of attorney could order it for me. I didn't get an answer for two weeks. My husband finally called and Doug told him that I couldn't order until I was there, in person. I called Doug again. He told me the same thing. I asked if I could do it with a power of attorney. He said he didn't know, that he'd only heard about that for the first time from my husband earlier in the day. He said he'd look into it. I never heard back from him. I called and left a message with the sales manager. My call was never returned. Doug also wasn't familiar with the procedure for ordering a vehicle and originally told me that it would take less than 5 weeks. Later he told me it could take over 8 weeks. I asked why the difference and he said sometimes they can find one and it's quicker, that we'd just have to wait and see. This was 6 weeks before I was scheduled to come home. If I'm ordering from the factory, I shouldn't have to wait for them to find the car at another dealership. I finally decided it would be worth it to spend a little extra at a dealership that was not "preferred" and went to I-5 Ford in Chehalis. I had no problem ordering the car and they even matched the price I was going to get at Vancouver Ford. I picked it up as soon as I got home. More
