We scheduled an appointment to meet with a sales person. Prior to our visit, the sales person called to confirm our appointment and told us that he would have the truck inside and would make sure it was ready for us to look at and test drive. When we arrived the following AM (30 minutes after the dealership opened), the salesperson we were scheduled to meet with was busy. We waited for 30 minutes before meeting with someone else, who was not familiar with what we were looking for or the truck we were there to see. The truck was still parked outside, covered with ice and snow. The salesperson also has to leave to put gas in the truck. Needless to say making an appointment did not expedite this process. Thankfully the staff was pleasant and friendly, or we would have left. More

So I called and talked to Kellyn earlier in the morning and she set up the vehicles for test drives and explained everything to me and was so personable and made my buying experience very pleasant. I received the warmest, most personable reception by phone I've experienced from a dealer. Thanks Tawnae! I came in with a V.I.P. appt. and was actually treated like one. Ready to "fight" for the car I wanted, after a few less than stellar experiences with other dealers, I was taken aback by Jorren, who immediately "disarmed" me by listening and then mentioning THE CAR I ACTUALLY WANTED (imagine that!), and even had it on hand. Other Chevy dealers acted like it wasn't possible, or a good idea (a hybrid), and tried to talk me out of it like I was a teen buying my first car. Or they avoided the topic...and its a CHEVY car. They kept trying to put us in a car we said already we did not want. Within two minutes of meeting Jorren, who was (is) very chillaxed and humble, we were talking about the car my wife and I wanted. From that point on, the experience was super. The manager, the other sales people, and the finance guy, were all very kind, efficient and helpful. They tried hard to work with our budget AND get us in the car we wanted. And they succeeded. I know there are other kind sales people and dealers, but there was something different about this place. I brought my wife and one of our little kids back to the dealership to talk with Jorren. The concierge offered my son a kid's drink. There was a nice play room with a kid's kitchen. Our son didn't want to leave. AND they had popcorn! My one criticism is that they had no freshly baked chocolate chip cookies on hand, which I later found out they usually have. But in all seriousness, if you are looking for a car and dread dealing with dealerships, YOU OWE IT TO YOURSELF to visit Van Horn Chevrolet in Plymouth, WI. It was the easiest purchased EVER.
