I had my 2013 Explorer in twice for repairs at Uptown. After my experience with them I will never return to them again, that is unless the repairs done there do not hold up. The first time I had gone in i After my experience with them I will never return to them again, that is unless the repairs done there do not hold up. The first time I had gone in it took them a week to change out the transfer case (A common problem Ford is aware of and will not put out a recall, screw the customers right Ford?) replaced the front struts, and both rear axle seals. They charged me a diagnostic fee on top of the $100 deductible I had to pay on my warranty. The axle seals and transfer case were covered under the warranty. I forget what their diagnostic fee price was exactly...the make sure to not list it on the invoice unless I am missing it, but it is over $100, I think around $118 or so. Anyway, with my deductible I'm already in for about $218. Gets better, so I figure I will get my oil changed while it is in also, (now that's on me) mistake, they charge $59.95 for that, the tire rotation is included lol, ya think. I end up paying $1827.98, basically for an oil change and front struts, and end link replacement. Most likely, through my regular mechanic or a specialty shop such as Midas, I probably could have knocked off around $300. Lesson learned. The main reason that I am writing this. the first time I got my car back it was completely coved with dirt from the highway construction going on, some jerk there had even LITERALLY drawn a map of something in the dirt on my hood! My inside door panel (I have light sand colored interior that is basically spotless) had nice grease and oil all over it, and whatever moron that worked on my car had decided it would be also okay to use their foot to open or hold open my door. I had, and still have scratches that had ground in grease imbedded in them. I have almost never gotten a vehicle back from major service in that condition. Heck Boucher Hyundai and Ford both wash your vehicle after a simple oil change, the customer service is better there to boot. The first time I let it slide, figured I just would not go back ever again. Didn't work out though, the next day going to work I have a brand new noise that was not there when I went in. I let it go, figured maybe something to do with the transfer "breaking in". Nope, getting louder, so I called the service dept. spoke with the advisor, and he told me that I again would have to pay the diagnostic fee, and of course my deductible if it was not something to do with their install. I was livid seeing how the sound was not there when I had taken it in. I let it go for another week, then I received a mystery call from Uptown, still do not know why, the woman I spoke with listened to my complaint and kind of gave me a run around about why I waited so long to bring it back in. I told her about the advisors comment about the diagnostic fee, oh, and not being able to get me a loaner. Then she started in about how they have limited loaners, but they do have a shuttle driver. That does not work for my working hours, I start at 0700, they can not get me to work at that time. She actually asked me if I couldn't go in a little late while my car was being repaired. Really? Sorry, I'm not independently wealthy, I work hourly, and have customers depending on us. She tells me a week out they will have a loaner for me. The car goes in, of course it is not anything they did. Right rear wheel bearing, don't know for sure, but suspicious that it is directly related to the rear axle seal being replaced. Luckily it was also covered by my warranty, and they dropped the diagnostic fee, so I just paid my deductible AGAIN. I get the car back not covered in dirt this time, even better the interior of my drivers door had grease nd nice boot kick marks all over the inside. It took me about 45 min with a scrub brush and Oxy Clean to remove it. You can still faintly see some, and of course I can do nothing about the scratches from the idiot that thinks it is okay to hold or kick a door open like that. I definitely will never go back. So these glowing reviews, who did they deal with? I sure would like to meet them. I took pictures and would like to be able to post them. The really screwy part is that I went there because the company that i work for leases several vehicles from them for our management and sales team. I can be pretty sure they would never return a lease vehicle back like that from service. More
