Usually when buying a vehicle, there comes a point where something happens that can be frustrating in making the deal, which I guess is why some people dread buying a new car. Not this time. Again it could not have gone better. My 2017 Honda Pilot purchase went perfectly. In all of my years buying many cars, Jose was the youngest Sales Person I've ever dealt with, and also the best. It was the third dealership we visited looking to trade in our 2013 Honda Accord and purchase a 2017 CRV. In other area dealerships, we were so disappointed with the treatment we received from both the sale reps and then the dealership managers. We did not want to be sold. The way numbers were presentenced to us in other dealerships was so deceptive. Much like the nut under the shell. It was exhausting. We knew what we wanted and what we were willing to pay. I reluctantly agreed to visit VIP Honda in North Plainfield, NJ. We met David Otero. We told him what we wanted and what we wanted to pay. David listened. He was direct, clear and explained exactly how VIP would offer us the best deal possible. And, they did. We also met Rich Jakubowski. Both David and Rich were outstanding. They were us with warm, friendly and treated us with respect. We purchased our new CRV. I must say, we have never had such a wonderful experience buying a new car as we did with VIP Honda. VIP Honda Used Car Dealership in Plainfield - AVOID IT! Bought a used 2013 Nissan Ultima from VIP Honda Used Car dealership on Rt. 22 just 2.5 months ago. Problems with the key fob not reading. Car cons Bought a used 2013 Nissan Ultima from VIP Honda Used Car dealership on Rt. 22 just 2.5 months ago. Problems with the key fob not reading. Car consistently wouldn't start, problems with the headlight (which eventually the VIP Honda did replace, although they left the wires hanging underneath). I was instructed to take it to a Nissan dealership to have the key checked out. After car was checked it, was told the brakes are all shot, (which VIP Honda salesman told me were fine), we need 4 new tires, and the key fob needed to be re-programmed. All to the tune of over $1500! Thanks VIP Honda...for selling me a crappy car. Avoid this place like the plague...or at least have a mechanic check the car out before you buy. Lesson learned. More

If he didn't know the answer to a question I had regarding the CR-V EXL, he found out the correct answer was and didn't just tell me what I wanted to hear. His follow-up is fantastic, he is quick to respond to a call or text, and he made the deal happen! When it came time to talk with the sales manager Vanco Etimov he was personable, courteous, and not high pressure. The paperwork went very smoothly with the business manager John Castellanos. There were no surprises, he thoroughly explained all the closing documents, and he was respectful of my time. If you are in the market for a Honda you need to go the V.I.P. Honda and ask for Jose Fernandez. He will treat you right and get you the deal want without all the games! More

An very uncomfortable situation I was a victim of Hurricane Sandy and went looking for a car for both my son and myself becasue our cars were destroyed in the storm. I was put into car payments that I was not comfortable with and called the BM to let him know I was returning to the dealership. There was no acknowledgement from the BM and was left in a position where I had to follow thru with both contracts. After a while, I contacted NJDOBI for assistance and was then put into a second situation with VIP where they insisted they were "helping" me even though I was not comfortable with what they were offering. VIP made sure they told NJDOBI that they "helped me" and that was the end of that. I decided to finish my lease a few weeks early and Honda Financial was very "unprofessional" as far as the lease return process was concerned. I was so disgusted with both VIP and Honda that I returned my lease to another Honda dealership and went to another dealer. More
