I should have known better! I purchase my Toyota Sequoia back in 2004 and it was a good purchase and the best vehicle I've ever own. All the service was always performed at the d I purchase my Toyota Sequoia back in 2004 and it was a good purchase and the best vehicle I've ever own. All the service was always performed at the dealership until May of 2017. I was leaking power steering fluid and before I could get to the dealer the power steering went out. I had it towed to Stamford Toyota for repairs within a couple of hours they called me back with a repair quote of over $6500.00 parts and labor. It's a 2004 in great shape, but I couldn't give them the okay to go ahead, instead I had it towed to a repair shop in Greenwich Ct of all places. They immediately put it on the lift to investigated the issue. After about 30 minutes they made a few phone calls and gave me a repair quote of $1200.00 parts and labor. All of the parts that didn't need replacing Toyota of Stamford was going to replace because they consider it part of the assembly whether broken or not. This shop repaired what was broken and not an item more and saved me $5300.00 which I can now put towards my wife's new vehicle. The bottom line: Yes, I will still use this dealership - but only during the cars prime years when repairs are mostly No Charge. depending on dealership policy. Dealers repair prices - they are inflated, so that they can take off a few dollars to make you feel that your getting something, but you are still over paying. More
