Needed a cheap vehicle. I purchased a 2000 Civic, with 110,000 miles on. They gave me the Carfax. The car had been regularly serviced at the dealership. They let me take the car to my mechanic. The me 110,000 miles on. They gave me the Carfax. The car had been regularly serviced at the dealership. They let me take the car to my mechanic. The mechanic said it was a good car, but replace a tire. The dealership did so. The car only had a one month warranty. I was leaving for a trip. The used car manager extended the warranty one more month. Basicaly, everything the dealership said they would do, they did. I paid a very good price. A year and a half later, I am still pleased. My wife and I looked at several dealerships via the internet and decided on Tarrytown because of the price and location. Anthony, the internet sales guy was very good through emails and on the phone. My wife went up on her own for a test drive of a Honda Fit and was handled very well by Richard Johnson. We found that the overall experience was good and people were friendly. Richard took the time to explain the features of the car to her without sales pressure. That's worth a lot! But even with those things, it IS a car dealership and that means that there is going to be lying. For example, on Friday when I spoke with Anthony, he promised that he would be able to do better than the internet price he gave me, claiming that Honda was giving an extra few hundred dollars off in stock cars. (*note, I highly recommend using consumer reports to get a price that the dealer pays - in other words, a price that is what the dealer pays for the car including rebates and incentives. You can then use this as a point of knowledge to negotiate a price slightly above it.) But when Monday came around, and I was dealing with Richard, he claimed they couldn't do better than the internet price and that the price included all rebates. That was an outright lie, but I didn't feel like arguing. That would've been a good time to walk away, actually, but I decided the price was fair enough - they just weren't honest about it. Like I said, that is to be expected from any dealership. They also tried hard to lowball the trade, the finance guy typically inflated the importance of aftermarket items (he claimed replacing a tire would be over $300! ha) and of course they make you wait. My problem was that my wife really wanted the car so I had to sit around to negotiate. But as I said earlier, they were pleasant, not high pressure, and very willing to help and assist in any questions. And that is better than a lot of other places, it was just that the games are stereotypical as far as car dealerships go. I would recommend them if you are looking at new cars. Just remember, your greatest asset is information available online, and the ability to walk away. Good luck! More
I love to service my car at Tarrytown Honda. All the service personel are corteous and dedicated. They take me to my office in Sleepy Hollow and they picked me up when I called. Nothing beats that! Ev service personel are corteous and dedicated. They take me to my office in Sleepy Hollow and they picked me up when I called. Nothing beats that! Everytime I go on vacation or on a long trip I bring it over to the dealer for a checkup. I don't know anything about cars, and feel confident in that their diagnostic is appropriate and the service delivered excellent. The entire team is fantastic. Thank you. Cecilia More
I was very impressed with Tarrytown Honda. Mikal was very knowledgeable and friendly. I have used Curry before, but I don't always love their sales tactics, and Tarrytown didn't play any games, beat Cu very knowledgeable and friendly. I have used Curry before, but I don't always love their sales tactics, and Tarrytown didn't play any games, beat Curry's price by $300 on a new Civic, then I went back to Curry and they weren't willing to match it. From test drive to signing papers to driving away, everything was flawless at Tarrytown. More
Tarrytown Honda turned out to be a great place to buy a certified pre-owned Honda Accord. First, I was impressed with their selection of Accords, plus they had lots of other Honda models on the lot, includ certified pre-owned Honda Accord. First, I was impressed with their selection of Accords, plus they had lots of other Honda models on the lot, including Civics and SUVs. The nicest cars are lined up on the front line, very impressive. Certainly worth the Tappanzee toll! Anyway, you'll like the way you're treated. The sales staff are not pushy at all, and as long as the weather is nice, you can walk around the lot and when you see a car you like you let them know. They pretty much had what I wanted: a late model Accord with low miles, CD player, sunroof, and power windows and locks. I wasn't fussy on the color, I just didn't want a flashy red car. The car was clean and drove well, and it didn't take long to negotiate and wrap things up. I was most impressed with their Customer Service and Price, and I wil certainly be making the trip across the Tappanzee for service. More
