Staff w Walked away feeling good about the sale ... that hasn't always been the case. Good selection of cars, Convenient location off Hwys 50 and 28. Staff was very friendly, courteous ... although they pushed us to buy the extras, it wasn't the pressure sales I have felt with others. Nice service area with attentive staff. Over-all good layout. I would buy there again and would recommend to friends. More
Bought a Certified Pre-Owned Ford Explorer on 8/6/15 So I am not normally one to write reviews, much less a negative one but wanted to give anyone considering purchasing a vehicle at this location a head So I am not normally one to write reviews, much less a negative one but wanted to give anyone considering purchasing a vehicle at this location a heads up that will hopefully allow them to have a better experience than I did and drive away happier. I've been looking for a Ford Explorer with the third row in it to accommodate my growing family. I finally found one online at Ted Britt at a great price and sent them a note. The folks on the internet sales department were great - got a call back right away and set up an appointment to see the car the same day. The visit was set up with a sales rep (Moe) and we were to meet at 7:30pm. I showed up on time, Moe was super friendly and very keen in selling the car to me (what sales person wouldn't be right). We took the car for a test drive, I love the Ford Explorer and instantly fell in love with it. So we proceed to the paper work. All was going fine when the first red flag pops up and I am told, this car passed the 160 point inspection, followed immediately by a correction stating that it passed the 200 point inspection without issues. Now, I don't work at Ford, but they sure don't advertise either and its pretty clear that its a 172 point inspection for a certified pre-owned car bought at a Ford Dealership. But then, I wasn't going to base my decision on the knowledge, or lack thereof of a sales person. I was comfortable seeing the Carfax report and having driven the vehicle personally. Then I get handed off to Mary, again, she is a good customer focused person and very pleasant. What irked me a bit and still is irking me this morning is the following. We get to some kind of seat protection coverage that would cover any spills, marks etc... she say for just $2,500 you can have a piece of mind for the life of vehicle. Which when she sensed my apprehension was lowered to $1,400 due to the fact that I am a USAA member, Mary applied her Costco Savings and gave me an additional "friends & family" discount. I declined. So I (foolishly) purchased the vehicle at night and it was dark. This morning I go to check out the car and lo and behold there are two pen/marker lines on the back seat which I failed to notice yesterday (seats are tan and the marks are black). Which annoyed me as she was trying to push this additional coverage saying that the car was clean and pristine. Not that would have deterred me from buying it, but please know the product you are selling. Wasn't all too pleased that she changed her tone when I declined this coverage. Probably cost her some commission and it was late. Additional issues found this morning - I guess the 172 point inspection (or maybe its because it was the 160 point inspection...) is kind of useless. The wheels on the vehicle are not aligned. Now, I am no mechanic, but having to keep the steering wheel slightly to the right to keep it going straight definitely means it is not aligned. Not a big issue, but when you buy a vehicle, even a second hand one, from a Ford Dealer that is supposed to be certified you want these small issues to not be present. Oh, and the spare key barely works (have to push button multiple times) and the tailgate on the car squeaks (not sure if that is just the way it is). I just hope there are no "surprises" lurking under the hood. Last person I saw was Daniela. She was pleasant - tried to get me to finance the car through Ford, but I had my USAA paper work all done and ready. And to no surprise, they were not able to match it. She did try to scare me into purchasing additional coverage saying that I would be spending A LOT of money on scheduled maintenance if I didn't. I don't really appreciate that kind of tactic and is it wise to try to scare customers into thinking their cars are going to cost them a lot money to maintain. Doesn't really inspire too much confidence in Ford vehicles right. Other than the above, I am happy with the car. Runs great and I am looking forward to being able to haul the whole family around in one car. Just will stay away from this particular dealership and hope the other Ted Britt locations are good. Perhaps I am being too picky, but you never want to feel like you've been had when buying something. Thanks, More
