I have purchased many vehicles, and experienced both good and bad, honest and dishonest salesman, but he by far was the best. He will earn many repeat and referral sales for the dealership. I will refer everyone I know to him. He literally spent the entire day with me trying to get a deal for the right vehicle that I wanted. In the end, I purchased the vehicle he had originally arranged to show me based off phone conversations and emails before I ever stepped into Ted Britt Ford. I couldn't be happier and have zero buyers regret. I had to be the hardest sale that Phil will ever experience, and I wish that it was not the case for his sake as he truly is the best salesman I have ever met. As a point of reference, I have purchased six new vehicles in the past eight years (all Ford/Lincoln/Mercury) and had at least ten times that in visits to dealerships trying to work a fair price. I no longer live in the northern VA area, but I would seriously consider driving the 14 hours from where I am at in TN to purchase my next new vehicle from Phil. I have already told several people that are in the VA area to give Phil the opportunity before ever considering to buy from someone else. Phil showed a tremendous amount of professionalism and dedication, and he was completely honest throughout the process. He did not play any of the usual games of throwing out a bunch of figures haphazardly on a piece of paper and he explained each step of the process in submitting offers and working them through the managers. He personally went back into the shop to ensure that a slight scratch in the clearcoat was buffed out properly during prep, and when it came out of prep, he visually inspected the entire vehicle, including the top of the truck cab where he found some wax residue that he wiped off after finding a good microfiber towel. He remained over three hours after the dealership closed while I was going through the financing process even though he and I had already completed all of the initial purchase requirements that would allow me to drive the truck off the lot. He mainly wanted to go over the orientation again to ensure I did not have any additional questions, but he also regularly checked on us while in financing and even brought some water to us. Phil is an outstanding salesman in every way and an excellent representative for Ford. He needs to be recognized for it. I would not have spent so much time writing this on my cell phone if Phil's actions did not deserve it. Overall, Ted Britt Ford appeared to be an exceptional dealership from my single experience. The managers were very professional and did not attempt any high pressure tactics. Everyone working there was friendly and presented well. The facility is impressive, clean, and efficient. It was a very comfortable environment. As far as my F-150 goes, I completely enjoy it. The Sunset color is sharp and has drawn numerous positive comments. It rides great for any vehicle, but it is exceptional for a truck. The layout/comfort of the interior and looks of the exterior are well above the competition in my opinion. I was very surprised at how well the Ecoboost runs. It definitely has a ton of power to get up and go, but when pulling a trailer, it is easy to forget that it is even back there. Worst car buying experience I purchased 2015 Ford Escape Titanium yesterday, January 18, 2015 at Ted Britt Ford Lincoln Chantilly because of the VIP Price of $28,454.00. They sai I purchased 2015 Ford Escape Titanium yesterday, January 18, 2015 at Ted Britt Ford Lincoln Chantilly because of the VIP Price of $28,454.00. They said I qualified because I am a student and my husband is a retired military. The sales person, Leonia Durant (she is very helpful) and we, agreed for a final price of $31,110.60, (32,349.00 Market Price less rebate of $3,250.00 plus taxes, processing fee, and registration of $2,011.60), but when we got to the financing, the finance person, Clifford Melvin added the $3,250.00 rebate back to the bill of sale plus the taxes, processing fee, and registration which amounted to $34,390.98. The supposed internet discount of $3,250.00 were never deducted to the price of the vehicle. So my VIP price was disregarded during financing. instead of getting the agreed amount of $31,110.60, Clifford added an additional $3,280.38 to our bill, despite declining to his several offers of accessories, protection plan, etc. the price of the car went up to $34,390.98 (penalizing us for being a student and my husband a military, and for asking the VIP Plan). We were supposed to get the $2,500.00 standard financing offer because we finance it to Ford, but Clifford made it appeared that we are getting $2,500.00 rebate instead. To cut the story short, we went back the next day and spoke with the manager Ronald Johnson who acknowledged the mistake in the computation, but refused to fix it. He said the $31,110.60 agreed amount was a mistake, and he could not do anything about it. Leonia mentioned the day before that there was an additional $750 rebate added to us, but Ronald Johnson said, he removed it because we do not have a coupon. He even boasted that rebate is his discretion, and he chose not to give it to us. I showed him the loyalty discount that Ford is giving to loyal customers (this is our third Ford vehicle) which was advertised in their website, again he said no; I also showed him the $750.00 cash back Ford is giving to selected Ford models, and even the $500.00 cash back on selected Ford Escape models, but he refused to listen. The only rebates we got is the $2,500.00 for standard financing. He is very rude, and he said, the only thing he could do is to say sorry for the mistake, but he will not add back the approved $750.00 rebate yesterday, nor honored the agreed amount of $31,110.60 I would like to request for the Ford General Sales Manager Dario Beltran to investigate the scam that Mr. Clifford Melvin and Mr. Ronald Johnson have been practicing in dealing with the VIP price. Discounts should be deducted to the price of the car, but they added it back causing the vehicle price to increase by $3,280.38. This is so unfair, what is the point of advertising Ford VIP price, if the finance person, Clifford Melvin is not going to honor it. What is the point of negotiating for an amount if the manager Richard Johnson would not acknowledge it? Why did they change the computation? How can they get away with this unethical business practice? Mr. Beltran, please check my paper work, the document that my husband and I signed, along with the manager who approved the final unpaid balance was missing, and cannot be found. But there is another worksheet that will prove that the agreed amount including taxes, processing fees, and registration is $31,110.60. I have a copy of that worksheet to prove my claim, though our signatures were not there, but the manager's signature part is signed. Please to all prospective car buyers, be very careful when you are dealing with finance representative Clifford Melvin, checked the figures before you sign any documents. You think you are getting a good deal, but you are not, any supposed to be discount are added back to the final price of the car, and you will end up paying more than what you bargain for. Very tricky, I felt cheated. More

Despite no accidents being reported to Carfax (insurance), there is an accident on file with the dealer. It was a complete work order which included sending the vehicle to a body shop for repairs for a full week. I instructed the dealer that it was unethical for them to sell the car telling people it was NOT in an accident. They told me it was my problem and if I didnt like it they would sell it to someone else, they said if it wasnt on the carfax they felt NO obligation to tell the truth!!! WHAT!?!?. I am a three time customer at Ted Britt Ford and was very disappointed to see they have gone this route. I will be forwarding this information to my partners at NHTSB. I wish that was there only infraction. I also showed the sales manager (David Poole) that the tires did not meet VA inspection standards (2/23 of an inch of depth). He literally looked at me and said "Thats your problem, we passed it". I have a few colleagues at the State Trooper office and NHTSB that will be opening an investigation next week on Ted Britt. I even told them I was still willing to buy the car if they adjusted the price to reflect an accident and account for the vehicle's tires being bald. Again, the sales manager (David Poole) looked straight at me and said "Thats YOUR problem, some other buyer wont care if the tires are bald, we passed it!". My wife was sitting there with our two year and got up and walked out before I even had to tell her we were leaving. CRIMINALS!!! More
