My apologies for keeping your family waiting with such a long trip ahead of them. Texas does not allow vehicles to be sold with permanent plates. I can assure you that your engine oil had been changed before you purchased the vehicle. I am happy to provide you a copy of the inspection report. My sincere apologies if you felt mislead at all while purchasing your vehicle from us.

I appreciate the response, and will provide my own for the benefit of potential future customers (since you seem inclined toward gloss).... Texas Auto had seven working days to be able to provide the paperwork I needed to register the vehicle in my state in order to obtain permanent plates before I flew in to take possession - I even provided a return FedEx envelope (prepaid) to prevent any delays in doing so. Instead, that document was sent out on the afternoon I left with the car (correction here from initial review). I checked the fluids before I left the dealership, and all were full, which is good. However, the engine oil was black.... and I mean, BLACK. I did not think much of it at the time, as I was provided the assurance you noted in your response (e.g., inspection report). However, after arriving home and changing the oil, it took over five thousand additional miles before the new oil darkened to a level that came anywhere close to how dark it was at the dealership. Even allowing for several hundred miles on the vehicle between when it was released by the prior owner and when I acquired it, the oil is unlikely to have that appearance had it been changed. Ultimately, my rating is based on an accumulation of concerns. The most significant is the fact that the vehicle suffered significant damage to the left rear door - damage so poorly repaired that I noticed it from the dealer photographs and asked Mr. Martin. He told me that there was no damage - it was just an artifact of the lighting/indoor photography (this is in writing, btw). As it is, no, this is significant damage, and it was pawned off on me. It truly infuriates me that he was so comfortable with lying about it. After many purchases all over the continent, this experience certainly served as a reality check. I am glad that most of your customers seem to have good experiences; Texas Auto earned its low rating from me.
