I have purchased 3 new vehicles from the Thomas group, a subaru, toyota and now a nissan. I came to the dealer ready to buy for an advertised price with no trade or other complications. I had called ahead to make an appointment for doing the paperwork and they refused to allow a set appointment. From the time I arrived until I got in for the paperwork closing was 4 hours, by this time it was late in the evening and I was normally sleeping as I work early. After making me wait for hours, now the closer acted as if everything was a big rush to get done and said I needed a service plan and additional insurance to close the deal, quoting an exorbitant price, baiting and hoping I would take it. he quickly came down by half and in my half awake state I agreed. The insurance when I examined the small print was only gap coverage for theft when I was already fully covered by my auto policy and they had examined the policy and knew this, so they charged 600 $ for effectively nothing. My experience with this service plan has shown it to be of little or no value, it took 3 visits to determine the battery that came in the car was faulty and replace it, when I make an appointment to bring the vehicle in for an oil change it takes a half hour to check it in and 15 minutes to check it out, including waiting in line at the cashier to pay a fee to use the overpriced prepaid service plan, obviously this dealership feels that the customers time is of no value. I would be highly unlikely to patronize the Thomas auto group again, and would tell others: if this is the way they treat repeat customers it is better to take your business elsewhere. More
I stopped by Thomas Nissan of Joliet for an oil change and to have an engine issue checked out. The service center appeared really busy. I have been a customer for years and I have to say that Nicole is something special. I started out looking at a used car. After some thinking and getting more information I ended up taking home a new 2012 Nissan Rogue. I just love the car and the attention I was given.
