I bought a car from Ted after he told me in two different emails and once in the phone that it had 79,000 miles. When it showed up at my house it actually had 166,000 miles. More than double! It was also ve emails and once in the phone that it had 79,000 miles. When it showed up at my house it actually had 166,000 miles. More than double! It was also very misrepresented. I actually got locked in the car and had to crawl out a window! Through the whole process Ted was more than professional and one of the nicest guys I’d done business with. He agreed to take back the car minus $2500. Once I told him I contacted the Attorney Generals office and the Motor vehicle highway and Safety board he instantly lost the nice guy routine and started attacking my character. I’m a single father and a 100% VA disabled retired Marine. No one has ever questioned my character but Ted did because I wanted my $2500 back after he Blatantly and knowingly lied to me on three occasions about the mileage. I will continue to pursue for my money through legal means. More
They are very Deceptive when selling you a vehicle! If your mechanic can't go check the car out, don't buy anything! The friendliness goes away, once they've sold you a car! Car misrepresentied We purchased the car from Ted at his dealership long distance, based on his reputation. When it arrived, we were very disappointed that the condition We purchased the car from Ted at his dealership long distance, based on his reputation. When it arrived, we were very disappointed that the condition of the car was not as described. We were assured multiple times by Ted that it was in excellent condition. It had a rock chip in the windshield we had to repair immediately to prevent more splintering. There were numerous scratches and a dented panel that seems to affect how the passenger door shuts. The AC does not work, because the compressor needs replaced. The transport company noted the body and windshield damage and the dealership signed off on it, so he was aware but didn’t disclose it. Also, Ted told us it was his fiancé’s car and after the down payment asked us to wire her the rest of the money. When we called about the condition of the car, he said we had to reach out to her, even though the only communication we had with her during the deal was the bank account to wire the funds. We reached out to both of them and asked them to help make this right, and they refused to assist. If you are considering a purchase from this dealership, ensure that you you inspect it carefully, in person, and test everything, because the info is unreliable. More
Most difficult and nasty - Beware of South Beach Classics I purchased a car from a salesman (manager) who has his desk in front a big office. Ted Vernon Specialty Automotives dba South Beach Classics charged I purchased a car from a salesman (manager) who has his desk in front a big office. Ted Vernon Specialty Automotives dba South Beach Classics charged my credit card for both the deposit and also took a deposit for restoration of the car. I gave a check to manager for the balance. The check was cashed, and I was sent a copy of the endorsed title and a bill of sale. After 2 months and lots of calls, no work had been done on the car. The manager left. I called Robin Ciel Vernon to discuss getting my car, and she responded with nastiness and diatribes about her salesman! She then told me that she wouldn't release the car until her employee paid her the money that she claimed he owed her. At this point, I have filed a police report and am trying to get my car back. If there is a nastier or more unprofessional person on this planet than Robin Vernon, I haven't met her. I would tell anyone and everyone that I would stay away from this business. More
