Upstate Dodge had a used Toyota Tundra for sale and it was advertised on autotrader.com. After looking at the posted pics, which were nicely done, I called the dealership asking about the condition of th was advertised on autotrader.com. After looking at the posted pics, which were nicely done, I called the dealership asking about the condition of the truck bed. I called because it looked as though the bed was scuffed and scratched up, but I wanted the dealership have the opportunity to give me some information. When I called, I was told that the bed was perfectly fine. Prior to that I had told the sales rep that we were located quite a ways away (100 miles or so) and that was why I called with a few questions about the truck. So, my wife and I took a long ride to see the vehicle. Once we got there, the sales rep that "greeted" us was far from personable...he handed us the keys and said "here, you can take it for a ride." But, I told him I wanted to look it over first. One look at the bed, and I knew it was not going to be a good day. Not only was the bed scraped and scratched very badly, but there were several dents in the bed, with one being at least 6" in diameter. The interior had been cleaned up very well and looked fine. Then, I opened the hood to check the engine. I couldn't get the oil dipstick to release. I asked the sales rep if there were any tricks, and he didn't have any answers. Then, another sales rep came out and managed to pull it free. I couldn't believe what I saw....the dipstick was coated with what appeared to be cooked on oil, and there wasn't a drop of fresh oil on it. With that, I said that I wasn't interested and we made our exit. We didn't even get any kind of reply or expression of concern for our wasted time and gas. I can't speak for others, but for a dealership to even show a vehicle in that condition means that I don't want to purchase a vehicle there. I've sent them an email about my experience, but haven't heard a reply. Perhaps they treat their new car purchasers better, but I won't be going back! More
