Even though at the time of purchase they assured me that I had a lifetime warrantee on my vehicle and now they are trying to some up with any excuse to get out of covering anything despite the fact that its not my fault. This is a well known problem with the GM 5.3L engine made for the 2019 Chevrolet Silverado. Its all over the internet. ***Buyer BEWARE! ! I purchased a 2019 chevy silverado from Toyota of Bourbonnais and one thing that set them apart from other dealers is that they "sweetened" the dea ! I purchased a 2019 chevy silverado from Toyota of Bourbonnais and one thing that set them apart from other dealers is that they "sweetened" the deal with a LIFETIME WARRANTEE on my truck. The truck only had 51,000 miles on it so I thought that was great. And it was until I actually needed to use it. At 111,000 miles the check engine light came on. I took it to Toyota of Bourbonnais to have it checked out. To my surprise, without even opening up the engine they told me that this is a common problem with this engine. I had bad lifters and I needed a whole new engine and in order for the warrantee to cover it I needed to prove that I kept the oil changed according to the manufacturer recommendations. So I gathered all my receipts and submitted them. Then they told me that I had a 19,928 mile gap in the service history and I didn't change my "spark plugs" and "transfer case oil" at 97,500 miles (.which has nothing to do with the issue of the lifters failing in a well oiled engine!). Now there was no gap in the oil changes. The dates, mileage and product was clearly written on the statement But they denied my paperwork saying that it was a statement and not the invoice. So I went back to Reliable Oil & Tire Center and had them print out each individual invoice in my service history so I could prove there was no lapses in my oil change history and then re-submitted them. Then I went back to Toyota of Bourbonnais and then they told me that they still would not honor their warrantee because 1. I didn't change the spark plugs & transfer case oil at 97,500 and now 2. I didn't get my oil changes there. None of this has anything to do with the fact that the Lifters in this truck are clearly Defective!! and Through no fault of mine. I took the matter to Sam the manager and he said he would look into it and so far...Nothing! This experience has impressed upon me that they will find any excuse they can to get out of honoring the warrantee they gave the customer at the time of sale😠😠😠 Hope this helps other buyers made an informed decision. I came in for an oil change. I was greeted and then I sat in the waiting room. My husband came to sit with me and asked if I saw the new 4Runner out front. So we walked out to lo I was greeted and then I sat in the waiting room. My husband came to sit with me and asked if I saw the new 4Runner out front. So we walked out to look at that beauty! We walked around it and read the information, compared it to 2 others nearby. As we began walking back to the dealership, April Stratton greeted us outside and asked if she could help. I told her I was just getting my oil changed, but wondered if I could trade in my 4Runner for the one outside. She said, let's see! So we walked inside, she asked if we were serious or just looking, due to the type of credit check that would be done. So I said serious. She walked us through the car, took us on a test drive and answered our questions wonderfully! We came back in and began the paperwork. She was super friendly the entire time and made the experience relaxed and the time to pass quickly. Dan Ballad was SUPER. He remembered me from my last purchase, and got right to work looking for a great deal. I asked to stay close to my current payment. He was able to get a much better interest rate, and only a little over my current payment. I decided to purchase! He was great and walked us through all the paperwork clearly and asked if I had questions as we went through it. After all was signed, April came out with a sign for me to take my picture in front of my new car! She was SUPER!!!!! After leaving, she texted me to say thank you for coming in, and sent me the pictures she took with her phone. I in turn sent her the picture taken with my phone. If I am ever in the market for a new Toyota, Toyota of Bourbonnais will always have my business. I asked for April's business cards so I could share them with people I knew. More
We have purchased a few Toyotas from the dealership and had them serviced there also. We always get friendly efficient service at a reasonable cost.
