I took my Sienna mini van to Toyota of Newport because I had a broken sliding door handle - they quoted me at $1644.00. I asked why it was so expensive and they said that it was because they had to remove More

Purchased a vehicle from them July 2020. The vehicle had just arrived and was being detailed and Serviced as a Toyota Certified Used Car. They took it from the detail shop so I could test drive it. I told them I’d like to buy the vehicle. They assured me they would finish detailing the vehicle and making the needed repairs and I could pick the vehicle up the following afternoon. We signed the papers, and I hesitated when they had me sign the “ad is” agreement and I before signing I asked them if they had made the repairs to the skylight and touch screen and they assured me they had, so I signed. They agreed to get me a second key for the vehicle. THEY LIED about making the repairs, they did not even finish detailing the vehicle! The computer screen and system still did but work properly and skylight still would not open and the cover was stuck half open. For 11 months I repeatedly tried to get appointments to have the vehicle serviced and repaired snd they repeatedly canceled my appointments and simply refused to do the repairs. After 11 months they FINALLY got us the second key snd sent us to a different shop to have it programmed. THE KEY COULD NOT BE PROGRAMED DUE TO THE PROBLEM WITH THE COMPUTER THEY NEVER REPAIRED. We contacted them and told them about the problem and their response was “we made you an appointment to have the key programmed” ignore the fact that we have told them that yes they may have made us an appointment but the key cannot be programmed because they never repaired the computer. They did attempt to repair the computer, I assume, because they normally put the desk together in correctly but they left dozens of greasy fingerprints on the inside of the touchscreen. So here we are a year later. They still refuse to do anything, including the filter contract with me to provide us with the second key programmed in able to be used. Ignore our emails, phone calls, and all messages. I took the vehicle into a certified Cadillac mechanic today and discovered that lo and behold all the problems I’m having with the vehicle or due to the issue with the computer they never repaired. Luckily they sold me a nearly $5000 service contract a few weeks after I purchased the vehicle so I could get the repairs made. It’s suppose to cost me only the $100 deductible. When I purchased the service agreement they specifically stated that all the repairs with the computer and the skylight could be made under the Extended Service agreement, for the hundred dollar deductible. The shop is sending the information in and asking permission to make the repairs. If they refuse I will nit inky be suing Newport Toyota for the $5000 repair agreement but also the the cost of the actual repairs as well as their violation of the Sales agreement and their failure to provide us with a second, usable, key! That should cost them about 10k, plus my attorney fees. Newport Toyota is nothing but a bunch of crooks. The vehicle was a Certified Used Vehicle but they never actually made any if they required repairs that would make it a certified used vehicle, so that was nit inky a LIE but it was also FRAUD. I am considering contacting the State Attorney Generals office to report their fraud, and every Consumer Protection agency I can find, including those operated by various News Organizations. I have spoken with several mechanics in our area that all told me Newport Toyota is known for lying to customers and selling them vehicles that need expensive repairs And yet they still claim that it’s a “toyota certified used vehicle”, which is a false statement and therefore can be considered, in legal terms, “a pattern of fraud and deceit of customers”. Newport Toyota is owned by the same person that only Corvallis Toyota dealership, no doubt they are the same crooked SOB’s working and lying for them at the Corvallis branch, as they have here in Newport.
