Best Car Buying Experience Ever! This was my first time buying a car by myself. I had searched online for weeks about car companies ranging from Acura to Volvo, Honda to Toyota, Subar This was my first time buying a car by myself. I had searched online for weeks about car companies ranging from Acura to Volvo, Honda to Toyota, Subaru to Hyundai. After all my search I decided that Subaru was my best bet. My parents had just bought a Subaru from Curry Subaru, and the car had gotten us through the Winter. I thought that having an All-Wheel Drive car would be very beneficial. When I originally went to Subaru, I was deciding between the Impreza and the Legacy. After hearing the price of both, I was a little taken back. Not only did they have a month and a half to two month wait to buy the car, but they had horrible prices. No Deals At All. The salesman asked me if I wanted to take a test drive, but I declined. I already knew that comfort was not Subaru's main priority, because my parents car gives me back problems every time I am in it. If I wasn't receiving any deals, and had to wait almost two months, to get an uncomfortable car, then I wanted to leave and not waste anymore time. I then decided to go up route 6 and see the VW dealership. I didn't know exactly where it was, because I wasn't even looking at VW vehicles in the first place, but I decided that maybe I should just look anyways. First I ended up in the Audi Parking lot, which is also the VW and Audi Service Center. I then realized that the VW Dealership had moved. I quickly got back on Route 6, and in 2 seconds was at the VW dealership. Which might I add looked fantastic after moving to their new location. Sadly when I got there, the dealership was closed. But did I mention that it was christmas eve. That's awesome that they were closed, because there is nothing better to see than a business that treats their employees well. I honestly don't favor any business that opens up on Thanks Giving, Christmas Eve, Christmas, or for that matter any Holiday. Anyways, though I had come at a not so great time, I decided to look around at their car outside and check prices, mileage, warranties, MPG etc., and that's when I became very happy. No only was I amazed with the Stats, Specs, Ratings, and Prices, but I was absolutely in love with the look and interior of the cars. I saw a great car, with very very low mileage, for a great price and an incredibly luxurious interior. I then had days before I could test drive anything, so I decided to research, and really investigate everything about VW and Mohegan Lake Motors. Once I finished that part of the hunt, I was on to searching for other VW locations in Westchester and the Hudson Valley. After searching all Used, Certified Pre-owned, and New Inventory, I was absolutely set on VW of Mohegan Lake Motors. They had my perfect car, perfect price, and perfect mileage. I can, with facts to back me up, that Mohegan Lake Motors had the best prices out of any VW dealer within 100 miles. I then decided that before I got myself over excited I would have to go in and test drive and really see if the car was exactly what I wanted. Please note that I am someone who wants a car to last a long time, and get me where I need to go safely. Anyways, on friday December 26th, I went straight after work to go see what VW Mohegan Lake Motors was all about. I walk in and go immediately to a wonderful man named David Slavin, who is a VW Salesman. Not only was David a great guy, but he was a down to earth salesman, and he really cared about the customer and their needs before the dealerships needs. I felt absolutely no pressure, I honestly felt like David was trying to really get a grasp of what I was looking for and what he could help me accomplish. I had gone into VW on a mission, and David was really there to help me accomplish it. I walked up to David and immediately introduced myself and blatantly said, "Are you are cars salesman, I am looking for a car and need help," and he immediately had me sit down and explain to him what I was looking for, or what I thought I could be might be interested in. After talking for a little bit, David asked me if I wanted to go for a test drive in the car I might be interested in, and I said yes. Now just note, not only am I 19 years old, but I am a male. I am stereotyped as untrustworthy by most car dealerships and insurance companies, but not Mohegan Lake Motors. Before David could even get up to go get the car keys, I offered him my license. This I did, because in all the other dealerships I had been to they had all required not only my license, but some asked for social security and credit check. David quickly respond that he didn't need my license, which I still am amazed at not only how unpressured I was to get a deal going, but how trusted I was by David and VW Mohegan Lake Motors. After that David Pulled in a VW Jetta SE with Connectivity and Sunroof. He waved through the VW Dealership Glass Walls for me to come out and get into the car. David drove me offsite, due to the dangerous route 6, as it was policy to do so for customer safety. I had absolutely no objection, because I personally am frightened by route 6. David was note only a very safe driver himself, but he was good at multitasking, which was talking and driving, this is a quality I don't have. Anyways, David switched seats with me after stopping at a safe driving spot. He then showed me all the ways of how a VW Jetta should be driven. After going for an AMAZING! test drive we went back to the dealership. I then sat down with David and went over pricing, financing options, etc., and we went from there. Not too long after I had entered all the required info and I was introduced to Alex, or on dealerrater he is known as Alexander Sultanov. We went over extras, add-ons, warranty info etc. He told me my odds of getting accepted for Financing, and my steps I would need to take if rejected. Now because I had come to the dealership so late, about an hour before closing, they could run my credit, because the banks were closed. So they said that they would call me first thing in the morning on saturday if I was accepted or not. Alex mentioned that if he was the one calling me, if might not be good new, but if David was the one calling then it would be good news. Sure enough on saturday morning at around 10AM I received a call from David saying that he had good news and wanted me to call him back. Sure enough, David called me back, which I already knew he would because he's a great salesman. He told me that I was accepted by a certain bank, and all the information I needed to know i.e. insurance, fees etc., I then told him that my insurance wouldn't be ready until monday, but that I could still come in and sign the papers. David responded that I didn't need to come and waste my time to just come in and sign paper work, he said that it would all be waiting for me monday. Again, everything was on my time, and flexible to my schedule. The other thing that amazed me about this, was that when my parents bought their Subaru, Curry had them come in on sunday to sign paper work, and so monday they could take it home. This is because most dealerships want to make sure that you don't change your mind, or decide to wait longer to buy the car. VW of Mohegan Lake Motors had absolutely no desire to lock me in to a deal, they wanted me to be comfortable. When monday came I couldn't hold in my excitement. I arrived at the dealership about four hours after they had the car ready, again on my time. Everything was perfect, I drove right into the parking lot and saw my beautiful new waxed Jetta sitting there waiting for me. Also note, I had said to David when I first met him, "If I buy a car, can you make sure to wax it like that ( I pointed to a beautifully waxed VW Beetle)." and he replied, " Of course." He kept his promise about the smallest detail, and that's just another awesome quality that David has. Anyways, I signed all the paperwork, shook hands and was taken out to my beautiful new car. David sat with me in the car for about 20 minutes and went over all the different features, gadgets, and gismos, and warned me that though the car is very fun and will be an amazing car, that I have to watch my speed. I didn't exactly know what he mean't by that, but he went on to give me a story about his son and how he thought he was going a certain speed, when he was intact going much faster. I can now say, because I am driving this car all the time now, that David was 100% correct. I have to keep track of my speed, because you might not realize it immediately, but the car has power, and its so easy to go fast with this engine that you'll be doing 50mph faster than you realize. Anyways, After showing me everything, david shook my hand and congratulated me. I then said to him, " I don't have anymore paper work, there's nothing else?" and he said, " Nope, you're all done." I must say that this was a phenomenal car buying experience, and that I couldn't have gotten the car I had gotten for the price I wanted without VW of Mohegan Lake Motors, and the wonderful David Slavin. More

