I went into Kia University Huntsville for the possible purchase of a vehicle. I am not only perplexed but extremely aggravated to wake up to alerts that 8 hard inquiries have hit my credit report when I O purchase of a vehicle. I am not only perplexed but extremely aggravated to wake up to alerts that 8 hard inquiries have hit my credit report when I ONLY gave authorization for 1. I was neither asked/told that my credit would be ran 7 additional times by the sales person or the finance department. Which the finance department should no better than to do without prior authorization. I understand that the ultimate goal is to SELL the car but it should NEVER supercede good business ethics. This type of back handed, unthoughtful and unethical type of behavior ADVERSELY affects my credit score and diminishes my purchasing power. As I explained to my sales representative when I FIRST met came in of the apprehension of running my credit bcuz I was already fighting identity theft to restore my credit with the bureaus so I would NEVER AUTHORIZE my credit to be ran 8x..THATS RIDICULOUS AND IT became an UNSCRUPULOUS & ILLEGAL BUSINESS PRACTICE when i was not alerted or asked prior to running my credit 7 additional times..YOU DON'T & CANNOT DO THAT TO PEOPLE...ITS NOT LEGAL. The decision of how many times you run someone else's credit is NOT up to the finance dept to decide. You must ask the customers permission for each and every time you are running their credit...PERIODTT Needless to say I will be contacting a lawyer as well as leaving a review regarding this experience with the FINANCE TEAM on every platform I see that Kia University is listed to WARN others of the illegal practices being used there. I went to look at a vehicle that I seen online. I ended up buying the car and the staff was wonderful to me. There was no pressure to purchase like other places have done me. I would most definitely recommend that if you are looking for a good vehicle that you go to Kia and let them know your budget and they do what they can to keep you in that budget. More
I had a great experience at University KIA this past week. Alan McKoy, Nick Bell, and Sharon Ethridge were all just the best. Alan (AJ) helped me find just the right car, the negotiating was agreeable a week. Alan McKoy, Nick Bell, and Sharon Ethridge were all just the best. Service need to do better at customer service. Price given to me from service department was different from rate at dealership. Service tech was rude and said if I didn’t want the service I could Price given to me from service department was different from rate at dealership. Service tech was rude and said if I didn’t want the service I could go an express oil place. Accused me of not talking to the service department at that location, it was from corporate, which wasn’t true, I called that location specifically, as I always do. I had to wait 15-20 minutes to talk with management, to get my issue resolved. Not sure if I would use Kia’s service department again. More
Ms. Stokes was the best. I stopped by the dealership to see what they had on the lot.. Didn't see what i wanted. Ms. Stokes asked my questions to understand what i was looking for. Told me they had some see what they had on the lot.. Didn't see what i wanted. Ms. Stokes asked my questions to understand what i was looking for. Told me they had some on order that should be delivered within a week or two. She called me when the new ones came in, so i stopped by. Found exactly what i wanted. Was able to get together on the price and i drove away with a new Kia. Thanks Ms. Stokes. More
