I went in to check out a used car on their website. Ran my trade in value, they lowballed me and tried to upsell the website listed price of the car I went in to see by $3k. I wanted to sell back my Honda I bought from Val Strough a year ago. I love my car but my needs changed. Sales Manager Ashnil Prasad was rude and rather arrogant yesterday. Hondas are great cars but I would NEVER use this dealership for anything. I went to Goldstar in Salinas where the guys were polite, professional and offered considerably more than the offer by Ashnil Prasad. More

Steve Martin greeted me immediately, kindly, with a welcoming tone. He was engaging but didn't waste time. He explained and advised in a manner that intuitively told me I could trust him. He ushered me to the waiting lounge and taught me how to use the coffee machine. He validated my choice and purchase of a Honda CRV. By the time I left, two minutes under his projection, I sensed we were members of the same community, and I felt I actually had been taken care of by a friend. More
Great experience getting a new Lease After my old car broke down, my husband and I were in the market for a new (or used) ride. We were planning to go to the Santa Cruz Honda Dealership because of their advertising. But, we decided to stop by the Seaside Honda (Val Strough Honda) to check it out. We are glad we did! Benny came out to help us. He was very patient and after seeing some certified pre-owned options, we asked about leasing; and Benny was very helpful answering all our questions. Initially, we were looking for a Honda Civic (which Benny showed us). But, when we saw the Honda Fit, and after we took it for a drive, I changed my mind and settled on the Fit. Benny walked us through the process of getting the lease and getting the price we wanted. Everyone at the dealership was extremely helpful and friendly. After we were all finished and I got the keys to take the car home, I noticed a small scratch on the paint. I was told to bring the car back that Friday; and when I did that, Benny took me to lunch at a nearby restaurant while we waited for the guys to take care of the paint scratch. I was so impressed! That was totally above and beyond what I expected. What an example of excellence in customer service! They have certainly won a loyal customer. Thank you! More

TRIED TO ACCUSE ME OF FRAUD TO MAKE ME PAY FOR WARRANTY WORK DO NOT USE THIS DEALERSHIP--IN ADDITION TO BEING GREEDY THEY ARE SLEAZY. My 2014 Honday Accord Hybrid threw a hissy fit and I had it towed to the n DO NOT USE THIS DEALERSHIP--IN ADDITION TO BEING GREEDY THEY ARE SLEAZY. My 2014 Honday Accord Hybrid threw a hissy fit and I had it towed to the nearest dealership: Val Strough Honda. They had to call in a higher level technician and he diagnosed a stretched timing chain and the fuel injector also needed replacement. Typically these parts can last the lifetime of a car but my car is only three years old and has less than 6,000 miles on it. The typical cause of a stretched timing chain is to have run the car with a low oil level. However, I am a stickler for maintenance and had done all the right things: on schedule oil changes with the right oil, the right amount of oil, and the right oil filter--and I had the documentation to prove it. The car had the correct amount of oil when it was brought in. I had done nothing wrong. And as my friends would tell you, committing fraud is totally alien to my character. NONETHELESS, VAL STROUGH TRIED TO ACCUSE ME OF FRAUD IN ORDER TO GET ME TO PAY FOR THE REPAIR!!! Apparently, dealerships get paid less money for warranty work. I had to call corporate Honda customer relations who in turn reviewed the case and got Val Strough to honor the warranty. My only prior experience with Val Strough was also very negative. When I looked to purchase the car it was in high demand and there was a shortage due to a lack of hybrid batteries. Some dealships were charging a premium in addition to the list price. Val Strough is closest to my home so I went there first in spite of knowing that they wanted an additional $3,000 over list. I also knew that Ocean Honda and the Salinas Honda were not charging a premium. Val Strough would only come down a little on the premium and I felt that all they wanted was to maximize how much they could make me pay and the xxxx with customer relations. I walked out. I went to Ocean Honda to purchase the car and the experience could not have been better--night and day difference from Val Strough and totally worth the trip. THERE SHOULD BE A ZERO RATING BECAUSE THAT IS WHAT THIS DEALSHIP DESERVES. More

These people here are so expert in cheating they will not let you go out until they make you their pray.I paid 11000 for a car that worth just 7900 in salinas.I guess the car is also is not in good condition. These people are very good in brain washing so please stay far away from this place. I wish i can give negative rating.I fell so bad and cheated just after first week. More