I went to Mohegan Lake Motors VW and Spoke with David Rivera. He took his time to explain the benefits of driving a Volkswagen. He didnt pressure me one bit. We discussed numbers and ended up getting me a Jetta fully loaded compared to my base civic. My monthly payment also went down 50 dollars. It was a great experience and I have already referred a coworker to go see David for his next car. More

I eagerly wanted to purchase a used 2014 Tiguan R-line that was on their lot. When I first walked through the door there were three salesmen talking. They stopped and looked at me as if I didn't belong. That's how I felt. No one greeted me. No one asked if he could help me. I had to say something first. Anyway, I dealt with David Rivera because of the many outstanding reviews he has received on DealerRater. And the accolades are well deserved. He is professional, knowledgeable and friendly. On my end, I had a trade-in, a 2013 Camry hybrid. David said he would work out some numbers and call me. Within the hour, he called me. The figures were way over my budget. I asked but there was no further negotiating. They didn't like my trade-in. I was disappointed because I really wanted a Tiggy. That's my sad story. Here's the happy ending. I found a 2013 Tiguan SEL (fully loaded to the hilt) at VW of Kingston. My experience there was totally different than at Mohegan Lake VW from the very beginning. They made me a deal, I negotiated, they accepted. In my opinion, I stole the Tiggy. I am now driving my dream car. And, oh, my payments are exactly the same as my previous car (Camry), plus the insurance is a little lower. You can go to Mohegan VW, but if you want a truly pleasant, professional car buying experience go to VW of Kingston and ask for Tammy Phillips. I worked with her, mostly over the phone, for approximately 2 weeks. Throughout, she treated me as if she wanted me, and only me, to have that car. This is my first VW and she won me over. In 2-3 years, I'll be back to see her for a new Tiguan. That's my story and I'm sticking to it. More

I have always been dealt with honestly and whatever was promised was delivered. This is probably the 8-9th vehicle I or one of my family members have purchased at Mohegan - I have dealers that are much closer to where I live and I have visited them but none of them approaches the way in which Mark and staff run their dealership. From the test drive to the delivery - negotiations- hassle free and no pressure. I would and do recommend them. You will not regret the decision More
