From the first time that I met Kaitlyn Richardson to inquire about a new VW Sport Wagon lease, to the point that we ended up buying the new Sport Wagon,I was treated with supeb customer care, excellent inquire about a new VW Sport Wagon lease, to the point that we ended up buying the new Sport Wagon,I was treated with supeb customer care, excellent information and a non-pressured discussion of options to start driving the new car. This is how customer serve should be, and kudos to the dealership for having the likes of Kaitlyn on-board customer-facing. I am very impressed with the service, automobile quality and everything about this dealership. Craig Smith, MD More
My experience was exceptional and I can't thank Nic and the rest of the team at University VW enough for the smooth, pleasant process of leasing my new GTI. the rest of the team at University VW enough for the smooth, pleasant process of leasing my new GTI. More
I was very pleased with my purchase from University VW. I bought a certified used 2009 CC. The car was ready for a test drive within 20 minutes of my call. My sales staff (Miles DeCaro and Guy Kelly) wer I bought a certified used 2009 CC. The car was ready for a test drive within 20 minutes of my call. My sales staff (Miles DeCaro and Guy Kelly) were very knowledgeable of the car and the entire VW product line and business operation. I did extensive research on pricing prior to coming to the UVW and was able to pretty quickly negotiate a purchase price that I believe was objectively fair to both sides, and I got what I wanted on my trade in. Jon Crawford in finance was thorough and quick in getting the finance set up, and got me a better interest rate than what I had expected to pay. There were a few small post-sale service issues that needed to be followed up on, and Jeff Grant and Dominique Prevo in the service department were thorough and friendly and flexible. I have purchased cars from two other dealers in the Puget Sound area, and UVW clearly out-classed them across the board. I would have no problem referring a friend to UVW. When I'm in the market for a car again I will definitely return. More
KARINE IN INTERNET SALES MADE THIS AN AMAZING BUYING EXPERIENCE! I have had bad experiences in the past when buying a car - spending hours waiting on paperwork and working with unfriendly/pushy sales EXPERIENCE! I have had bad experiences in the past when buying a car - spending hours waiting on paperwork and working with unfriendly/pushy sales staff. This was a complete 180 from those experiences, and what a pleasant surprise! I work at Microsoft and purchased through our employee discount... thus I was able to work with Karine who handles these sorts of sales. I sent an email asking very specific questions about pricing, financing options and car availabity and stated that I wanted this particular purchase to be quick and painless... otherwise no dice. Karine replied to my email almost immediately, answering each of my questions in full and offering to complete all the paperwork before my arrival. I had test driven the car before so knew it was the one I wanted. This is my first Volkswagen, and the only one left in stock in the entire state) so I went for it! I promise you, if you work with Karine you won't be sorry. When I arrived, she greeted me with a huge smile and made me feel very comfortable (no pushy sales people here) and helped to complete the entire process in about an hour. Then she took the time to sit in the car with me and help with everything from adjusting my mirrors to setting up the bluetooth hands free. She was like that favorite aunt we all have (or want), and ended the experience with a huge (and sincere) hug, then giving me her card and telling me to call her if I ever have any problems at all - with the car, with getting a loaner car during service, or any concerns/questions about the car. Simply wonderful! Also Jon, the business manager (really, the person that helps you fill out all the finance paperwork) was also very friendly, easy to work with and, while he asks if you want to add some additional services to the car, was never pushy. I said no to some items and that was that (very different than when buying my last car). I may have just become a VW lover for life. Fingers crossed the maintenance process is as fabulous as the buying process. More
From beginning to end, our new car purchase was an excellent experience. We were shopping for a Golf R, a limited production car. We had visited another area VW dealership and we were told that "Golf excellent experience. We were shopping for a Golf R, a limited production car. We had visited another area VW dealership and we were told that "Golf R's are very difficult to get" and "why not consider a GTI, since it's basically the same car". At University VW, though, instead of discouraging us from buying the car that we want, Sean was excited that we were interested in the Golf R. University VW had an allocated Golf R that someone else decided not to buy, but it was still being built. Since we were also considering the new Mini Countryman, we told Sean we needed to go look at the Mini one more time before making the decision. We drove up to the Mini dealership and took one last look at the Countryman and picked up a brochure to compare dimensions, specs, etc. When we got back to University VW, we had a load of questions for Sean. He brought out brochures, we all sat down to compare specs and dimensions and ultimately decided that the Golf R was the right car for us. Before putting down our deposit, though, Sean wanted to make sure we took a test drive in the closest thing to the Golf R, which happened to be a 4 door GTI. While it is close to the Golf R, Sean was sure to explain what the differences would be while we were on our test drive. When we got back from the test drive, Sean also volunteered to take us to the employee parking garage to let us look at 2 Golf R's owned by 2 of the other sales people at the dealership. He even got the keys and started the car up for us, had us sit in it, check out the interior, kick the tires, so to speak. It was apparent that Sean was a car guy, as were some of the other sales people at University VW. We put down the deposit and the month-long wait began. Sean was great about keeping us updated: letting us know when the car landed in TX, when it was put on the truck, and when it would arrive at the dealership. From there, the paperwork was painless, Sean's vehicle walk-through was very thorough, and it was obvious that Sean was excited for us, which left no doubt that we'd purchased the right car from the right place. I can't say enough good things about University! I have bought 3 cars from them and each time was an amazing experience. They even picked me up in the car and brought me to the dealership to complete one bought 3 cars from them and each time was an amazing experience. They even picked me up in the car and brought me to the dealership to complete one of the sales! Amazing service from the sales and finance staff! They are always courteous and I have never felt pressured at all. No hard sale here! They were always very attentive to what I was looking for each time. "Heck yeah" should be an option for the recommendation question! Also, I will only go to University to service my cars. Joe in the service dept. is extremely thorough and they are always doing whatever it takes to make sure I leave satisfied. I wholeheartedly recommend them as well! More
