After I signed all the documents, a very unpleasant surprise was waiting for me that none of these three people warned me about. They gave me only one key fob with remote control. Moreover, in the end of the process, they said that they don't know how many key fobs I am supposed to get with that model, and they suggested to contact next day when a person who is supposed to know this will be there. Next day, nobody answered when I called. Of course, when I called in two days and they answered, another manager said that only one key fob with remote control comes with that model and suggested to spend $330 to buy another one. After some bickering they suggested to reduce it to $200. I understand that Toyota may sell some models with only one remote control but this is something that the dealership is supposed to warn you about. My car was not the first car of that model that they have sold, so either their salesmen and managers don't know what they do or they simply hide information that can impact your decision because two key fobs with remote control is something that you can expect to get when you buy a new car. It is a basic thing that they should warn you about! A phone call with their manager after two days was also ridiculous and frustrating. He asked me if I think that they need to warn me about everything that may raise questions! Worst car buying experience I've ever encountered. I am extremely disappointed about what they did as it ruined all the good feelings that you may expect when you buy a new car! I worked with 3 people when I bought this car, so it is not a fault of a single person, it is probably something that they normally do. More
False Advertising, Bait and Switch Sales Tactics This dealership very blatantly uses false advertising and then an bait and switch technique to generate leads and sales. I was emailed an offer that explicitly stated they would give me 110% "over" KBB trade value. I contacted the dealership regarding this offer and in its place they offer me 110% "of" my KBB trade value. Clearly there is a difference between "over" and "of" and they never acknowledged this nor would they make and off that came close to the 110% "over" KBB trade value. They basically would offer the 110% "of" and to get to that point had to be pushed. Clearly false advertising which they have never acknowledged. I walked away from their last "best" offer as it was well short of what I was emailed. Beware this dealers and they very demonstrably have shown a false advertising followed by a bait and switch approach. I can't in good faith recommend Toyota of Greer either but would steer people to Dave Edwards Toyota. I should also add I took my wife vehicle in for service in 2018 and found their service department to be condescending and far from friendly. I have since service all 3 of our Toyota's at another dealership. I am contemplating my next steps regarding their sales practices as I am not a happy camper about their those practices and find them at a minimum to be unethical, unfaithful, and patently false. I wonder how many others received the same false advertising via email. Might be interesting to get together and see what our options are. Might see if I can find them via social media as a start. Normally a visit to a car dealership is something I have ALWAYS dreaded, but both of my purchases it was a fast and enjoyable experience. You feel extremely welcome and comfortable. I noticed on both occasions how well everyone worked together and showed great team work. Something I really love to see anywhere in any business.
