It would be difficult to give this service department high marks. Two years ago (pre-Covid) work was performed and I personally had to fix hoses not tightened (the power steering pump was replaced) and i high marks. Two years ago (pre-Covid) work was performed and I personally had to fix hoses not tightened (the power steering pump was replaced) and it leaked fluid all over my garage. And I did mention it to the service department but to no avail. Fast forwarding, their were some major repairs (gaskets dried out) to a 21 year old Xterra that I only use it to get up and down Little Cottonwood Canyon in the winter (the truck only has 90K miles after 21 years). The communication was fair on when the actual finish time would occur. Time Dahle Robot Texting and not really giving me direct communication (or the ability to text back) is just plain silly in my humble opinion. Moreover, trying to get service on the phone took an Act of Congress! Lastly, I finally picked up the truck. Mechanically, the gentleman worked hard on it and did a decent job. However, 1/2 mile into my drive home going East on 106S without the heater working it dawned on me that the radiator was drained and not refilled. It was a very cold day too! The Xterra overheated quickly but I pulled over immediately not a mile from South Jordan on 10600S and 1300E. Freezing in my truck and waiting for service to bring 2-3 gallons of anti-freeze, I finally made a decision to walk to the 7-11 service station and buy 2 gallons of Peak Anti-Freeze. It took the two gallons, and I was off and running! Service did call me about 10 minutes later to ask were I was as they were looking for me. I would have froze solid in those 10 minutes without heat at that point. In sum, I asked for a $40 credit to my VISA which has yet to come. I don't think it ever will as I was placated on the phone or they were just too busy. I will not be back to Tim Dahle Nissan Southtowne anytime soon and I do not expect to hear from these guys as I sporadically take my truck there over the years. I doubt they take these reviews seriously as I wrote back yesterday on the 'Bot" that I was unhappy with the whole ordeal. More

Since I purchased the vehicle in late 2019, I have yet to be satisfied with anything pertaining to this dealership. Seriously, I could fry an egg on my head after each visit for service. I question the competence of the mechanics. My first Nissan was in the shop 2 summers ago. I spent $4,000 on a car that wasn't worth that and then a week later I took the car back because it was leakin Nissan was in the shop 2 summers ago. I spent $4,000 on a car that wasn't worth that and then a week later I took the car back because it was leaking fluid. They had done something wrong and they owned up to it. They fixed the problem no charge but it was a hassle. Now my second Nissan has been in the shop 3 or 4 times this summer. We have spent $3,000 on this vehicle this summer. I had to take it back in and they have had the car for 8 days and can't figure out what is wrong with the car. At the same time, I took my first Nissan back into the shop and they are charging me another $3,000 to fix it (2 years after I spent $4,000 on this car). This, along with not being able to determine what is wrong with my 2nd Nissan is why I question the competence of their service department. More
The Service Department botched my repairs TWICE after an accident. The second time was not caught until a few months later, when it was found and fixed by another shop. It cost me $450 for this second sho accident. The second time was not caught until a few months later, when it was found and fixed by another shop. It cost me $450 for this second shop to fix the mistake, which Tim Dahle Southtowne refused to reimburse because "the repair was out of warranty". Never mind that part of this issue was that they had installed a part UPSIDE DOWN, they washed their hands of all responsibility. More
After two recent -- and very expensive -- visits -- I really HATE this place. Let me say that the reason I came to Tim Dahle Nissan is that the age of my wonderful Nissan Frontier called for some signifi really HATE this place. Let me say that the reason I came to Tim Dahle Nissan is that the age of my wonderful Nissan Frontier called for some significant maintenance -- brakes, new AC compressor, shocks, struts, tune-up, fuel-injection service -- and I wanted certified, trained Nissan mechanics and service technicians to do that work. I will say that my problem with this dealership / service experience is ENTIRELY because of their extremely poor "front of the house" organization. I believe the mechanics have honestly done wonderful, quality work on my truck. But the "front of the house" segment of this business is simply atrocious. It's staffed by liars, cheats, and incompetents, top to bottom.Tear it down to the studs and start again. Examples: (1) They phone system's automated menu offers and option to press "0" for operator. I did that . . . . and it rang and rang and rang. I counted for fun before I just had to get on with my day. 47 rings . . . no answer. Think that's a good business practice, Mr. Dahle, to have a phone ring and ring and ring without being picked up? (2) I wanted a rear-seat cup holder for my truck replaced. It's just a part. Pops in / out easily. Found it online for $26. Tim Dahle's price?? $130!! Nice 500% mark-up, you out-and-out crooks!! (3) This was round two of two big maintenance visits to keep my truck running well, reliably, and something I can keep for many, many more years. I purposely scheduled in advance so that the dealership would have plenty of time to get its "ducks in a row," and I would be guaranteed same day completion. When I dropped it off, I specifically asked my "service advisor" if it would be done that day. "Yes" was the unequivocal answer. Liar, liar. It will have been there three days. I was told an unexpectedly difficulty situation arose with another vehicle. OK . . . understandable. But with that second full, additional day my truck was there, certainly done at the end of that day, right? No . . . LIARS LIARS LIARS xxxxING xxxxxxx LIARS!! (4) I made three calls yesterday during my very busy work days to try to reach my "service advisor." He was never available on any of them. Are you xxxxing kidding me? Never . . . in three calls? The excuse is always the same . . . with a customer. Uh-huh . . . sure . . . every time, huh? Rubbish . . . bollocks. Not buying it at all. (5) If the "service advisor" you've assigned me is not available, then why in the world haven't you developed some kind of back-up system dependent on notes / having other competent, diligent people involved so that I can get the status of my repairs, and up-to-date cost figures? Let me again be clear . . . love the skill of the mechanics, and the peace-of-mind knowing my truck is getting proper parts. But I'd completely blow-up this "service advisor" system and come-up with a better, more efficient way to deal with customers, keep them up-to-date, keep them from wasting their valuable time, and stop just xxxxing lying to us. I really need to find some viable alternatives to this whole captive-dealership business model. My experience just shows how fundamentally flawed it is. More
We took our 2017 Nissan Rouge in for repairs because the driver side set would not adjust. The analysis showed that the seat track was broken and would cost for repairs. Our car was out of warranty by a m driver side set would not adjust. The analysis showed that the seat track was broken and would cost for repairs. Our car was out of warranty by a month and just over 200 miles over mileage. Needless to say we were sick about it. In talking to Jon Stinson, our service adviser, he suggested that we call Nissan and present our situation to them and see if they could extend the warranty and help us out. We talked with Sarah at Nissan National, she reviewed our case and they agreed to help us with repairs. We appreciate Jon for going out of his way to help us and appreciate the service crew at Southtowne. More