First off, I would like to say I came to University Volkswagen as a first time buyer. I explained to the salesperson that I had never bought a "new" car before. He was very helpful and friendly. We wal Volkswagen as a first time buyer. I explained to the salesperson that I had never bought a "new" car before. He was very helpful and friendly. We walked around the lot together and I spotted an 08 Rabbit. I explained what my budget was and that I would be willing to pay $15k for that particular car. He said, "OK, lets go get the paperwork started!" I thought we were going to write up the paperwork on the car for $15k. I was wrong. The finance manager came out and flashed a paper at me and sweet talked me to think I was getting the car for $15k... When everything was almost complete I was meeting with the finance manager and getting ready to sign all the paperwork. As I was reading through the paperwork I noticed the sale price of the car still said $16,999. I asked why this still said that. The finance manager left the room and the salesperson came back in. He explained to me that the financing was already approved and with my trade in value and $1000 cash down I was still in the $15k range. I told him this is not what we discussed. He apologized and said there must have been a misunderstanding on my part. He left the room and came back in 5 minutes later and told me they would reduce the price to $16,500. I was shocked. They completely tried to take advantage of me because I was a first time buyer and didn't really know what I was doing. I was very disappointed and will never go back to any of the University dealerships because of this. I went to Campbell Nelson instead... That was the best decision I made. More
In every business and business transaction there can be bumps in the road. The true measure of a business is how the business handles the bumps. I have bought a lot of cars over the years from many dealers bumps in the road. The true measure of a business is how the business handles the bumps. I have bought a lot of cars over the years from many dealers. There are very few that have the fortitude and savy to handle bumps...they didnt measure up. University did. This is a dealership you can count on. Larry Downer the sales manager is a stand-up guy and Jameson is as sincere and customer focused as you could ever expect in a car salesman. We live 150 miles away but as long as we are in the Northwest we will make the drive and buy VW, and maybe Audi one day, from University . University does measure up. They earned my business. More
I can't say enough about the awesome experience I had when I recently leased my new Eos from University Volkswagen. My salesperson, Miles DeCaro, was extraordinarily knowledgeable, easy to talk to, an when I recently leased my new Eos from University Volkswagen. My salesperson, Miles DeCaro, was extraordinarily knowledgeable, easy to talk to, and not at all pushy. I've had the typical car dealership experience where they try to sell you on a car you don't really want just so they can move inventory, or try to up-sell you into a car you can't afford or extras you don't need. This was the polar opposite of that. Miles seemed genuinely interested in finding the car that was best for me. When it came time to go to the finance office, I ended up getting an amazing deal and I didn't have to sit through a lame/intimidating sales pitch about all the extra stuff I I needed to buy. It was great. I did have one issue with my car a couple days after I brought it home--my windshield wipers were making a weird squeaky noise as they reached the top and bottom of their arc (which is crazy annoying when you live in Seattle and need to use your windshield wipers pretty regularly). I called Miles about it, and he got back to me right away. He took care of the problem the next day, and I haven't had any issues since then. I would wholeheartedly recommend car shopping at University Volkswagen. Miles was a great salesperson, and University really takes care of its customers. More

I went to pick my car up and found my radio to be completely dead. They took my car back, again, and gave me a loaner car. 6. My paperwork clearly said to return my loaner car by 8pm on monday. I have copies. At 9:30am monday Service Manager Philip Spagnoli left a rude, threatening message on my voicemail demanding the loaner car back and telling me I'd have to pay $60 for a rental car charge. I called Miles Davis and he got that sorted. 7. No apologies whatsoever for their mistakes, except from Philip in the beginning, for losing my car. 8. I get my car back and alarm malfunctioning. I drop it off. I tell Kendra to check my alarm as a result of the electrical surge. "No problem." I write on the bill I need to approve any estimates or charges first, just to cover my bases. Never hear anything until car is finished. 9. I go to pick up my car and they tell me I owe them $116 for their labor to find out what they did wrong!! I of course, refuse. Philip makes us wait 20 minutes while he kicks back on the phone. We leave, and leave my car there. I tell them to have him call me. 10. He calls and is very rude. I tell him I won't pay for these charges, I never authorized them. He says if I don't, and don't come pick up my car, he will charge me $45 a day for every day it is there. I am furious. Miles Davis is away on Christmas Holiday. 11. We go in the next day, on Christmas Eve, and pay for the car. They didn't even bother to vaccum it. Electrical still malfunctioning and gauges now flicker when power changes. 12. File with Better Business Bureau. 13. Never, ever go back to University VW, tell everyone I know. More
