I was in the market for a Hyundai Genesis. My local dealer did not have the year model or color that I wanted so I did an internet search for what I wanted. I found 3 dealerships that had the car I was looking for. I contacted all three, one being Town and Country Ford, on the internet inquiring price and availability of the car. Ryan Smith of Town and Country called me within 30 minutes. We talked for a while about what I was looking for, price I was interested in paying, and such. Ryan e-mailed pictures of the car and other information I requested. To make a long story short, I purchased a used 2010 Genesis 4.6 in show-room condition. The car was exactly as Ryan said it would be- perfect! I live about 250 miles from Bessemer. My wife and I drove up to pick up the car and our dealing with every one at Town and Country went flawlessly. I will have to say Ryan checked on us the next day to be sure we had arrived back home safely and to be sure there were no problems. We still here from him often. I'm a people person and I like to get to know those that I deal with. First, by comparison I have driven Mercedes Benz automobiles for personal use and either GM or Dodge pickups for business for the last 15/20 years. Our policy is to typically replace our pickup truc automobiles for personal use and either GM or Dodge pickups for business for the last 15/20 years. Our policy is to typically replace our pickup truck every 3.5 to 4.5 years. And, although the pickup will typically only receive light use defined as 75 percent highway, 20 percent good gravel roads, and 5 percent off road use it is subject to occasionally pulling about a 3.5 ton boat and trailer. So, we need a reliable truck capable of handling all contingencies. This buying cycle, as a first we decided to buy Ford for two reasons. First, Ford refused any government money and we believe bankruptcy is a viable integral part of capitalism. We believe it was a terrible mistake for our government to intervene in GM's bankruptcy. So we had determined to buy Ford unless we found a reason not to buy a Ford. Second, we knew Ford built reliable trucks and was a competitive brand all things considered. However, I must say that I have been tremendously impressed with the entire Town and Country And Ford purchase experience for several reasons. One, after completing an Internet inquiry of our local market I promptly received a telephone call from Ryan Smith from Town and Country Ford. He was polite, courteous, and informative. My son and I have our own business to manage which is our priority so I told Ryan I would get by within a few days as MY schedule allowed. I went by the dealership a couple of days later unannounced and without an appointment and the receptionist explained that Brian was not in but that Carlton Dowdell could help me in Ryan's absence. Carlton was also polite, courteous, and informative and my experience was seamless between the two of them. Their candid, forthright responses to my questions sealed the deal for me. My only issue was that admittedly I wanted exactly what I wanted without exception and these guys promptly took my order and now I'm driving a nice new 2014 loaded F250 King Ranch. More
