I’m one of those really savvy people, lol that actually believed that when you go to a major chain dealership and you’re buying a used car, you’re not buying one off one of those private little lots where believed that when you go to a major chain dealership and you’re buying a used car, you’re not buying one off one of those private little lots where they lie and fib and tell you what you wanna hear oh one lady owned it that used to take it to the grocery store once a week, that’s what you’re gonna get when you go to Such as this. Well I was screwed. I saw a 2008 Volvo XC 70 with 60,000 miles on the market and I ran over there from downtown And I purchased it, not negotiating on the price AT ALL because I thought for the miles it was ok, but with that said, I still wound up overpaying About 50 percent, I paid over 16,000 And I really should’ve paid around $6000 to 8000. That was my doing. I should’ve negotiated it or walked away. I was told the car went through all the checks and being that it was a Saturday at 3 o’clock to bring it to me But they told me that the check that it is as good as any Mechanic, I go to, we’ve been in the business for this many years you have no problem. So I purchased the car and drove off on my way. About an hour later, the engine light came on. It could be anything so I didn’t really worry about it. A week later, I drove it to California, which is where I am now, which was always my intention. Pretty soon the registration was up and I had to get smogged. They said I would not be able to get it smogged with that little red light on so they would have to lift it up and see what is up And put that machine on to see what error code comes on. Well, it turns out the entire bottom of the car is 100% rusted out they believe that at one point it sat in water and it’s completely unfixable because if they take one thing off the bottom they’re afraid of the whole thing off The bottom they believe that it all fall apart, and everybody refused to work on it. In the next few days, I was offered $1500 for it and somebody else offered me 2200. I got rid of the car and if you can imagine I lost about 80% of the Sales price that I paid. What I believe is is, they turned off the little light which stays off for a little while and then it pops back on, I don’t believe they ever lifted the car up to see the enormous amount of rust. If they did, they still sold the car then they’re really really really Unethical. Regardless, they should’ve known and they shouldn’t have sold it, as I said, the bottom of the car was completely corroded. The Volvo dealership in town here said they would absolutely never sell a car in that condition although visually it was beautiful it was worthless. I’ve contacted them to see if they would like to put some money towards my loss or I plan I’m taking them to court. Even if it’s only out of ethics and being a dealership that stands behind their product It’s worth it to me to take this forward. They can afford the loss I can’t. Think twice about buying a car from this Dealership and if they rectify the issue, I will rove this honest review,I doubt they will they don’t really seem like they want to take on any responsibility., So far they have not followed through at all. I’ve asked them to send me a copy of the check on the car when it came Three times. I’m sure that it’s gonna say rust but the people that actually did this check should know better. They’ll just doctor it up if they send it I’m sure. Excuse the typos, I’m writing this without my eyeglasses on I received a call from the management today and they told me Put on a new muffler because the old Rusted off so they offered me $500 Because of the neglect and not putting it on. It was part of the to do list. I said absolutely not I’ve lost $11,000 Three months and I gave them an offer To reimburse me a very small amount of money, I’ll let you know what happens. This car should’ve been junked. As I said above, I couldn’t even get the car registered because nobody would touch it. It was too rusted out. More

Our last service appointment turned out to be a sad one. Marc Kubil was amazingly honest to let us know that the repairs needed were more costly than the value of our 2013 Volvo. This was hard to hear, but the honesty was very very much appreciated. If you are looking for an excellent and honest service department go to Autobarn of Oak Park and ask for Mr. Kubil. More
