Not much to the experience. Found a vehicle on line with a price where I wanted it. The vehicle was there in very good condition. There was no hassling I took the vehicle for a test drive looked it over tho a price where I wanted it. The vehicle was there in very good condition. There was no hassling I took the vehicle for a test drive looked it over thouroughly saleman did not have much to say about it. Did not even try to tell me these things move quick and there were other people looking at it to boost the sale. Made an offer on the vehicle directly to the person who makes the final say on the sale. They only pushed back for very little over my offer, Overall a pleasant experience on a good vehicle. More

I have been looking at many advertisements for autos and it seems that Joe Van Horn has a number of vehicles, offered on the net at prices that are in "my range" and lower than other typical advertised pric it seems that Joe Van Horn has a number of vehicles, offered on the net at prices that are in "my range" and lower than other typical advertised prices. The specific car that had drawn my attention, at a price listed on the web, was priced differently on the lot, but they had another one "in my price range". I note that I was not offered any of these other offered cars, nor did I see prices that matched those I saw on line. The Chevy Uplander they countered with seemed OK so I made an offer. The offer was accepted and the paper work was drawn up. Problem was they added "fees" to the price. Fees that where specifically not a part of my offer. The woman (don't remember her name, sorry) said she could not wave the fees but that they where "legal". She had to get her manager. That was Charles. Glowered at me, and rude. When I declined the fee he said "everybody pays it" and that if I didn't I could take back my keys and get out. Really a small number of dollars and had they counter offered before accepting my offer I probably would have agreed. Still, by that time Charles had accused me of "stealing the car at that price" and stalked off. I left with a bad taste for Joe Van Horn Chevrolet and I am now deeply suspicious of their business practices. I also note that with the current issue of which Executive has killed GM (at wholesale) I think that these practices are the retail side and are the death by a thousand cuts. I wanted (and still do) to put my money on an American vehicle. Hard to do with this kind of "dealer" representative. More
I have never been treated so disrespectful in all of my car shopping experiences. It all began when I contacted Jim..."the best car salesman on the lot". I had my parents drive down to look at a car becaus car shopping experiences. It all began when I contacted Jim..."the best car salesman on the lot". I had my parents drive down to look at a car because I live over 200 miles away from the dealership, and I wanted to make sure it was worth the drive. While my parents were there they asked Jim if he thought 10,000 would be a reasonable offer on a vehicle advertised for 10,999...Jim assured them that he thought it was a fair offer. So I made the trek across the state with the expressed intention on buying the car. Low and behold when I got there the price was NO LONGER negotiable. NOT ONLY THAT but I also had to give them my car as part of their "Push, Pull, and Drag" sale. I of course said no! Then the financing push began...I kept telling Jim I needed the price to come down, and he kept pushing financing options. He treated me like I was some dumb kid who did not know the difference between negotiating a lower price as opposed to financing the stupid thing for 72 months. I walked away from the situation very frustrated, but with the intention of coming back in the morning to deal with Charlie the manager. Oh boy, Charlie was a treat! I thought Jim was bad...but Charlie took the cake. He said he would absolutely not come down on the price no matter what. I asked him if a "no negotiating" policy was how the dealer worked and he went on to say "If you like, I can jack the price up to 13,999 and lower it to 10,999 so you can feel like you got a deal." I was appalled by this! When he asked why I wanted the price lower I told him it was because I was a poor college student on a tight budget and that I needed to stay within it. He said "Sounds like this Altima is too much car for you", in a completely demeaning tone. I honestly will go till the end of my days to tell everyone I know HOW HORRIBLE THIS DEALERSHIP IS. Please seriously reconsider buying a vehicle from these guys. More
Here is the complaint we filed with the DMV abou the dealership, ontop of this they were rude and untruthful. Hello, I would like to file a complaint about a dealership in plymouth, wi. Joe V dealership, ontop of this they were rude and untruthful. Hello, I would like to file a complaint about a dealership in plymouth, wi. Joe Van Horn Chevrolet. We went in to test drive a car that we have seen on the lot and on the internet. The price on the internet was $13,723. The price listed on the hang tag was also $13,723. The hang tag said best price underneath and nothing else. We went in to the dealership and they said the price was 13 plus 3000 that they would match plus the 4250 minimum push pull and drag which was not advertised anywhere. So the price of the car came out to be $20,937. It was not advertised anywhere else and there internet price said nothing, here is the link to it. http://www.vanhornchev.com/Preowned-Inventory.aspx?InventoryId=26711787 Also on top of that we found the ad that said they will match up to 2500 on your tax return, and in the fine print it said these prices already include the 2500. So it is misleading by saing these cars and when you go in they say every car. When we called about it they said 3000 and then said 2500 when we arrived. Next I asked the manager "charlie" to explain why they added all the cost without advertising it he said he can sell the car fo whatever he wants. After that exchange we left with him yelling at us over the top of our car while I was putting or baby in his car seat. As you can imagine I was extreamly pleased with that! My phone number is 1-920-***-**** an my name is Andrew. I will also try to call tommorrow during the day as this happend at 4:45 so it was to late to call today.I know I have rights as well as there are fair practice laws and feel like I have been taken for a ride. Anyway thank you. Sincerly Andrew More
