He travels to automobile auctions in Florida and other southeastern states to bring back low mileage cars that were part of rental pools for vacationers, he says. "The cars down there seem to be more gently used by people on vacation than by busy road warriors who go from place to place at break-neck speed to get their jobs done. And new cars put into rental service down south seem to suffer less damage because of their better weather and road conditions down there versus the snowbound northeast. The windows and bodies don't suffer damage from flying road cinders, the tires aren't beaten up by pot-holes, and the under carriages are not damaged by chemicals spread onto icy roads."
Our EXCLUSIVE automobile consultant, who has been in the business since 1987, targets vehicles that have only been in service for six to 12 months and have been treated well as evidenced by their maintenance and service records. Our consultant physically goes to each auction site because he says you can't tell from a video or picture if there is body or interior damage. He also looks very carefully at the AutoCheck and CarFax history reports to evaluate the past ownership. Only reason I gave a lower rating for customer service is because it took FOREVER to get through the purchase of our Jeep. We were left sitting several times, and even went for lunch at one point. First, I am very happy with my Jeep so far. LOVE satellite radio. I appreciate Joe's patience with me. I understand his goal is to sell cars and it took me several weeks to come to that end. He kept in contact, but did not overly pester me with whether or not I was ready to buy. I was a little disappointed that I had to pay a little more than the original numbers we hashed out, but again, I took my sweet time in coming to a decision and was still able to recieve a rebate and end up with a "reasonable" car payment. This is my first new car in a decade - I vacillate from being exctied to experiencing buyer's remorse. The day I received my car was quite an experience. I appreciate that Joe was willing to drive to Scranton in the rain to pick up my vehicle, but the paperwork and the wait was quite long. Maybe an offer of some coffee or at least someone to come an explain that the place was very busy that day and why I had to wait would have been helpful (I kept thinking something was wrong,and I wasn't going to be able to make my purchase that day.)? Overall, I am pleased with my purchase. More
