Buyer beware Well first of all, I am dumb. Should have checked car out and not listened to a car salesman, lies, deception and denial. I was told there was no rust Well first of all, I am dumb. Should have checked car out and not listened to a car salesman, lies, deception and denial. I was told there was no rust, no leaks and no problems. The person who sold me the was nice until the car was delivered. I knew the car was old some there was going to be some issues, so I was not blind going into deal. When the car was delivered there were no reverse lights, driving the vehicle there was a diffident problem with the transmission. (I was told on the phone that the car had been driven several times and it ran great). Found out after having two transmission experts look at car that it was going to need about $2500 in work. I reported this to the salesman and asked the Owner to call me, Over 4 times asked and never happened. I found rust in the floor pans, radiator, battery area and various other places. The stereo did not work, the battery will not hold a charge for more than two days. There is oil leakage by the oil pan there was no dust cover over transmission bell housing. Suspension was old and needs a complete rebuild. Now if it was just a one or two small things ok, but not all this. After some texting of problems I called, first thing out of salesman mouth don't you know that this car is 46 years old! Second thing was you never once have told me thank you selling you the car! I also mentioned again that there was no reverse lights and he said we don't need them in our state! No empathy, no lets work this out, only everything is my problem now. He told me that since I did not play the role of grateful, please help and thank you for selling me that car he did not think owner was going to help me. I asked for him to give me a call but he was to busy. When I again texted with the damages on transmission they said they would send me $1250. Then said I should leave a good review! So the story does not end oh no! I gave instructions by phone and email on the two choices to send the title, instead 10 after sale it was sent to the wrong address to the bank parent company, after being told it had been sent correctly to the right address. Neither address have the title, the correct one or the wrong one or to me. It has been almost a month the car is in the shop, can't drive, can't title it and the repairs to make it drive worthy is close to $3500. So if you are going to buy a used car, especially a older one, pass on it and save yourself some grief and lots of money. I would give them a negative 3500 hundred stars but one plus can be used. I have photos, email and text documentations for all that has been stated above, except phone conversations. Buyer beware. More

We narrowed it down to one (unfortunately that’s all I could afford). Working off only Nick’s pictures, description, and video; the car arrived MUCH better than I even anticipated! Thank you again! I plan on being a repeat buyer once my budget allows. More
Better use caution Just wanted to warn people to be careful with Thiel. This is my situation. I bought one of their classics they had for sale. Reviewed all pictures, th Just wanted to warn people to be careful with Thiel. This is my situation. I bought one of their classics they had for sale. Reviewed all pictures, the ad write up and then spoke with one of the owners for over and hour. I ended up buying the vehicle, I knew I over paid but felt it was worth it to get a big dealerships backing. Now, the nightmare. Delivery truck showed up and first thing I noticed was the engine oil pan and transmission pan being completely wet with oil. I noticed this as it was on the top row of vehicles on the delivery truck. Man, my heart sank as the online sales images showed spotless oil pans with not a touch of oil on them. Then, the delivery guy asked if I knew about the dent on the front passenger fender and the gauge on the passenger rear quarter panel. I said no and then he showed me. I was even more distraught now. I had investigated the pictures on sales ad with a fine tooth comb and even went back to see how in the world I could have missed this. What I found was the glare in pictures was right on these spot so there was no way I could have seen this. However, I specifically asked the owner in the our phone conversation to describe the paint on the vehicle, his exact words, "Very very good paint with only a couple minor pits from it being driven". Next issue, the A/C which was described in the ad as Ice Cold with brand new R34 refrigerant, well, wouldn't you know, it didn't work at all. On top of this, when I started the truck and revved it up, the motor sounded like it as falling apart and going to shoot a rod out the side of it. To go along with this, the motor was smoking profusely out both tail pipes. This is what I got form Thiel Motors when the owner himself described the vehicle as totally solid as it had only recently been restored. Now, here are the facts with how Thiel handled this situation: At first, they were so so so apologetic and stated don't worry they would correct the issue. However the more I thought about it and realized this vehicle was going to be a money pit, I decided to tell them that I was just going to return it. This is when the owner's attitude completely did a 180. He then stated that he would discuss it with the other owners and get back to me. Well, here were the options I was given and please note I supplied picture proof of each issue and even pleaded for them to get on the phone and listen to this motor issue in which they never agreed to. First option, return it and buy another vehicle from them and I would get a full credit on this vehicle. Second, return it and pay a 20% restocking fee. Third option, keep it and they will send me a check for $1500. I thought to myself, WOW, is this nuts, a restocking fee on a return on a vehicle that was not in any way shape or form the vehicle advertised. In which I have in writing that the owner stated he was sorry that he missed noticing the dent and gauge, an email stating that he spoke to the mechanic and dealt with him on allowing the vehicle to go out with major, and I mean major oil leakage, and email in writing that they had to fix the AC system. However, no mention of the engine sound or the massive amounts of smoke out of both tail pipes. He even tried to state that the leaks must have just formed, however as the picture prove, oil and dirt everywhere along back of motor and top of transmission. In no way possible was this a new issue. Believe me, I am not fabricating a thing here and have full proof that ever detail I state is 100% true. Now, I am in a real dilemma here as I spent every cent I had to get into 16000 dollar vehicle. I did investigate purchasing another vehicle from them as I was completely cornered, but every other vehicle they had was way out of my price range. I in no way could except a 20% restocking fee on top of the fact I had paid 900 to Thiel for the vehicle to be ship it to me as well as I would have to pay shipping back. On top of all this, the receipt from the delivery guy showed Thiel was only charged 800 yet they charged me 900. Man, you talk about a low low low moral dealership. I in no way considered the 1500 option to keep the vehicle as the cost to correct could be in the 5-8 thousand range. So, I ended up sending the vehicle back under the condition that they would revisit the restocking fee when they received the vehicle and determined every single detail was 100% correct. Upon receiving the vehicle back, there was no contact from Thiel and when I called the owner was flat out rude as you could ever imagine. This is when I contacted the Iowa General Attorney's office who is now going after them. They stated that I was the second such complaint within the last 3 months and they are going to pursue compensation and put a stop to this type of misrepresentation of vehicles. So, just beware, this really is not the dealership they profess themselves to be. Please use caution if considering a vehicle from them. More
