Two Friends Auto Sales

I bought a '97 BMW 318ti from Two Friends Auto in Brooklyn located on Coles St. The car failed the NJ State Inspection on 5/20/10 for a myriad of reasons, two of which are the horn was inoperable and Brooklyn located on Coles St. The car failed the NJ State Inspection on 5/20/10 for a myriad of reasons, two of which are the horn was inoperable and the air-bag light was on, which is an automatic fail in New Jersey for either. I took the car to my BMW mechanic and what they found was horrifying! They found that the airbag system was tampered with, specifically, the wires were cut! They also found that an entire row of light bulbs had been removed from the cluster. I paid over $800 to repair the airbag system and replace the cluster lights. After i bought the car, i drove over 3000 miles between NJ to SC to ME... all without knowing there was no airbag! It sickens me to think what could have happened to me and my mother & sister had i'd gotten into an accident. I communicated my concerns to the salesman who sold me the car in both phone conversations and two extensive letters (3-4 pgs. long). They responded to my first letter, basically, stating they will not reimburse me for anything as i bought the car as-is, no warranty. If we were simply talking about common repairs to get the car in a condition to pass the NJ State Inspection then sure i understand that. However, we're talking about the dealer selling a vehicle without an operating air bag, and i don't believe they can legally do that. The car basically was not in any condition to be sold because of the major safety aspect. Also, while i fully understand i purchased the vehicle with no warranty, the dealer still has an obligation to a buyer to sell a car that is not a safety hazard to them and to others, whether that obligation be moral, legal or ethical. They have an obligation to sell a vehicle that will pass the State Inspection. They have an obligation to sell a vehicle that can actually be sold! I filed a case against Two Friends Auto in Brooklyn Small Claims Court because i strongly feel they knowingly authorized illegal tampering of the airbag system as they knew the car would not pass any state inspection in its current condition, at the time. My assumption is that they bought the vehicle very inexpensively from the auction and instead of putting money into the car to repair it, they authorized the illegal tampering of the airbag and cluster lights, assuming if no lights came on during the state inspection the vehicle would pass the inspection. The case was postponed three times, once by the court and twice by them. They also have a second case against them filed by another buyer... both cases were called together, lmaooo! These people should NOT be in business! DO NOT PURCHASE A CAR FROM THIS DEALERSHIP! More

Very comfortable office and very warm.As I was in the dealership a customer was in the office who just purchased a car last week and brought their cousin in to buy a car as well. I spoke to the customer privatley and she told me that the place was great and this is the second person they have brought their to purchase a car. Will reccomend to friends and family. More
