I came into Tustin Toyota to have my car serviced because there are few aftermarket places that will work on my Toyota Venza. In my past experiences with other dealer shops, I have always had the feeling th there are few aftermarket places that will work on my Toyota Venza. In my past experiences with other dealer shops, I have always had the feeling that my business was not appreciated, as well as being over-charged for items completed. However, the Service Manager (Javier Bernal) that worked with me has changed my perception of dealer service repairs. He was courteous, respectful, and seemed to really appreciate my business. He actually broke down the services that were completed and explained to me why they should be completed. Based on his actions, I would gladly return to their service shop to have my vehicle repaired/maintained at any time. Sean Willis More

First thing first, I shopped the car to death between Tustin, Orange, and Power working the price and options that I wanted a new Tundra 4x4. I am a man who really isn't interested in the games of buying a car or the need to get the better of another person in this scenario, while I do appreciate getting a good deal for myself and a reasonable deal for the seller of a car. After all the last two cars I purchased were on cars direct, minimizing the need to talk to a salesman. I worked with Bill over a period of a few days who researched and found the car I wanted, Bill had it transferred to his dealership without mentioning this to me and patiently waited for me to make up my decision to buy from his dealership. After a few days he told me they had the car on the lot that I wanted and I should come down to take a look at it. The truck was in fact what I wanted. I drove down that night and continued to work on Bill to get additional options thrown in (some successful, some not), Bill continued to show the upmost professionalism during this time never pressuring me nor making me feel obligated in any way by way of the transfer or time spent with him. After an hour or so I left. The next day I called him to let him know that I would be in the next morning to buy the car and he asked me to postpone the arrival by a few hours to get a more favorable working manager (Ricardo). I arrived on schedule, reiterated my proposal which I knew was an amazing deal (for me), they met me halfway on the options and agreed to the price I wanted to pay. So I bought the truck. Finance guy was great, did a short salesman pitch on extended warranty and fabric protection (his job) but was not persistent on it. Overall I felt respected, well treated, and actually happy to deal with the dealership and salespersons. While I don't expect everyone to experience this process like i did, all I can say is go in prepared, treat everyone with respect, and work with the same guys as I did. You'll have a fighting chance for a great deal and excellent experience. More
I went to this dealer few years back when I had a very sour experience. The 'sales managers' at this location have 0 idea about customer service. They would pressurize and disrespect you to a point where sour experience. The 'sales managers' at this location have 0 idea about customer service. They would pressurize and disrespect you to a point where you would walk away from an easy deal. I went to this dealer again (reluctantly) to help a friend who lived close to the dealership. We test drove and after their back and forth 'price negotiating good cop bad cop' technique, comes the sales manager who was extremely disrespectful and showed as if he was doing a favor to even talk to us. As close we were from filing a deal, we walked away. I would never recommend this place to my family, friends and coworkers. More
I highly recommend Tustin Toyota. I have had my 2003 Toyota Highlander serviced there for many years. My service advisor Javier Bernal always gives my vehicle his personal time and attention and ultimately solves the problem. Tustin Toyota and Javier Bernal's combination of skill, experience is exactly what I had been looking for in a mechanic. Additionally, Javier's professional ethics are superb. I am confident he would never misrepresent a problem or overcharge me in any way. Javier is very dependable, reliable, and hard-working and it's very easy to schedule appointments. I have never had anything but a satisfying experience when having my car serviced by Javier Bernal or Tustin Toyota. More

