AWESOME experience with our 2018 Sienna Purchase We purchased a 2018 Toyota Sienna from Toyota of Poway and were very impressed with the outstanding service, professionalism and care that Rob McCalli We purchased a 2018 Toyota Sienna from Toyota of Poway and were very impressed with the outstanding service, professionalism and care that Rob McCallister provided our family! Rob did not pressure us into making a purchase immediately or same day as most dealerships do. He found us exactly what we were looking for and although my wife said she wanted to think about it he said no problem and held the vehicle for us. Even though it took us a few days to make up our mind, Rob patiently waited and touched base with us to answer any questions. We were so impressed with him we returned and made our purchase. Rob ensured we received the best price. Although it has been a couple of months since our purchase, Rob calls and checks in to see if we have any questions and offers his expertise on anything about our new Sienna. If you are in the market for a new Toyota see Rob McCallister at Toyota of Poway for the best customer service and sales experience ever! More

I had called with ques We came over from the Palm Springs area mid January to check out a used Toyota Solara convertible which was in terrific shape. I had called with questions the day before and spoke to Martin Fernandez, a manager, who was engaged on the phone and totally disinterested once we arrived after a 2 3/4 hr drive. After checking how the car drove, we took it to an appointment we had made with a mechanic at his local garage. (This was Robbie's Garage and he and his employees were really pleasant and thorough and assessed the car as worthwhile to buy.) Four wasted hours passed waiting to finalize the Poway deal to pay and to sign off on 45 minutes of marketing hype for expensive packages they urged us to buy to "protect" ourselves. We left there late at 8 pm for our return drive to Palm Springs due to so much hype and forced waiting. Not until the next day did we realize the only key Poway had given us was the valet key which would not lock the floor security trunk lock when the top is down and no key to open the glove box. How sloppy was that of them? Worse was their No Assistance or willingness to pay about $200 for a Master Key to be provided for us to operate the car's features. Car purchases naturally include the Master Key but not at Poway where their only interest is in how much profit they reap from a customer. Toyota headquarters in Dallas / Fort Worth were responsive quickly to my email complaint. They contacted Poway about reconsidering their unprofessional conduct to us resulting in Poway reimbursing us the new key cost which was made in Palm Springs. So we warn you to be wary of this dealership: they are aggressive marketers, not trustworthy and choose not to behave helpfully, fairly or professionally. The Good News is we love this Solara convertible which drives superbly and is a totally Fun car for the California sunshine. More

He was so pushy and annoying I didn't even want to do business at this point. I just wanted numbers. He made me fill out a credit app which I specifically told him I don't want my credit run. He told me don't worry and gave me the fist punch. What an idiot. Well they ran my credit when I specifically said not to. The numbers they gave me included an alarm and gap insurance which I said I didn't want. They play games with customers and are very dishonest. I could tell by the way the sales manager Patrick conducts himself. Stay away from this dealer! More
Very poor sale experience at Toyota of Poway My wife and I visited the Toyota of Poway dealership and were greeted by a nice sales person named, John Grubich. We told him we were interested in s My wife and I visited the Toyota of Poway dealership and were greeted by a nice sales person named, John Grubich. We told him we were interested in seeing a new 2015 Highlander. John was very pleasant and he showed us a number of different models and even accommodated our request to see how well our kid's sports equipment fit into the back of the SUV. We took a car for a test drive and told John that we are comparing this car to some others and would like their best quote. John returned with his sales manager, Hugh Morris. He took the sales quote and broke down each number. He circled and explained that we were getting a substantial discount below MSRP. During my lunch hour the next day, I called the sales rep John and left a message on his cell phone that we were interested in executing the sale on the Toyota Highlander that we negotiated the night before. John called me back promptly and was excited about the sale. He said he was going to go into work and start working on the paper work. About 30-minutes after the call from John, I received a call from the sales manager, Mr. Hough Morris. I thought it was a courtesy call and was going to congratulate on the impending purchase. He asked me if I had the paperwork from last night and said that "he wanted to check on one number". I said sure and read him what he had given as a quote. He then said that "the number is not correct". We should have only received a $1,000 discount and the price we should have been quoted was substantially more. I was shocked. A $1,000 discount below MSRP was laughable and well over invoice price. This