I had met with a dealer here in April 2022. I put down $500 to be on a list to get a Ford Maverick XLT 2022. He told me to check my emails regularly because if I did not check the email, I would lose my $500 within a week if I did not respond. I emailed him 5 times, never once got a response. Just checking in. I did ask for a response to make sure I had the right email. I then called him 3 times. Twice I was able to talk with him. He stated each time he would get back to me that afternoon. Neither time he called me back. The 4th time I called I chose to speak with someone else there at customer service. That person told me that open ordering of the vehicle had ended the night before. So, I will NOT get my vehicle, even though I made numerous contacts over the 5 month period and had put down $500. I had not been excited about a vehicle in 30 years. I committed $500 to "ensure" I could get a vehicle. I did my part to communicate, THEY DID NOTHING to communicate. I am now out a vehicle. Me and my family will never buy from Ford again. This format does not give me the option for ZERO STARS, but that is what I would rate it. 9/26/22 So, I am editing my review to add to what I have already written. More has happened. When I called to get my check back and to get my paperwork back that I filled out, he (General Manger)went on to tell me he had tried to call me after I spoke with their Customer relations person. He states my voice message was full. He made no other attempt to contact me, such as texting, calling again an hour later, or emailing me. They were aware how upset I was about everything above, yet that was their effort now to reach me. Pitiful. He now states that the Order Banks were still open when he called, even though the Customer Relations person consulted with him earlier and I was told they were actually closed. He additionally told me that I would have had to come into the dealership to order it, even though they had told me before that I would not have to do that and could have me sign things through email/fax and we went through trying to order a vehicle on the first call and it didnt go through. Regardless, I was Number 2 on their list for ordering, but they did not contact me before or during the ordering window was open and I happened to call them on the day after. They continued to put the blame on me. He told me there were 40 people in their dealership ordering vehicles. I was NUmber 2! How did I not get contacted. The General Manager said he did try to call me, as I said a few lines above, but it was on day 5 of a 4 day window to order. Again, I was told I could not order anymore, it had closed. I then contacted Ford.Com, the actual company, and they verified that the window was closed and that no one could order anymore. So, either the manager or Ford.com is lying to me. I am putting my money on the manager. Then the manager had the audacity to see if I would buy a used Maverick they have coming in. I asked if the used Maverick would cost less than a new one, and he stated no, it would be more. Oh my God..... Such audacity. They failed on so many levels. I am appalled. I am out a truck. Now, I ask the manager for my paperwork on file and my check back. I ask him to mail it to me. He asks why I would need the paperwork. I tell him I didn't want them to have anything in my file and that I would like to have it. He then states he has shredded my paperwork. Why he did not ask me that before? I don't know. I am guessing to get rid of the evidence of how they treated me. Smooth on their part of course. He still has the check, and he will mail that to me, but didn't have any other paperwork on me. How convenient. Appalled. Hurt. Feeling small. Big company just ran all over me with their incompetence!. TYVM So, I see on their website you can now contact them to reserve a new Ford Lightning. OMG! DO NOT CALL TO RESERVE THE VEHICLE! THEY DO NOT HONOR THE RESERVATION! THEY DID NOT HONOR IT WITH ME! More
