As she keeps her My wife recently purchased a 2018 RAV4 AWD SUV fromGarber Fox Lake Toyota after test driving multiple vehicles at three dealerships. As she keeps her cars for averagely 12 years she really does her “due diligence” and makes very good informed decisions. As this time she was torn between brands and a sedan and SUV it was very time consuming for both her and the sales people. On her first visit to Fox Lake Toyota with Lupe Benavidez she test drove three vehicles and had Lupe bring up front two more for comparison spending the better part of three hours. Her second, third, and fourth visit were not quite as long but Lupe was there with a smile on his face answering all of her many questions. I was with her on three visits and also on the fifth visit when she decided on what she wanted. My job was to get the best deal possible. I also did “due diligence” and must admit for the first time Lupe’s smile was momentarily gone. My wife is thrilled with her new car and I am very pleased with the deal because Lupe is a sales person with the patience’s of a Saint. More

***HANDS DOWN THE BEST SERVICE DEPT I HAVE EVER DELT WITH*** This is a review about the Fox Lake Toyota Service dept. (Jack in particular) I want to start off by saying that in my 39 years of existence I have pe This is a review about the Fox Lake Toyota Service dept. (Jack in particular) I want to start off by saying that in my 39 years of existence I have personally bought and sold quite a few vehicles. I turn most of my own wrenches, so many times I will buy them with known issues, fix them, drive them for a few months, then turn around and sell them when I know its a solid vehicle. I usually make a little money, its kind of a hobby. I don't try to make a lot, usually just a couple hundred over what I paid. This is the justification that i use when my wifey gets frustrated when I am on the hunt for another one. So you might be thinking to yourself, if he turns his own wrenches then why would he be writing a service dept. review. Just be patient, and all will be revealed in just a minute. Sometimes when jobs are very critical or I don't have the specialty equipment I will take it to the dealership for service. In this case that service was a Trans Flush and the good ol Timing Belt and Water pump. Plus I took my Sequoia in to have the Corrosion resistant compound applied to the frame (its free service for 1st gen sequoias years 04-07) and an airbag recall. This was quite a bit of work for the tech ( which reminds me I forgot to find him and shake his hand) any ways back on target..... My truck was in the shop for 2 days..... I was offered a loaner vehicle, since It was to be 2 days worth of work ( Three Stars earned right off the bat). I got my truck back every thing was good but there was a squeaking coming from my serpentine belt. I informed Jack about it, I told him i thought it was just some of the compound from the CRC application. I wanted to inform him, just so he was aware that it wasn't squeaking when I brought it in, and the slim possibility something went wrong when they removed the power steering pump while accessing the timing belt. I took the truck home and the following day I removed the belt, cleaned it and all the pulley surfaces. I slapped the belt back on and it seemed to make the squeak dramatically less, but it was still there none the less. I drove it for a few days thinking that it might right itself but it only got worse. So I called Jack to let him know what was going on (it was late in the day) so he scheduled me for the next available appointment slot the next day. I decided to do a night drop and again he offered me a loaner (which I declined because I didn't need it But PLUS ONE STAR for fitting me in so quickly) I went in today to pick it up after work and he ended up having a new Serpentine belt put on at no charge (PLUS ONE STAR). There is SOOOO much more to this story that I could share with you, but my fingers are starting to hurt, so I will spare you all the details. Psssst....Please don't tell anyone my fingers are hurting ( I DON'T WANT TO BE PUT ON LANDSCAPING DUTY cause then my back would hurt) by the way if you didn't catch that fingers hurting thing it was a Happy Gilmore movie quote. I have had some really bad experiences with dealerships in the past, I wanted to go in depth on this review so you will know WITH CONFIDENCE that this business's service dept. has went above and beyond what I ever expected to please this customer. I can't say that they are all as good as Jack as Jack is the only person which I interacted with, but if they are all half as customer oriented as Jack is, its a safe bet that 1. you won't get the run around. 2. They will treat you with respect. 3. They will make sure that you are completely happy with your service. 