Just last week, I caught them lying to me about which parts to fix. When they told me it would cost $2000 to fix parts, I became suspicious and went to go through all the history. Then I discovered that I was told to fix two parts ($400) that were already fixed only 3 months ago. Furious, I went back and asked them what’s going on. The serviceman looked puzzled and effortlessly told me that mechanics from 3 months ago must have not fixed things correctly (which means I’ve been driving an unfixed car for 3 months even though I paid). The next day, I came back to talk to the head manager, who did a car checkup himself. He told me that those two parts were fine and that the previous serviceman was wrong (speechless). For Toyota owners who visit Tustin Toyota service department, think about the following question: Every time you went there to do a simple oil change, do they seem to tell you to fix certain parts, which comes up to about $200-500? Remember that $2000 fix that I talked about in the beginning? I actually visited 3 different and trusted repair centers; all of them told me that Toyota’s recommendations are not required at this time. They also told me to come back for the next oil change and estimated it would cost less than $500 to clean up and fix everything as opposed to Toyota’s $2000. Knowing that this is a serious problem and after talking to a couple of mechanics, I came up with the following conclusions: 1. Tustin Toyota will tell you to fix parts even though it’s not an emergency. 2. Tustin Toyota browses your past history and will intentionally tell you to fix parts you don’t need. In other words, Tustin Toyota will lie to get your money. I highly recommend finding either another Toyota service center or a trusted local place. More

He switched us over to a closer who was more pressured. I was hoping we could give a deposit and close all the paperwork the next day, but no way. In any case the car seems great and we got a fair bluebook price for it. More
WARNING: THIS PLACE CHEATED ME IN SEVERAL WAYS! My hybrid car was towed there because it would not start. CHEAT #1: After a diagnosis (which I wonder if they ever did), they called and told me it needs a new car was towed there because it would not start. CHEAT #1: After a diagnosis (which I wonder if they ever did), they called and told me it needs a new hybrid (HV) battery for $3600. They said the warranty was void b/c car was a salvage title (damage was minor and nowhere near the battery which is behind the back seat). CHEAT #2: When I asked if they tried to charge the HV battery, they said a charger does not exist (it does). CHEAT #3: I insisted they call in a regional service rep (who can bring a special HV battery charger) and try to charge it before telling me they need to replace it. A week later, they called and said the wiring harness is damaged and will cost $1800 to replace. I argued that only a small plastic part of the fuse block was loosely attached (a plastic mounting tab was broken) which had nothing to do with electrical function. I went to the dealer and asked Roy to show me the wiring damage. Roy said they didn't spend enough time on it to pinpoint the wiring damage, and if I didn't want to do the work I can take the car without charge. He said they won't charge for the diagnosis (no wonder, they didn't do anything they can charge me for except wild guesses about what was wrong) or storage or anything. CHEAT #4: When I saw my car there, the car windows were wide open and plastic sheets were taped on the car, flapping in the breeze. It had rained hard the week before. I asked Roy why my windows were open, and he said the battery had died while they were checking my car (NOTE: IT IS A BRAND NEW TOYOTA BATTERY, FULLY CHARGED WHEN I TOWED THE CAR THERE. I HAVE TO CONCLUDE THE TECHNICIAN KILLED THE BATTERY BY LEAVING THE IGNITION ON A FULL DAY WITHOUT A BATTERY CHARGER CONNECTED. THEN, INSTEAD OF CHARGING IT, THEY LEFT THE CAR OUTSIDE FOR WEEKS IN THE RAIN WITH PLASTIC SHEET POORLY TAPED TO IT, FLAPPING AROUND, LETTING RAIN INTO THE CAR! WOULD YOU LIKE YOUR CAR TREATED THIS WAY?). As I left, I told Roy I'll have the car towed out without repairs and to please charge the battery they killed so that it can be rolled in "N". This hybrid won't shift to and stay in "N" unless the battery is charged. CHEAT #5: I went there with a tow truck on a Saturday to take the car (no charge, remember what Roy said) but Roy said they were too busy and to come back!! He hadn't charged the battery either. He said not to come on a Saturday because they don't want my