Especially the Vantuyl dealerships that continue to try and completely and royally screw people over in the service department. It’s just unbelievable how they snowball people and how they get away with it. This story happens to deal with Van Chevrolet and all the people mentioned above. My wife and I just bought a 2007 Cadillac Escalade. I wanted to take it to Van Chevrolet to have it inspected and then have some warranty work done. Turns out that I needed rear brake pads. Keep in mind that my relationship with Van Chevrolet didn’t start off very well about a year ago. I caught them in numerous lies when I first took one of our escalades there. They didn’t do certain work like the alignment, they didn’t change fluids like they said they did etc. I completely lost it when they didn’t do the work the first time and had another dealer catch them in the act. Van Chevrolet did correct the problems the first time though so I thought I could trust them. Well I was wrong once again. I took the vehicle to them to have the rear brake pads, alignment, and brake flush done. Keep in mind that I wanted to have OEM Cadillac Brake Pads put on as well. I even gave them the invoice from the dealer in Tempe where I wanted them to get them from. I was getting cost plus 10 percent on these pads. Instead they ended up putting the cheapest Non Ceramic pads on there. First of all they didn’t even do the alignment. The Tow adjustment was completely off. Then I took it to another dealer and they said the brake flush had not been done either. The fluid was pretty dark and it was pretty evident. Then our brake pads were squeaking every time we came to a stop. It was the worst noise I had ever heard. We have 10 cars so I know cars pretty good. I also know when something is not acting right on a car. So I decided to take it to Just Brakes in Mesa, AZ who have lifetime warranty on the PADS. I decided I was going to video Tape the whole process which I will be putting up on my UTube very shortly. I will attach a link at a later date. So when they took the brake pads off it was discovered right off that they never took the rotors off and machined the rotors. How do we know this? The factory clips had never been removed. When we did remove them there was fresh rust behind them. The video will clearly show this and the rotors never been turned. Then they took the hardware off and discovered the Guide Pin and the ears on the pads were completely DRY! This is very bad. The guide pin should have been greased a little bit along with the ends of the brake pads called the ears to Stop and prevent squeaking. Not turning the rotors is just completely lazy and a huge mistake as well. I have all of this on video. Then we took the front wheels off and it was discovered that my fronts needed to be replaced. Van Chevrolet gave me no 24 point inspection sheet to let me know this. Then we put the vehicle up on the alignment rack and it was discovered by Just Brakes in Mesa, AZ that the Tow adjustment was severely off. Van Chevrolet did not even do the alignment but gladly charged me for it. If I never would have taken my vehicle to Just Brakes for a second opinion and third opinion I would have never known. Yes people, I am telling you to start taking your car to another source just to make sure you car or truck or RV or Boat is actually getting the work done that you paid for. It has now come to this in this world. It’s sad to say but you just can’t trust VAN Chevrolet and most of these dealerships. Even if you do trust them take them to a shop like Just Brakes that will let you watch them do all the work. They will show you talk to you and let you watch them do the work. These dealers are over charging, not doing the work and laughing all the way to the bank. If this happens to you make sure you pay with your AMEX and dispute the charge or dispute it with your VISA and then complain to your State Attorney General and the BBB. Go to the news, radio and anybody else that will listen. The news gets heavily paid advertising money from these dealerships so the news and radio at least in Arizona probably won’t do anything for you. But the AG and the BBB will. Don’t let these people just walk all over you. Dispute and then take them to Small Claims court. Take your car to Just Brakes or another shop to make sure the work has been done and video tape it. I know it sounds like a lot of work but I am just warning people about the Van Chevrolets out there. Don’t trust this dealership or any VanTuyl Dealership in the Valley. They are all Crooks! Make sure you give them a BAD Survey or Review on www.dealerrater.com if they do a terrible job. They all can’t stand this. Again, I am just warning everybody in the Valley in Phoenix, AZ. VAN Chevrolet Not to be Trusted! More
I took my Chevy SSR into the Service Department for a flown fuse in the Air Conditioner and was told my extended warranty did not cover to find out why the fuse keep blowing and they Wanted to install in flown fuse in the Air Conditioner and was told my extended warranty did not cover to find out why the fuse keep blowing and they Wanted to install inline fuses to find out what keep blowing the fuse. It would cost me $550.00 to put the inline fuses in so they would know why it keep blowing and that the Extended Warranty did not cover it. I told them it was outragous and I would not have it done,so I was charged $130.00 with it not being fixed! I called the MPP Warranty Company to find out why they would not cover the repairs and they told me that Van Chevrolet never contacted them and that Manny Ramirez had never called, the Service Manager Shawn McEniry, called me 2 days later and took care of me and did all the work and did it at no charge! Thanks So Much Shawn...... More
I purchased a car from Van GMC and the moment i drove it off the lot I had issues. Naturally i decided to take it over to the service department to get fixed. From the start they screwed around with me.. ma off the lot I had issues. Naturally i decided to take it over to the service department to get fixed. From the start they screwed around with me.. making me weight an hour for a rental that they promised to pay for, but never did. I must have visited the service department 5x with the same issue. Every time I had my car there they promised me the issue would be resolved, but it never was. Finally i got sick of taking it to Van and I brought it over to a local Caddilic dealership and my car problem was fixed within 1 day and I got a free rental. I can't tell you how horrible this dealership is because it would require 100 pages. They screwed up on every level, wasted my time and blamed me for everything. Subsequently, I have removed the Van license plate holder and their ridicules badge because the last thing i want to do is promote this "dealership" More
