Turns out we needed a new battery which was still under warranty from previous purchase 3 or 4 years ago. Price adjustment was made in a fair way. More
30,000 mile service Joe was helpful and encouraging. Car was towed in, battery placed at no charge and service performed promptly. No complaints at all. I will be back. I have two points to make that highlight the reasons I will not gonna last. 1) I had a slow leak in one of my tires. I mentioned it during check in. $35 later the tire is plugged. Keep in mind they pulled the tires to do a roatation. Mental note-take to Discount Tire next time for free. 2) The car has 60k miles. They said the plains needed changed. $800 later they are changed. Response from dealer, we have to disassemble a lot to do it. Recommendation to Subaru-have your engineers design for maintenance, not for dealer profit. This experience just made me a Tom Wood and Subaru net detractor. More

But to my surprise, they provided much more service for far less money than I ever would have believed. They were very straight forward with the diagnosis and the remedies. Everyone from the service advisor (Tony Parsons) to the parts and service manager were courteous and helpful. More

I am from out of state and a college student, so I did not purchase my car here or even in Indiana, however I have used them consistently for my repairs while I have lived here. Every time I call to make an appointment, the customer service is excellent and the people I talk to are very kind and accommodating. But the minute I step into the dealer, it's completely the opposite. All of the employees are friendly and personable, however, the two people I have worked with have treated me terribly. I am female and a young college student and every interaction with Tony Parsons and Joe Shanholt has left me feeling ignored, not valued as a legitimate paying customer, and there is very little effort to communicate what is being done to the car. I am treated as if I do not matter because I am not an older male. I watched similar interactions happen with other women while I was waiting for my car to be fixed each time I was there for service. I am completely capable of understanding what my car needs when it is told to me. I am not incompetent, nor am I stupid. The last experience at Tom Wood was by far the worst. I brought my car in for an appointment, dropped it off with a different rep, and waited THREE HOURS before someone came and told me they had figured out what was wrong with the car, despite having gone up and asked on the progress less than one hour in and told it had been in the shop for a while and that I would be updated soon. For over an hour, I sat in the waiting area as if invisible, when my car was ready for me to make a decision on the parts needing to be replaced. The rep I was supposed to be working with walked by me several times without making eye contact. I am very disappointed with my experience at Tom Wood and will be taking my Subaru downtown to Falcone Subaru in the future. TL;DR: I was there a total of five hours, yet the actual replacement of parts and payment took only an hour. I am very disappointed with the way I was treated (as if invisible and not a valued customer, despite others around me being treated quite differently) considering the time I spent waiting and amount of money I paid for the service done. The maintenance was excellent and the car is running perfectly. I have no complaints. More

I took it in for the 12,000 mile service in July; along with them taking it to the detailer to get the wheels clean from the glue from the wheel covers they use for transporting. I was in and out in less then an hour. However, upon getting on the interstate the red oil can on my tachometer was lit. I pulled over onto the emergency lane. Upon a couple of phone calls to the dealership, they sent someone to pick me up. Once I arrived at the dealership they gave me a car to use while they investigated the problem. Well it seems the tech forgot to put oil in the engine. Upon much negotiation, they agreed to trade this vehicle in for a brand new 2018 Subaru Outback (same exact model and color) with 5 miles on the odometer . It is good to see that there are good honest people that work at Tom Wood Subaru. More
