My experience with Team Gillman Honda has been extremely disappointing and stressful. On February 13, 2026, I traded in my vehicle and put money down expecting to receive a reliable car. Instead, I was sold a Jeep Cherokee with multiple serious issues, including a cracked windshield, a malfunctioning temperature control system, a large dent on the rear passenger door, loud noises while driving, and even water leaking through the windshield when it rained. I reported these problems the very next day after signing the contract. While the dealership did repair the windshield and temperature system, they refused to fix the remaining issues, including the loud noise and damaged door. These are not minor concerns—they directly impact the safety and reliability of the vehicle. I was told by the salesman and management that it was “too late” because the car was sold “as is,” despite the fact that I reported the issues immediately. One employee in the service department was helpful, but overall, the dealership failed to take full responsibility or provide a fair solution. I went in trusting this dealership and left with a vehicle that has ongoing problems and added financial stress. I would strongly advise others to thoroughly inspect any vehicle and be cautious before purchasing here. I have filed a formal complaint with the Better Business Bureau and am prepared to pursue further action if this issue is not resolved. More
I’ve always trusted Honda for reliability and honest service, which is why this experience with Team Gillman Honda North has been very disappointing. I brought in my 2019 Honda HR-V (with under 55,000 miles) due to an AC issue and was told the system had suffered “black death” contamination and required a full replacement, with an estimated cost exceeding $6,000 (and close to $9,000 with additional recommended services). Because the diagnosis and cost seemed unusually high, I sought a second opinion from an independent shop. Their inspection found no evidence of metal contamination and confirmed that the AC system itself is functional. Instead, they identified a likely issue with the computer/control system not properly signaling the cooling fans, which is a completely different and significantly less severe issue. Additionally, several other services recommended by the dealership (tires, drive belt, cabin filter, and fuel system service) were not identified as necessary during the second inspection — only the rear shocks were confirmed to need attention. I have attempted multiple times to follow up with the dealership, including phone calls and voicemails, but have not received any response. This lack of communication, combined with the major discrepancy in diagnosis, raises serious concerns about the accuracy and transparency of the service provided. I am currently working with Honda corporate to review this situation and hope it can be resolved appropriately. I saw a vehicle advertised for around $44,000 and simply requested out-the-door pricing with my clean trade included. Instead of providing transparent numbers, the GM called and told me the price was actually around $48,000 a significant difference from what was advertised. When I explained that I have a baby and prefer to get numbers ahead of time rather than spend hours at the dealership, I was told they “wouldn’t cater” to me because I don’t live locally. I live only about 20 miles away. Being treated differently because of your zip code is unprofessional and unacceptable. It should be advertised that not living within the zip code means you’re not welcome. Never heard of such thing. The dismissive tone and refusal to provide transparent pricing felt dishonest. All I asked for was clear, written out-the-door numbers before making the drive. Instead, I was pressured to come in and told I wouldn’t be accommodated as a non-local buyer. Thankfully, I found another dealership nearby that was honest, transparent, and respectful of my time. I would strongly encourage future buyers to get everything in writing and proceed with caution here. Other reviews mention the pressure of buying add on packages. I guess that’s why they wanted me in so they could advertise that price and tack on packages once I get there. More
They agreed upon a price for a used car, to the penny, with manager: Storm. When I got to the dealership to pay, they sent another manager out: AK. He would not show his face or answer the phone. This is a typical carnival-style bait-and-switch technique which only people with no morals would ever use. I had driven across town after we reached an agreed upon price over the phone. They told me to come on out and pay for the car - that it was mine. They flat-out lied just to get me out there to try to bilk me out of more money. Team Gillman is the most dishonest and unethical dealership I have ever had the displeasure of having to deal with. If they will lie about the price they had agreed upon, they would lie about anything else as well. More