I was on this site and wrote about an experience I had with Van Chevrolet on March 18, 2011. My Chevrolet Trailblazer was under warranty and I was having some issues with it so I decided to pick Van Chevr with Van Chevrolet on March 18, 2011. My Chevrolet Trailblazer was under warranty and I was having some issues with it so I decided to pick Van Chevrolet in Scottsdale due to its close location to me. I had never used them before, instead going to another Chevy dealer close by as well. I was very upset about a charge for service I received when I picked up the car. I figured I was scammed by a typical dealership and there was nothing I could do about it. The bill devastated me financially. I went on this site and gave some poor reviews but I gladly will admit I was wrong. I received a call from the concerned service general manager who heard about my issue. We discussed the situation and to my shock, he was sympathetic to the issue and insisted on working with me towards a fair resolution. I was very pleased with what he offered. In this day and age of companies trying to make an extra buck, it was a pleasant surprise to see Van want to make their customers 100 percent happy and attempt to work something out. You look at that various ratings of car dealerships and you do not always see high reviews of these dealers caring about their customers but that is not the case here. The GM was very reasonable. This honesty and ability to work with this company has earned them my respect and I would return to Van for future service, even after the warranty expires. I would recommend Van Chevrolet to those who look at this site and need service for their automobile. Trust is everything when it comes to car repair and I really appreciate them caring and working with me. More

This dealership is by FAR the most crooked I have been involved with. The service department is so preoccupied with making MONEY! The customers money that is. As consumers, we dont have the luxury of g involved with. The service department is so preoccupied with making MONEY! The customers money that is. As consumers, we dont have the luxury of going under the vehicle to see what is really going on and if we need this or that. I have been there twice now, and this is twice to many! It seems they turn a small job, into a big one. I have spent over 2300 dollars on 2 seperate occasions on things that I was told I needed and was recommended. One time, I came in just for a general check up, my tahoe was running fine, and service calls me back telling me its going to be 3000 dollars to fix everything. When I said, no, thats way to much, he said he would call me back to see what "deals" he could make with his boss and his mechanics. This went back and forth a few times, and I finally said, you know, that still to much 2500 dollars for gaskets, this and that. He says to me "ok, this is kinda of personal, but how much money do YOU HAVE to spend today?" Stupid me, me so concerned about my upcoming trip, I say ok , i have 2000 dollars I can put towards this. He said, let me call you back. he call back, and says I can do the a job that is worth 3000 dollars and make it 2200. This is a "steal" he says and states his mechanic is taking a loss for his wages to do this for me. This service guy, should be working in the sales department. Can you believe, he asks me, "how much money do you have to spend?" Please avoid this place if you value your money!! Seriously, no joke. By the way, 3 months after this huge overhaul ($3000) on my tahoe, in which my 2005 tahoe was fully functional and "good to go" per Tom, I now have oil leaks. Im taking my business elsewhere. I live in scottdale, but will travel as far south as I can to get my chevy fixed and serviced. Please learn from my mistake. I am hard working professional her the valley, and I have no interest in this matter other than warning other people and letting them know of my experience. Please learn from my mistake. More
Van Chevrolet is the very example of service after the sale. They are timely, friendly, thorough, and competent. Steve Nichols has gone out of his way to provide an excellent level of service including sale. They are timely, friendly, thorough, and competent. Steve Nichols has gone out of his way to provide an excellent level of service including support on repairs that were out of warranty. They have always delivered the vehicle when promised if not before, called immediately when a concern is discovered or when the work is complete, and done so in a professional manner. An example of this commitment is; I had my Suburban, which I purchased there, serviced before a 1,100 trip to Texas and my Thule car top carrier was severely damaged when they washed the car prior to me picking it up. Since I was getting the vehicle serviced two days before my trip, they went out of their way, searching all over town to obtain a new car top carrier for me and did so in less than a few hours. They even promised to give it a custom matching paint job upon my return from Texas for the trouble. They did so as promised and although I was briefly inconvenienced, they more than made up for it in the end. I would highly recommend Van Chevrolet to all my friends, family, and strangers alike. More
They wrecked my suburban while it was in for service and lied to cover it up. When they got caught, they lied again! Service had my car for 2 weeks to repair and when I got it back the repairs were f lied to cover it up. When they got caught, they lied again! Service had my car for 2 weeks to repair and when I got it back the repairs were far from decent! There are still dents, scratches, paint blobs, fisheyes in the paint, the door is popping, the Bose stereo isn't working right, my Ipod connection (that I had hard wired) doesn't work, the headliner front and back is pulled out with black fingerprints on it, when I drive on the highway it's so nosiy with wind coming through the gap in the door. We have given ample time for them to remedy with no results! BEWARE!! We are now seeking legal help to get them to buy or trade out this damaged car for one that's not. They are NOT willing to fix this problem so we have no choice. I Highly recommend STAYING AWAY from Van Chevrolet!! More
