I recently made the trip from Florida to Greenville Toyota after speaking with a salesman for several days about a 2024 4Runner. I placed a $1,000 deposit and was told the vehicle was certified and in Toyota after speaking with a salesman for several days about a 2024 4Runner. I placed a $1,000 deposit and was told the vehicle was certified and in perfect condition. I even started the drive overnight to make sure I’d be there early Monday morning. When I arrived, I was treated more like a nuisance than a valued customer. The salesman I had been working with wasn’t there, and none of the other salespeople seemed interested in helping. Once I saw the 4Runner in person, it was clear it had been heavily modified—there were even bolts hanging from the headliner. It was absolutely not in the condition I was led to believe. Then came the real kicker: despite all the online listings and direct confirmation that the vehicle was certified, I was told it was not. They tried to sell me an extended warranty instead, claiming it would be “in lieu of certification.” After I said no and started walking away, they suddenly changed their tune and offered to certify it after all. This entire experience felt dishonest and frustrating. I drove hundreds of miles expecting transparency and professionalism, but I was met with bait-and-switch tactics and poor customer service. I would not recommend Greenville Toyota based on my experience. More
