So I traveled 4.5 hours from Statesville NC down to Tidelands to look at a 2016 Navigator I found online. I wasn’t thrilled about making the trip knowing there was a decent chance I wasn’t going to buy Tidelands to look at a 2016 Navigator I found online. I wasn’t thrilled about making the trip knowing there was a decent chance I wasn’t going to buy it, especially after looking at three other used Navs, which looked immaculate in the pics online, but not as nice on site. One of those vehicles was a 2 hour drive, also in SC. Two of the three other dealers didn’t even want to acknowledge the blemishes I found let alone negotiate on the already slightly over priced vehicles. The guys at Tidelands certainly made my trip worthwhile. First off, there were a couple of cosmetic imperfections in the vehicle, which were in the photos, instead of intent to hide them, which I appreciated. I had talked to John to let him know I was driving down and was met by Benson “BD” Banks who had the Nav pulled up, cleaned up, and ready to be viewed. The couple of small cosmetic concerns I had were addressed, but were really no big deal at all. The vehicle was priced right, and I was relieved that there was no pain at all with the buying experience. I wasn’t excited with the APR for the financing, but I am probably one of the tightest guys you’ll meet. Nevertheless, I sat down BD, and he and Daniel in finance, found me a little better rate with a good down payment. Daniel also found me a warranty package that worked for me. John the GM took a few minutes to introduce himself and we talked “shop” around the beautiful brand new Nav in the showroom while I waited for the paperwork to be drawn up. BD was going to have the vehicle delivered to my home, as advertised, but instead the family and I drove back down to pick it up that weekend. Again, met there by BD, and the Nav was fueled up, cleaned up again, and ready for us. I believe another one of their salesman was also named Daniel, who was very educated on the entertainment system and gave my girls a tutorial on how to operate everything. Another one of the salesman even invited us up for the pizza party they were having for the employees! I have to mention one other thing. When I drove down there the first time, I’d mentioned to BD that the engine light in the Focus I was driving came on during my travels. He immediately drove the car to their service department and had the guys do a diagnostics check(didn’t charge me) on it while we went to check out the Navigator. All the guys and gals here are a great team and made our experience the best it could be. BD is an energetic young man, but genuine and honest at the same time....yes that’s possible. Kudos to the Tidelands team, we will do business again! More
