I am not very happy with this dealership. We bought a 2021 Mazda CX-5 New Year’s Eve December 31 2020. the buying experience was good. However, On March 12, just 2 1/2 months of having my car my rear drivers side fender flare came off and broke while going through the car wash. The part is completely made of plastic along with the clips that hold it on. The piece was completely ruined. I talked to the car wash owner about this, he said he has video of the incident, and that the part came off as soon as I entered the car wash. My husband made an appointment at the Mazda service center to get my car fixed and told them what happened. I believe it is a manufacturing issue considering the clips that hold the fender flare is held on by plastic. I went in on March 16 to get it fixed and they told me I had to pay for the repairs, which I told them was completely wrong and that I think they should pay for it . Again because I believe it is a malfunction in the part. You should be able to drive a brand new car through the car wash without pieces of your coming off it is only 2 1/2 months old. There is no other damage or scratches around the piece that came off. The gentleman at the service desk was nice sorry I don’t remember his name. When I told him I shouldn’t have to pay for it he told me he would talk to someone higher up and see if they could do a good faith repair for me and he would get back to me. I waited a week and hadn’t heard anything, so I called them. I was told that Mazda wouldn’t pay for it and that my warranty didn’t cover It and that the car wash should and that car washes have insurance for things like that. I do not believe it was the car washes fault and I should not have to foot the bill on a faulty car part. I have driven my cars through that car wash many many times and never had any pieces of my car come off. Beyond believe that a dealership would treat a customer like this! I am driving a brand new 2021 car with a missing fender flare part that costs $80 and they refuse to make it right. I am very unhappy with my service. Mrs Hendrickson More
So I traveled to Ron Tonkin Mazda with a salesman I met at the Kia Ron Tonkin, Iiel Schumacher. Since both dealerships are under the Ron Tonkin name he was able to work to navigate a sale for a used Mazda3 at the Kia Ron Tonkin, Iiel Schumacher. Since both dealerships are under the Ron Tonkin name he was able to work to navigate a sale for a used Mazda3 they had on the lot. I had a trade-in of a mini Cooper. And the sales manager was going to lowball the trade-in cost. I was ready to walk- I don’t play games like that, and Iiel went to bat for me again. At that Time I had a very fortunately timed call from Kelly blue book offering me more sight unseen. So that started a bidding war for my trade in. I felt bad for Iiel Schumacher having to run back-and-forth with the sales manager who wasn’t his own boss, but he worked diligently for the sale. In the end everything landed in a very satisfying way. Most of Gladstone employee Alex jumped in at the end to smooth the transition and even filled up the car with gas. I didn’t realize until I got home that there was no owners manual in the car. When I called Alex said he would rectify it. So I’m looking forward to that resolution. Overall, if it weren’t for Iiel and Alex, this could have gone poorly but they saved the day! Trask the financial officer was fantastic effective and kind. Other than the haggling over the Mini Cooper trade in cost the process and experience was a positive one. Thank you Alex and Iiel- you’re a champ! More

Steve Ballweber in the Service Department is such a pleasure to work with. This past weekend it was time to replace my 2015 Mazda CX-5 Touring, so I headed over to RTM to purchase a 2020 Mazda CX-5 GT. The entire buying process was a breeze and all of the gentleman who helped me from Jeff in sales to Dmitry in finance were so helpful! From start to finish they took great care of me and I was on the road in my gorgeous new car in just about 4 hours!! I've purchased over 27 cars in my lifetime and this was hands down the BEST buying experience I have ever had!! More

In my personal opinion, I was deliberately lied to at Ron Tonkin Mazda once and misled twice. I have tried to resolve these issues with their customer service staff with zero results. After two weeks the best they can come up with is that there was a misunderstanding. I had looked in person and online for a few days for a specific car. I had a deal with another dealership pretty much done. I made the mistake of asking Ron Tonkin Mazda if they could beat it which they said they would. I was literally in the other dealership’s parking lot when Ron Tonkin Mazda called me to confirm the details. I drove over an hour out of my way to complete this deal. It should have been simple. I’m a cash buyer. No trade in, no financing. I write a check, they give me a car. I asked for a price including all of Ron Tonkin Mazda’s fees. I would pay the privilege tax and DMV fees on top of that. Easy, right? As soon as we walked in the door the deal had changed. I should have left at this point but I stuck around while they figured out how to make the deal work. I reiterated that I was going to pay the price they agreed to plus the privilege tax and fees required by the DMV. They assured me that was accurate and they were working on the paperwork. Fast forward to the finance managers office and the price is still higher than expected. They add in a “Estimated C.A. Tax” which I question. The response is that is a “tax on electric vehicles, everybody pays it”. That is a lie. Two people heard this lie word for word. I realized after the fact that it is actually the Oregon Corporate Activity tax. The Oregon Department of Revenue confirmed that this is a tax on businesses and nothing to do with electric vehicles. The DMV confirmed that the only tax I should have paid was the privilege tax. Ron Tonkin Mazda chose to add their corporate tax to my total rather than include it in the agreed upon purchase price for the car. Then they lied about it when questioned. The next issue was regarding DMV fees. I specifically said include all of your fees into the price of the car. I would pay any direct DMV fees on top of that. I was assured that was the case despite there being some very similar costs added to my purchase agreement. Something didn’t feel right but I went ahead and signed, wrote a check, and left with a car. Once home I realized that they had added in $150 in fees that were NOT payed/required to the Oregon DMV but went to Ron Tonkin Mazda. I feel at a minimum, I was deliberately misled on what these fees were for. In the end Ron Tonkin Mazda took $251.10 in fees that were not inline with our verbal agreement. My mistake for trusting them and not reading the purchase agreement line by line. Lesson learned. Congratulations on your $251.10 Ron Tonkin. You just lost two cash paying customers for life. On top of that I’ll be happy to share my experience with anybody that asks me about my vehicle or asks who I would recommend they buy from. More