Excellent salesman! Jack went the extra mile for me to work out a good deal on a new truck. He is very professional and knowledgeable about the Ford vehicles. I would recommend him (as a sales consultant) to anyone (if he's still there). He was very polite and he didn't try to pressure me into anything. So in terms of my sales consultant experience, it was awesome. I also had the pleasure of working with Whitney Sullivan, Mary Burroughs, and Roland Johnson and they were amazing as well. Theres a reason Whitney Sullivan has so many sales awards in the building. Mary was very thorough in explaining the different warrantees etc etc. And Roland Johnson was very cool. He made the paper work part nice and easy. That being said, the management staff is a completely different story. I had literally bought a truck from this place, signed all the finance papers, gotten the tags, keys, etc etc filled out and put on the truck and as I was leaving, they told me that the truck was already sold to someone else! They immediately started removing the license plates from the truck and took the other key away from me trying to prevent me from leaving the dealership and essentially stealing my own truck from right under me. The sales manager (Herman) even tried to take the paper work proving that I had bought the truck to destroy any evidence..I didn't let him, and I still have all the paper work from the previous truck in my possession. They made an agreement with me to find another truck of equal or better value over that weekend and let me know. Well, they did, but it took longer than they had said it would. So I finally got the truck and redid all the paper work, and they had to rerun my credit score. Well, that affects my credit score for the next several years, so here I am paying for their mistake with my credit. The next day, when I went to get a tint put on the truck, the tint specialist told me that I didn't have a VA state inspection sticker on my truck. So here I am again, having to make another trip to this dealership because they didn't take the necessary steps to make the truck ready. I went there the following day and told the service manager that the windows couldn't be rolled down because the tint was curing. She assured me that she would tell the service consultant. I few minutes later I look out and see all the windows rolled down in the truck. What the xxxx! Needless to say, the tint was affected and it had to be redone. The long and short of it is, these people are horrible! I wouldn't recommend this location to anyone. And from my other friends and people that I know, they wouldn't recommend them either. Do yourself a favor and go to the biggest ford dealership in the area, Koons, and stay away from Ted Britt. They claim to be the second largest in the area. Well, second place is the first loser, and thats what the management team here seemed to display very well. More

The experience was good minus the fact that truck had a dealer installed sprayed in bed liner, which wasn't in the original pictures of the truck. Which would be a problem if it was a quality bed liner, but it is not. There was some over spray on the tailgate. But the worst part is it has already chipped in a few places, from very little use. Which is an extra pain considering they charge like $650. and now I'm going to have it ripped out a sprayed with a quality bed liner. More

We selected Ted Britt as it was closest and had good reviews. From the first contact it was not too good. The service person could hardly be heard on the phone (poor audio equipment and/or the wrong person for the job, a little of both perhaps?) never the less an appointment was made. We needed a loaner since it required a full day or more to complete the recall servicing so were told by the service advisor “to go in between 6:30 PM and 8 PM the night before because that is when the loaners come back in”. When we got there the two service desk people didn’t even want to make eye contact. When we did finally speak to one of the service advisors he was not rude but just barely not and the result was the same. When I asked for a loaner he just said “they were first come first serve and they had none”. No other reasonable advice was offered without us pulling it out of him. After some back and forth we asked and were told that, yes, if we came back in the morning and there were no loaners available they could get me transportation from Enterprise. They didn’t offer this unless pressed. We couldn’t, however, get a rental that evening since the department that deals with rentals closed at 6:00 (and yet we were told when making the appointment to arrive at 6:30). The next morning, I called Ourisman Lincoln in Frederick, MD. It is only a little further away from Leesburg but a much more pleasant drive with less traffic. It was a night and day difference. The service advisor could be clearly heard on the phone. He advised us that if a loner was not on hand that they would promptly get a compensated rental from Enterprise for us and that we could bring the car in at our convenience (today any time or tomorrow morning). I called Ted Britt back to cancel my morning appointment and got the same service advisor who could hardly be heard on the phone. A perfect bookend to close out this very bad dealer experience. I’m not sure about other people’s experience with the Ted Britt dealership but first impressions are very important and the one we got was VERY poor. All that went wrong could easily be fixed by good management which must be lacking at this dealership. Just clearly stating what their loner/rental car procedures and policy was seems not too much to ask, have a telephone advisor who could be heard and desk advisers who actually want to help you. They need to send their managers to Ourisman’s for training. More
Great Sales experience Mike Asay provided a fantastic sales experience. He was straightforward and fair and didn't play any games during the negotiating process. There wer Mike Asay provided a fantastic sales experience. He was straightforward and fair and didn't play any games during the negotiating process. There were a few things that needed to be done to repair the preowned car, and Mike was our personal advocate to ensure that the job was done quickly and well and that we were 100% satisfied. I would highly recommend both Mike and Ted Britt Lincoln! More
