Summary: over-priced service, including garbage fees tacked on. Do yourself a favor and sort the reviews by “lowest first”. Then look for a more reputable service provider. Took my ‘22 Stinger in tacked on. Do yourself a favor and sort the reviews by “lowest first”. Then look for a more reputable service provider. Took my ‘22 Stinger in for a manufacturer recall repair. This is very profitable work for auto dealerships. You’re welcome, Union County Kia. I requested an oil change while there. Service advisor calls to inform that the oil drain plug is stripped with an estimated $200 to repair. My bad here, of course, as I told them to fix it. I mis-understood, as I thought it was a cross-thread stripped bolt. That would make sense for a $200 cost. No, the bolt head was stripped (presumably by the last person who did an oil change on the car). I’m confident a spray of WD-40 and a vice grips would’ve removed the bolt in 5 minutes. Union County Kia charges $195/hour for service work. They added a $34 tire rotation; that I did not request. Then they added a $49.44 “shop supplies” fee - above and beyond the costs for the oil change materials and the $5.47 drain bolt. When challenged, the service advisor told me this fee is automatically added for ‘general supplies’ and that is nothing she can do ! Pure Garbage Fee. This is on top of the profitable recall repair that they billed to Kia and the ridiculous hourly rate and the unrequested rotation. Now, to add insult to injury, the service order stated, in all caps, “this vehicle has never been in this shop for service …” Talk about covering your xxx… my car HAS been in that shop for other warranty service + oil change. Why do you suppose they felt the need to add this inaccurate comment ? My experience is precisely why so many car dealerships have such a bad reputation for service work. I will never go back and I hope this review causes just one person to NOT go to UCK for paid service work More
