Worst dealer I have ever been to. Went in looking for a vehicle, but had some very strict parameters on what I wanted. Talked with a salesperson who seemed like they were begging me t Went in looking for a vehicle, but had some very strict parameters on what I wanted. Talked with a salesperson who seemed like they were begging me to buy a car. They went to their manager John Eutzly who came over to talk with me. I told him the vehicle type and price I was looking for, and he said it was like I was looking for a unicorn. He then proceeded in a mocking tone to claim that every once in awhile they tie a unicorn up on the hill by the dealership, and they let the children feed it skittles. Obviously this person doesn't want to sell cars. Too bad for them I went to Ganley Ford and talked with Joe Catalanotto. Apparently they must sell unicorns, because I left the same day with a vehicle that I wanted at the price I wanted. So definitely go to VanDevere if you want mocked, ridiculed, and in the end walk home. More

Lifetime warranty Live in Pittsburgh and was told didn't have to travel there to service vehicle just to follow service guidelines in escalade handbook as I did but whe Live in Pittsburgh and was told didn't have to travel there to service vehicle just to follow service guidelines in escalade handbook as I did but when I needed service as my water pump went and called lifetime warranty company I was told warranty was void because of oil change I got without their approval and as all I was doing was following the guideline so price or water pump was going to be $500 and when I called dealership about my situation and I talked to woman name Debbinee she assured me someone would call me. Well it's been a month and no call so if you are buying used car which will be be serviced for you do yourself a favor and ask for money off car and cancel warranty because it's worth is $0.00 and it cost me $500 to find that out. For a big dealership you would think their customer service would be better. More

Iam a young single mother who went there looking for a safe car for my 3 children and myself. I was told by the sales guy Neal this car would be great. Later when I looked closer at the papers it says at safe car for my 3 children and myself. I was told by the sales guy Neal this car would be great. Later when I looked closer at the papers it says at the bottom parts only car.whatttt??? They plated me and said it was a good family car! I gave him the test of my tax return and left with a plated vehicle. Just as a month was about to hit my brakes went out and my car accelerated into a pole at a gas station. With my kids inside mind you. I called and they gave me to a few different people. Nobody helped!!! They said "you are grown woman, you signed the paper" "you get what you get" I lost my job because of no transportation and no bus lines where I live! I will never ever reccomend them. All I wanted was my money back! More
Initially my experience with VanDevere Auto Outlet and James was positive and seemed promising, however as they looked into my credit rating the demeanor of James in particular changed drastically. It seemed almost as if a light switch went off and all the sudden I was prey rather than a customer. I was told that because of the bank that they had to work with (due to my credit rating), I had to purchase a warranty and allow a GPS tracker to be attached to my car. James even admitted that it was "technically" illegal for them to sell me a car contingent on purchasing a warranty, but told me outright that he would not sell me *that* car unless I purchased the warranty. Finally when it came time to show me the paperwork I was given a printout with marker scribbling all over it of a smiley face, "drive it home now!" and a few other corny phrases that were somehow supposed to mask the fact that I had come in looking to purchase a car for 5,000 with 1,000 down, and now was being presented a total purchase price of just over 8,000 dollars - 2,000 of which were from this added warranty and insurance above and beyond due to the car's price point being significantly higher than the bluebook... When I asked for any sort of documentation as to what this 2,000 dollars covered James told me "look, do you want the car or not?" as if it is somehow unreasonable to want to make an educated decision about purchasing the 2,000 dollars worth of warranty/insurance that they were attempting to railroad me into. Finally when he realized that I was ready to walk he had someone else come in who in so many words told me that my credit rating was poor so they had me over a barrel, and began digging into my transportation options in an attempt to pressure me into the purchase. I tactfully left the interaction as quickly as possible at this point. I do NOT recommend James or Van Devere Auto Outlet to anyone with poor credit. They will attempt to take you to the cleaners in ways that most likely aren't even legal, and will downright insult your intelligence with some of their sales tactics, because apparently all people with bad credit lack common sense.