car "blocking their busy Saturday traffic"! THE BIG CHEAT #6: Before I towed the car there, I called and asked if they charge storage if a car is not picked up for a month of longer. They stated they do not charge storage. A few weeks later, I got a letter from Tustin Toyota that I owe over $2000 for storage COUNTED FROM THE DAY I FIRST TOWED THE CAR TO THEM!! I CALLED ROY AND WE ARGUED BUT HE SAID THAT WAS WHAT I OWED. PERIOD. HE SAID DESPITE WHAT ANYONE TOLD ME ON THE PHONE BEFORE I DROPPED OFF THE CAR, THE PAPERWORK I SIGNED WHEN I DROPPED OFF THE CAR CONTAINS LANGUAGE THAT THEY CAN CHARGE STORAGE. SUMMARY: THE WIRING HARNESS (THEY TRIED TO CHEAT ME FOR $1800 TO REPLACE) HAS NOTHING FUNCTIONALLY WRONG, ONLY A SMALL COSMETIC DEFECT. A COMPETENT TECHNICIAN KNOWS THIS. I BELIEVE ROY KNEW THIS. I GOT MY CAR BACK, HAD THE HV BATTERY CHARGED AND IT STARTED RIGHT UP!! (THEY TRIED TO CHEAT ME FOR $3600 TO REPLACE IT). THEY NEVER TRIED TO CHARGE THE HV BATTERY, BECAUSE IF THEY DID IT WOULD HAVE SOLVED THE PROBLEM FOR UNDER 1 HOUR LABOR. THEY KILLED MY NEW AUXILIARY BATTERY THROUGH NEGLIGENCE, LEFT IT DISCHARGED FOR WEEKS (BAD FOR BATTERY), LEFT IT OUTSIDE IN THE RAINS WITH WINDOWS WIDE OPEN (LEAKING RAIN AND DIRT INTO CAR, GETTING DOOR SWITCHES WET AND SEATS FILTHY WITH DIRT AND DUST), LIED OT ME ABOUT NOT CHARGING STORAGE, THEN HELD MY CAR RANSOM UNLESS I PAID OVER $2000 FOR NOTHING -- NO WORK WHATSOEVER WAS PERFORMED!! ONLY LIES AND CHEATING AND SCAMS!! MY CAR HAS MANY FRESH SCRATCHES ON THE BODY FROM WHEN IT WAS PARKED AT THEIR SERVICE LOT! THE AUXILIARY BATTERY IS DAMAGED. THE INTERIOR IS FILTHY FROM RAIN AND DUST. I OWN 7 TOYOTAS, AND BOUGHT 2 NEW CARS FROM TUSTIN TOYOTA, BUT I WILL NEVER DO BUSINESS OF ANY KIND AGAIN WITH TUSTIN TOYOTA!! IF THEY SAY THEY WON'T CHARGE STORAGE, GET IT IN WRITING BEFORE YOU DROP OFF YOUR CAR! BETTER YET, TAKE YOUR CAR ELSEWHERE OR PREPARE TO GET LIES AND NEW DAMAGE TO IT!! More
We started our search for a 2011 or 2010 Scion TC in Orange County where we live. We visited Tustin Toyota. The sales manager, Ricardo and sales person Sandra were very friendly, not pushy, and most Orange County where we live. We visited Tustin Toyota. The sales manager, Ricardo and sales person Sandra were very friendly, not pushy, and most importantly, dealt with us honestly. They explained to us that the 2011 Scions are a fixed price and there is really no way we could get the payment we wanted with the amount of money we were willing to put down for a lease. They did not have a 2010, nor did they make an effort to call another dealership so we left. I then called Toyota of Orange. I spoke with Paulo and he explained that he didn't have a 2010. I told him what Tustin Toyota said about the 2011's. He said absolutely NOT TRUE. I told him what I wanted to put down and what monthly payment I was looking for. He said he would do some research and call me back. He called back "Good News" we can get you into that car on the terms I had outlined for him. I said , I don't want to drive over there just to be told something else. He assured me. We get there, and guess what??? Bill comes out from financing with the numbers 300% greater than was quoted on the phone. "Oh but we could give you this deal on a corolla". They flat out lied and then tried the "bait and switch". On the way out, Bill hands me his card and told us to think about it and come back. I said "you have got to be kidding. you lie to get me in here and you think I am coming back?" We had purchased 2 cars from this dealership in the past, but I WILL NEVER GO BACK!!!!!!! We then called Power Toyota in Irvine. Humphrey said he had found the car we wanted in Long Beach. He was going to pick it up the next day. We were going down to sign papers, when Humphrey called and said in was a manual not an automatic. He found the car in San Diego at Bob Bakers'. I really appreciated the information. We then call Bob Baker Toyota, and Patrick - the sales manager of the year - said he would deliver the car to us that evening curb service. John and Tony, came up to Orange County, stopped at two locations for signing papers and delivered the car with a smile. This is not only the best service I've received at a dealership - this is one of the best customer experiences I have ever had!!! You guys totally exceeded my expectations. I told you what I what car and what terms I wanted and you delivered - literally! I will drive down to Bob Baker toyota for my next car - no question!! I can't thank you all enough. More
