After driving from New Orleans to Alabama to look at the car I decided to purchase it after they worked up a great price for me. I then inquired about a 2014 Mustang while I was there and because they again were very nice and worked a great deal for me I decided to buy a mustang as well! I told them it has been the best dealership experience I have ever had and was worth the 4.5 hour drive. Excellent Experience! Short version: T&C in Bessemer (Derrick Young & Mitchell Watts) was the best car buying experience I've had. I've bought 3 vehicles over the past 20 Short version: T&C in Bessemer (Derrick Young & Mitchell Watts) was the best car buying experience I've had. I've bought 3 vehicles over the past 20 years, and T&C has been the best. Long story: My wife and I are expecting our first baby in July 2014, and in May her 10 year old vehicle started having serious engine trouble. We decided it was best to replace it, which triggered that upset stomach feeling since I knew I was about to have to go through the "car sales process"... especially while in a pinch to replace a vehicle. We started off by going to a couple of other car lots, 1) to get trade-in/selling quotes and 2) buy another vehicle. One of the first stops on Hwy 280 was a joke. We got the stereotypical "car salesman" that seemed to only let my description of what we wanted (model, price, mileage, etc.) bounce off his forehead, and then he proceeded to up-sale us. We promptly left. The other stop was at one of those car lots that advertise there is no price negotiation; the price is what it is. We had a pleasant time there, and sold the old vehicle there. However, they didn't have anything in inventory that we wanted to buy. This led me to call Town & Country in Bessemer, AL. I had been referred to T&C by a friend, but since it is not close to my house it wasn't my first choice. Mitchell Watts and Derrick Young were the two I spoke with at T&C, and both were the complete opposite (a good thing) than Mr. Up-sale we had just left on that other lot. Mitchell and Derrick were very attentive to our needs in all areas (price, model, mileage, etc.). Furthermore, just before I decided to sell the old vehicle, they were able to assure me I was getting a good offer on the old vehicle, which was great. Once we arrived at T&C, Mitchell and Derrick were as friendly as possible. Derrick showed us around the huge inventory, and never once tried to up-sale us. He had listened to exactly what we were interested in, and didn't waste our time on anything else. We were able to find a nice, used, low mileage SUV, and the price was very reasonable. T&C was very willing to do everything they could to get us the best vehicle, given our budget. They also were very patient to make sure we understood all aspects of the purchase (warranty, service plans, etc.). I left T&C feeling very informed about our purchase. Finally, I can say that Mitchell and Derrick were very professional and friendly. I will want to deal with them again in the future, but hopefully not too soon! I would definitely refer them and T&C to anyone searching for a new or used vehicle. More

Ford Friendliness I recently purchased a Ford Focus Hatchback from Town and Country ford. I first consulted with Mart online and on the phone about options. At that mom I recently purchased a Ford Focus Hatchback from Town and Country ford. I first consulted with Mart online and on the phone about options. At that moment I could not get to the dealership to meet with him for personal reasons. Mart was very friendly, informative and not pushy. He understood my situation. I was thankful for that. A week later I just happened to be in the area and thought I would stop by to see Mart and look at some Fords. My mom, who was visiting from Michigan wanted to help me with my purchase so went to buy a car instead of going to Walmart across the street for groceries. Mart was not there that day and Michael helped with looking at cars. If it wasn't for Michael being just as helpful and friendly I would have not proceeded to try and purchase a car. I really felt guilty over Mart not being the one to make the sale. I had to go sign some paperwork the next day and Mart introduced himself to me and reassured me that all was cool. Both Michael and Mart have called, texted and emailed me to make sure the car was what I had hoped. I have been informed that if I had any questions or concerns to call either one of them. I bought this car for my husband who took a job in a different state and is commuting an hour drive back and forth to work. I took the car to him and he loves it. He had his doubts about me buying a car without his help and being taken advantage of. We traded vehicles with much disappointment on my end. If we had the resources to buy another car I would not hesitate to go down to Town and Country Ford of Bessemer Alabama and ask for Mart and Michael. Thanks Guys! More

Review of my experience with T&C Ford and Calvin Smith I had come to T&C only to see if there were any used Sport Tracs available. I had never owned a pickup before and didnt want anything too big. Calvin worked with me patiently, showing me what was available and discussing my likes and dislikes about pickups in general. Eventually he convinced me to take a look at what the F150s had to offer. We settled on a new F150 Lariat Super Cab that day. I drove it home! :) About a month later while out of town, I accidentally locked the key in the truck while it was running. It was 4:55 in the afternoon and I was standing in front of my truck in a empty parking lot alone, locked out, engine running. I called Calvin to see if he had a keyless entry code to unlock the doors, because I had not yet changed it. He ran halfway across the dealership to catch someone before they went home for the night. He found me the code for the keyless entry and I was able to avert this catastrophe! I will never forget the effort he went to. Calvin is immediately likable and makes you feel very comfortable looking around the lot. He will go the extra mile, even after the sale - he proved it to me.