was a complete waste of my time and we would have never even considered an offer so high. Mr. Morris then had the gall to ask if we were interested in the "new" price? At no point in this brief conversation did Mr. Morris ever use the words "I'm sorry". He even said that I should have known that this discount was too much because it was too good of a deal. I was flustered and not sure how to respond, as this call was so totally unexpected. I was not even angry at this point, just confused and I responded along the lines of that I was in shock that and did not understand how this could happen and that I had a written quote from the dealership. At this point, Mr. Morris quickly muttered something that I could not understand and then HUNG UP ON ME! This was beyond belief. I understand that mistakes are made, but this call was handled so unbelievably poorly - the whole call lasted no more than 3-minutes. I left a voice mail message for the general manager of the car dealership and also sent a detailed email explaining my experience. I did not receive a call back for 3-days. At this point I was done with Toyota and my wife and I purchased another car from another manufacturer / dealership. A few days after the call with Mr. Morris I received a voice mail and email response from the general manager that he tried to get a hold of me. I responded that we had already purchased another car, but if he wanted to hear about my experience with Mr Morris he could call me back. I explained in my email him that my wife and I have owned 4 previous Toyota cars. I have not heard from him since. This dealership DOES NOT CARE - their culture their stinks. We purchased a Prius V from Kearny Mesa 2 years ago and had a good experience. Be warned - I would avoid Poway of Toyota. I would avoid this dealership at all costs. I get that a sales manager can make a mistake on a quote, but this was handled so unbelievably poorly. The sales manager, Mr. Morris, was arrogant and never apologized for his mistake. Honestly, who hangs up on a customer? More importantly, if you are running a car dealership and your sales manager hangs up on a customer wouldn't you want to hear about their side of the story. It's simple - THEY DON'T CARE. More
Toyota Of Poway - Very Dissatisfied Customer June 30-July 2 Vincent Castro, As stated in my voice mail to you yesterday, I am very disappointed in the lack of integrity and customer service your team has dem Vincent Castro, As stated in my voice mail to you yesterday, I am very disappointed in the lack of integrity and customer service your team has demonstrated over the past three days. I asked you to return my call and that must have been low on your priorities because it never happened. I was lied to and mislead by two members of your staff which is a matter I do not take lightly. Rest assured I am not finished voicing my dissatisfaction with your sales and management team. Here are the facts: TOYOTA TACOMA VIN #3TMLU4EN9EM159696 & VIN #3TML04EN8EM159494 6/30/14 7:00 Did an online inquiry to Poway Toyota looking for a Tacoma, 4x4, TRD, Tow Package, Premium Sound with Navigation. 8:55 Received an email thanks for inquiry from Al Maxon Internet Sales Manager. 11:06 Al sent me an email with the specs on Vin #3TMLU4EN9EM159696 11:30 Spoke to Al on the phone and we discussed the MSRP ($32,894 discounted from $34,365) and OTD price of $35,962.67 on the truck. I advised I would get back to him in approximately 1 hour. 12:50 Called Al and we agree on the above price. Al said the truck was at another dealership and would be at the Poway dealership in about 1 hour. He said he is currently with a customer and then he would head to Ramona to pick me up. 14:27 Al texted me saying "Hi Mike … I wanted to give you a heads up that I am still with the customer. I will let you know when on the my way. Thanks Al." 16:01 Al texted me " I am getting ready to head your way will be in touch soon". 16:02 I texted Al back "Is the truck at your dealership now?" 16:10 Called Al - he said the truck is still being unloaded at the other dealership . Still need to PDI. Will be ready later today or in the morning. 7/1/14 12:30 Al called and said the truck (VIN listed above) was already committed to someone else at that dealership. He is now searching for another one. How can this be? I had an agreement on that particular VIN #? 13:03 Spoke to Al again - he said he was on it. 14:50 Called Al again - he he is now searching 200 miles out up through Thousand Oaks. Said there was one more in San Diego (VIN#3TML04EN8EM159494) but Mossey Toyota (Mission Bay) said they had a customer coming to look at it between 5 & 6pm. I requested he get with his GM and have him put pressure on Mossey's GN to release the truck. 15:08 I called the main number at Poway and asked Jessica for the name of the GM. She said Rufis Keller was the General Manager of Sales. She transferred me to Rufis and he said he had just discussed with Al and to give him till 5pm to resolve. Also chasing 2 other trucks. 15:30 Called Rufis again to let him know I was not trying to circumvent Al's efforts, but, getting very concerned since I was told I had a truck ready to go yesterday afternoon. Rufis said they sorted this out with Mossey and and he will have the truck at Poway this evening. I told him strangely enough I just got a call from Patrick Vidal from Mossey responding to my email inquiry of 6/27 and asked if I was still interested in the truck (VIN#3TML04EN8EM159494) which I thought was very odd since Rufis said he had this all worked out. I did advise Patrick I was not in the market any longer and will just hang on to my current truck (I did not want to cross wires with Rufis's efforts). 