I had a simple request- I needed a new bulb for the headlamp for an Avalon. I did not have the time for a full service visit. Danny, in the service department told me to purchase the bulb and he would headlamp for an Avalon. I did not have the time for a full service visit. I placed a deposit on a pre-owned car with Tami Radway on a Saturday at 9:00 am. I called on Monday morning to set up a time to pick up the car. Tami said that she would call me at 4:00 pm that day to take c a Saturday at 9:00 am. I called on Monday morning to set up a time to pick up the car. Tami said that she would call me at 4:00 pm that day to take care of the paperwork so I would not have to wait long when I arrived. She did not call until 6:30 and at that time she told me that my car had been sold to someone else. She told me not to worry that they would get me a twin to the car or a better one at the same price. Over the course the the next two weeks I received very little info on a possible replacement, as I spoke to, sent emails and voice mails to Tami, Andrew and Mike. Finally Andrew called to tell me that they had located a car at another dealer and he referred me to them stating that they know of the situation and pricing. When Icalled the other dealer he said that he would not match or come close to my price. I since have tried to reach Andrew and Mike and they will not return my calls. If you plan on dealing with DCH Toyota City do not expect that what you are told is accurate or the true, as many times throughout the three weeks I was told conflicting stories as to the progress of my situation. I have been a customer of Toyota City in Mamaroneck NY for almost 40 years. In that time we have purchased nine cars, the most recent being a 2006 Prius. We have returned again and again over the years for almost 40 years. In that time we have purchased nine cars, the most recent being a 2006 Prius. We have returned again and again over the years because of the quality of the cars and the quality of the people in sales and service. We began in the 1970's with the first of three Corollas, moved to a Camry and two minivans, a Celica, then two Priuses. For the last five cars, over 20 years, we have worked with Ginny Bisconti, a wonderfully warm and thoughtful individual. We've gone back to her again and again because we've known we were getting an honest deal. The most fun was in keeping a surprise when one car was a gift to my wife. The best job was in securing the second Prius to replace the one which was totaled when my daughter was in a collision with a speeding hit-and-run driver. Ginny has never been a high-pressure type. She was wonderful when our son spent time considering a car a couple of years ago and then decided on a different brand. I still get a big greeting whenever I stop in for service. The service department has been excellent over all these years. I have maintained all of the cars there for everything except routine oil changes. I can't say enough about this dealership. I guess that my loyalty as a customer over nearly four decades speaks for itself. More
To reccommend a dealership, several criteria should be evaluated. These include the sales personnel, repair & service department, stock on hand or readily obtainable & no low-balling. We returned to Bill Glass, a Certified Sales Consultant, to purchase our 5th Avalon at the dealership. Bill met all the criteria of an ideal salesman: he was patient, a courteous gentleman & explained the Avalon's workings in an understandable fashion. He described the available options concisely including their cost. We were allowed to take an unaccompanied short drive to evaluate the car's performance rather than just by description. Other sales personnel asked if they could help if we had a perplexed look on our faces while Bill was unavailable & tending to an unrelated matter. Bill explained the tax consequences & loss of the $3,000.00 discount if we sold the trade-in Avalon privately. We were satisfied with the value placed on the trade-in. Bill continues to provide support by phone 1 month after the purchase when we are unable to comprehend items in the user's manual. We have no hesitation to recommend Bill & the dealership to friends & relatives. More
