Scam-artist, liars, took advantage. Dont shop here please. I was looking on the internet for a used car to purchase and I had found one I was interested in at Toro Auto in east Windsor, CT. I did not look at the reviews before purchasing my 2013 Altima and I am so so sorry I didn't. I walked into Toro Auto that day knowing that my credit was poor and if I financed my interest rate would most definitely be pretty high. I am recently divorced and I did not want to go alone for the main reason that I did not want to get taken advantage of. So I had a male friend of mine come with. Addid (the one and only finance guy at the desk) started with his lies right from the beginning and honestly I wish now I walked out then. I really really liked the car and I had a difficult time finding one I liked so it was difficult for me to walk away from it. But right from the beginning we asked addid if the light would go off once they put air in the tires? There was a light on saying low air pressure. Which was most likely from the cold. Instead of being honest and saying " it should , we will put air in it now to check for you" he comes out with this line of non- sense saying " ohh well no it might not, we've been having a problem with that light we don't have the tool to turn it off. " so my friend says you don't have a diagnostic tool here ? And Addid replys with " yes we do but you need a special one for this car. " my friend knew he was lying and had to hold back his anger. Addid was lying so bad he even went to the extent of holding up a business card of some guys and saying " yea I was actually on the phone all day with this guy trying to figure out a solution" so anyways the shop guys take the car put air in the tires and it goes off and hasn't been on since. The reason why I told this story which isn't even the biggest complaint I have is because it just shows the lengths he goes too to sell a car. Being the finance guy he wasn't sure if the light would go off so that's why he said all that incase it didn't he wanted too make it look good. So now for my main complaint, toro had listed that they were selling the car for $10,900 and Addid said there was no room to play. That was the price I take it or leave it. So I agreed. I had given a deposit and then I wanted to finance the rest. Now again I went in there knowing my credit was poor and I knew I would most likely be charged a high interest rate if I was approved if approved at all. Addid claims he tried a few banks which who knows if he really did at this point. And the only bank that would pick me up was one that charges more . Those were his exact words. He said "I can't try with this bank but they charge more money." So I said, " ok well I have to do what I have to do I need a car and I want to try and build my credit anyways so I guess lets go with that bank" so anyways I was signing the papers and we saw where it said the price of the car he wrote in $12,900. We agreed on $10,900 so we questioned him on that and said why does it say 12 and not 10?! And he came back with " we'll remember I told you the bank has fees and it costs a little more money well that's the fee. They add it into the price of the car. See, this place approves everyone and they are taking a chance by doing so. So they protect themselves by charging an extra fee" my friend felt uncomfortable with that answer but believed him and I totally believed him. He lies and lies and lies and makes it sound so believable. He kept reminding me that my credit was poor so if I wanted to finance this is the way it had to be. So anyways I signed all the paper work and took the car home. That night my friend googled " can the finance company change the price of the car during the sale" And it said no they can't it's illegal. The very next day I called the finance company and I asked them if they have a fee or ANY fees when financing a car. They said NO. The finance company does NOT even go by Your credit!! They approve everyone, just at a very high interest rate. But besides the interest rate there are no other fees and definitely no $2000 fee!! Addid robbed me. He totally scammed me into $2000 more! As it is I am recently divorced with poor credit. Here I am trying to finance a small amount so I can build my credit and he adds 2000 more dollars too it!! Addid has no morals no heart no soul, how can you look at someone in the eye and lie so terribly?! And he had no problem doing it. Because he wanted to make an extra $2000 on the car now my monthly payment is even higher. I am honestly so disgusted how he took advantage of me. And I can just imagine how many other people with poor credit he has done this too. I even spoke to him the next day. I tried to come up with an agreement. I was even willing to take back 1000$ instead of the $2000 and he said no. He kept lying and lying and lying then finally when we caught him out and there was no way he could lie and get out of it he says " I'm going to call the police and say you stole my car." Like seriously?!?! All I can say is this guy is THE BIGGEST SCAMMER I have ever met. It's really sad and he should not be allowed too sell cars. I know this was a long story but I had to share all the details and I still left a lot out. More