15:45 Al called and said he was waiting to see if Mossey was going to actually sell the truck at their 17:00 appointment. If not its mine. I told Al I am puzzled - 15 minutes ago Rufis said it was all sorted out and the truck would be at Poway in 1 hour. What the xxxx ????? 17:15 Al called and said we were still on the fence. 18:00 I received a text message from Al saying "Called to check on Truck…they have 3 dealers call on this same truck today!! They will let us know tomorrow…thanks for your patience…Al Maxey" 18:03 I advised Al I am out of patience. 7/2/14 9:00 Sent the above note to the Poway Toyota website customer comment section. 9:20 Received this email - Good Morning Mike, I understand your Frustration, so please allow us to contact them this morning and we will be in touch with you once we know around mid-morning what direction we are going with your New purchase. Appreciate your patience in regards of this matter, as you know Mike we have had (4) of us Managers here at Toyota of Poway attempting to get this New Toyota Tacoma for you, so it is not a lack of effort on our part thanks for the opportunity to do business together. Respectfully Al Maxey Internet Sales 9:36 Al, Appreciate the quick response. Mid- morning is doable but let's not delay into noon or later. If for some reason your management team cannot lock in by mid-morning then I would request a level of Toyota collaboration whereas your management team coordinates the same deal and vehicle with Mossey's management team. Subsequently I will then have to take my purchase to Mossey versus Poway. I have purchased dozens of new vehicles in my life and have never experiences something like what we are going through. Look forward to your mid-morning update. Regards, Mike Nunnally 12:08 Received the following email from Al: Hi Mike, I am "Sorry" that this happened but we are not able to retrieve this Vehicle for you! Respectfully Al 12:15 Called Al to reiterate my disappointment. And asked again for a referral as to whom I should talk to at Mossy to purchase a truck. He said Jason but didn’t have a number. 12:21 Called Poway Toyota and spoke to Trish. Gave here a very pointed message to pass on the Vincent Castro requesting a call back. 12:23 Called the main number at Mossy and asked for Jason. They transferred me to Jason Billings. Spoke to Jason and gave him the history since Monday morning and asked who I need to work with to purchase the Tacoma (Vin #3TMLU4EN8EM159494) for the same deal I supposedly had with Poway which was MSRP of $34,365 discounted to $32,894 and OTD price of $35,962.67. Jason said he would call me back in 10 minutes. 12:35 Received a call from Bernard Bryant apologizing for this mess over the past 3 days. I explained to him I understand there are some sales tactics which can be considered sketchy, but, this has gone beyond … I have been lied to specifically by two of his staff members and intentionally mislead for three days. All in all for nothing! Advised him I just hung up with Mossy Toyota and spoke to Jason Billings who will call me back in 10 minutes. Bernard said he would call down there to encourage I get the same deal promised by Poway Toyota. 12:40 Jason at Mossy called back and said he would provide me the same price and will be sending someone up to Ramona to pick me up. 12:50 Bernard called me back and said Justin at Mossy will be calling me. I advised him I have already locked in a positive response from Jason. 14:10 Patrick Vidal picked me up. 15:00 Arrived at the dealership - did the paperwork - no hassles. I requested they rotate the tires putting the white lettering inward and this was handled with no fuss. 17:05 Drove out of the Mossy dealership with the 14' Tacoma. Very pleased. On the other hand I want to THANK the Mossy Toyota Team (Brian, Matt, Justin, Robert, Jason and Patrick) who did a stand up job of rectifying the mess and putting me in the Toyota I had been promised since Monday. Each and every one of them was courteous, forthcoming, straight forward and a pleasure to work with. Regards, Mike Nunnally More

Great Experience I've had numerous dealings with Poway Toyota and cannot imagine what launched this complaint. Poway Toyota is the one I recommend ABOVE all the others in the area that think nothing of "" Toyota and cannot imagine what launched this complaint. Poway Toyota is the one I recommend ABOVE all the others in the area that think nothing of ""bait and switch"". Today I spoke with them about this specific complaint and no one knew what I was talking about. The Prius sells for MSRP, but, it SHOULD have an MSRP 2k-3k higher. Dealers are buying 2006 pre-owned Priuses at major auctions, for $18000 to $20000 WHOLESALE! There must have been a simple miscommunication because I PREFER POWAY TOYOTA and my family has purchased many times there. Frankly, I'd RATHER pay them a good profit rather than treat them like the local Chevy dealer. Poway Toyota even showed me a way that I can buy many of their vehicles for about half price through the ""one-pay"" structuring. It's amazing More
