Stuart and Richard were both available any time I called and/or email (which I did, numerous times). I went through so many stereotypical slimey car salesman and different dealerships, even other Toyota dealerships, and this experience has made me a believer. If I don't end up getting another Prius by the time my lease is up, it is only because I can afford a Lexus :) All thanks to the efforts made by Stuart with the pricing and negotiation as well as Richard, who took care of me in the office. Jim was very friendly, informative, and always seemed concerned about my expectations in purchasing a new car. I consulted four local Toyota dealerships before deciding that Santa Monica had the friendliest, most reasonable, and least "pushy" staff. Jim was the only salesman to offer me a really competitive price on the exact car that I wanted. At no point was I hassled or troubled into settling for something other than what I had in mind. Jim kept the transaction about ME and meeting MY needs. In addition, we had fun! This is what car buying should be all about. From first stepping foot onto the lot, to driving away in my new car, I was overly impressed by how well I was treated at this dealership. My experience with Jason Cohen was excellent: he is very knowledgeable, not to mention effective/efficient and a good listener. All of the above applies to Max Riley, with whom I worked in the dealership's used sales department, and who guided me through multiple visits and options, etc. Both are dedicated individuals and I would not hesitate contacting them again when I am ready for my next Toyota car. I just bought my first Prius from Stuart and he was great. My son bought a new Prius last year and we loved how he treated us and was upfront about the process. Had a bad experience at the time of purchase that a -- much later -- new general manager addressed. (After I had purchased the car, the sales person handed over *one* key. I asked for the second one and t much later -- new general manager addressed. (After I had purchased the car, the sales person handed over *one* key. I asked for the second one and there was none; the new general manager agreed to reimburse me for a second key that I had cheaply done elsewhere.) The sales person made a number of claims, some of which later turned out to have been wrong (Toyota-guaranteed battery life on the Prius, for example). This sales person seems to no longer be with Toyota Scion Santa Monica. This may be obvious: a dealer warranty means that the dealership will pay if the car falls apart within 2 months or 2000 miles of purchase. It doesn't mean anything else. In particular, it doesn't mean that the regular Toyota-recommended maintenance has been done. At the first service, supposedly a minor one, I ended up with an extra $600 of regular maintenance that should have been done at a mileage just below the mileage at which I bought the car. The dealership then gave me an approx. 15% discount on these maintenance items that should have been done before I bought the car. More
1 - Stuart assured me, more than once, that the Toyota recall problem had been taken care of. I find out at Toyota Culver City that this was not true and they fixed it. This kind of lie to make a sale could cost lives. 2 - I did not test before buying but once I left the lot the touch screen did not work which makes me think that the Toyota Santa Monica Certified Inspection is a waste of time and what other problems does my car have, after all, how could something so basic be missed? 3 - As part of his sales pitch, Stuart was supposed to take care of the transfer of title of my trade in; he did not and I got bills and calls from the DMV and had to take care of it myself. In short, Stuart promised much on the lot. As soon as my check cleared and I drove off the lot Stuart disappeared and broke promises. I will never buy a car from Toyota Santa Monica ever again. More

Mark was a fabulous salesperson in all ways- he was low-key, courteous, patient and helpful. The entire experience was good and never anxiety-ridden as it can be when making such big decisions. I feel like I got the absolute best deal and car buying experience possible.