4. If they accidentally cause a issue while working on your vehicle ( getting coolant or CRC on my serpentine belt) They will make it right. Hands down, i say again HANDS DOWN the absolute best service dept. I have ever dealt with... I have lived in Kentucky, Indiana, Washington State, Virgina, and Hawaii ( I am Active Duty Military) I hope you have a blessed day!! Thanks again Jack, I hope to see you at church on sunday.... The dealership suggested that I call The Toyota national complaint line to see if they could help. They are a waste of time. When all was said and done, my problem made it to the General Manager, Dan. After a brief explanation, Dan took all things into consideration and they made the problems go away. I have to say, after a short period of doubt, the GM restored my faith in Toyota and made me happy that I also bought a 2017 Corolla from Garber Fox Lake Toyota. I would recommend them to a friend. More

They appear clueless in regard to customer service My service light came on and I looked up at the Valvoline sticker inside my windshield to see whether it was tires or oil change. The sticker said 57k +, my miles were 57k+ so I called to make an appointment. The girl pulled up my records and asked if I needed also my tires rotated. I told her I had just purchased the tires on the vehicle, so no. She set my appointment for Tuesday 8/29/2017 at 10:20am. I took a day off and went to my appointment at about ten. A service man I had never seen was moving my car, getting the tags ready etc. When he came back I was surprised to see a different name than his on my paperwork and I asked him where Frank, who it turns out, is the assistant service director. He pointed to the desk behind him but Frank was too busy typing on his cell phone to acknowledge me. My guy typed in my info and informed me that I didn't need an oil change for another 5000 miles and would I like him to change the sticker and reset the light. I voiced my disappointment that I had taken a full day to do this based on information given to me by one of their service bookers. I spoke to Dan the G.M. about this, he asked whether I drive a lot I said no. He tried to say that it was basically my fault for not driving enough because my light is on time or something similar that made no sense to me. During this experience I spoke to 5 people and not one apologized for costing me a day’s pay for nothing. But the absolute worst part was, Dan The General Manager tried somehow to deflect the blame toward me and I really cannot believe that FRANK the ASSISTANT SERVICE MANAGER never once looked away from his cell phone during this entire incident. I do not recommend Garber Fox Lake Toyota I did not have a particularly positive experience with Garber Fox Lake Toyota, or with Jason Adler, in particular. For context, I live several hours a I did not have a particularly positive experience with Garber Fox Lake Toyota, or with Jason Adler, in particular. For context, I live several hours away from the dealership, and found the vehicle I was looking for online. First, the negotiation process was unnecessarily deceptive. For example, I was low-balled on the trade-in value for my current vehicle. When I asked Jason to please show me how he had calculated that number, he sent me a KBB "quote" that almost perfectly matched the number he had offered, but that (intentionally) left out many of the features and upgrades in order to do so. When I re-ran the same quote to include these amenities, the dollar value was several thousand dollars higher. Similarly, when I met with Bob Vrakas to discuss extended warranty options, he tried to sell me a third-party/aftermarket package in lieu of the Toyota/OEM product without making this distinction clear. I specifically asked him, "So, this is the official Toyota warranty, right?" and he responded in the affirmative. When I brought up this discrepancy, he tried to tell me that Garber Fox Lake Toyota only sells the third-party product. Later, however, when I asked him to cancel the transaction, he offered me the Toyota/OEM option, which I politely declined (and later purchased from a different dealership). Second, when I arrived to look at and purchase the vehicle (having traveled 5+ hours to do so), it had not been cleaned. At that point, Jason and I had been communicating for nearly 2 weeks, and the appointment had been scheduled for more than 3 business days. When I asked if the interior could be touched up while I was there, I was told that the "guys" were "too busy". Finally, I was dissatisfied with my communication with Jason throughout the process. Initially, he was calling, texting, and emailing me so frequently that I actually had to ask him to please cut back, stick to one "form" of communication, and give me at least 12-24 hours to respond (due to my work schedule). After the transaction was complete, I emailed him a few follow-up questions (mostly related to conversations we had while I was at the dealership, e.g. what type of touch-up paint to buy, and where to purchase it from). Initially, he didn't respond (which was atypical, given the prior pattern). Several days later, I received a brief and rushed message that failed to address most of my concerns. I sent him a follow-up email with the unanswered questions, and never heard back. That was nearly 4 weeks ago... The contrast between being harassed pre-sale, and then being ignored afterward, speaks volumes about how Garber Fox Lake Toyota, and Jason, do business. In light of the above, I do not recommend buying a new or used car from Garber Fox Lake Toyota. Their business practices are dishonest, and their employees lack integrity. The only reason I am giving them a 2-star rating is because the vehicle I bought from them (which I carefully researched, and had inspected by an independent mechanic) has been great so far. ? More
